_________ To create and to operate a knowledge management system is becoming a more and more popular target of the companies. Realizing the changes above can result in a failure – in spite of the biggest will – if organizations lack certain prerequisites which are necessary in companies’ lives. One of the most important prerequisites is organizational culture which can be characterized by confidence, common learning, development and open atmosphere. This is called a learning organizational culture. In their research the authors would have liked to know what kind of dreams the colleagues have about their own organizational culture. They achieve these results from an investigation with questionnaires which were realized by an advisory team. To evaluating the results of this investigation circumplex method was used. These results were compared with the characteristics of learning organization to confirm our hypothesis. According to this idea colleagues have the same images about their successful organization as the characteristics of learning organizations.

This paper examines the international diffusion of one business practice, project management, through the prism of prior literature and data on the diffusion of ISO 9000. The study took an inductive approach, building theory through the iterative collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. The findings problematise the central position accorded to the S-curve model and neo-institutional theory in explaining technology diffusion. The research posits three distinct processes driving the diffusion process: utility, institutional isomorphism, and competitive isomorphism, with the latter consisting of three primary mechanisms: competitive imitation, trendslators and fashion retailers. Contrary to prior literature, national, quasi-professional associations are found to be central to the diffusion process and play a key role in advocating and containing management technologies.

This research inquires into the value of two common ‘management technologies’, namely ISO 9001 and project management. To avoid certain methodological problems, we study the value of these micro-level practices by inductively analysing macro-level data, specifically the intensity of project management and ISO 9001 certification (termed project management score and ISO 9001 score) in different countries against national measures of wealth and innovation. There is no correlation between ISO 9001 score and innovation, while high ISO 9001 scores are correlated with decreasing levels of wealth. The project management score is positively correlated with wealth and with innovation, though very high project management scores are negatively correlated with innovation. The study includes a cluster analysis which finds that, with one exception, countries tend to adopt either project management or ISO 9001 but not both. The analysis indicates that project management is more likely to be associated with high innovation and high wealth than ISO 9001.

This study analyzes the manifestation of the dimensions of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and Project Management Systems (PMS). We used a qualitative approach to conduct exploratory research through a study in literature and a pilot case in a software company. Data was collected from semi structured interviews, documents, and records on file, then triangulated and treated with content analysis. The model proposed for the relationship between the types of PMS (ad hoc, Classic PM, innovation, entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship) and the dimensions of EO (innovativeness, risk-taking, proactiveness, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy), was partially corroborated by empirical studies. New studies are suggested to validate the applicability and setup of the model.

In chronic pain, opioids represent the gold standard analgesics, but their use is hampered by the development of several side effects, as development of analgesic tolerance and opioid-induced hyperalgesia. Evidence showed that many molecular mechanisms (changes in opioid receptors, neurotransmitter release, and glia/microglia activation) are involved in their appearance, as well as in chronic pain. Recently, a crucial role has been proposed for oxidative stress and proteasome in chronic pain and in treatment-related side effects. To better elucidate these aspects, the aim of this PhD thesis was to investigate the effects of opioids on cell oxidative stress, antioxidant enzymatic machinery and proteasome expression and activity in vitro. Also, the involvement of proteasome in the development of chronic pain conditions was investigated utilizing an experimental model of oxaliplatin-induced neuropathy (OXAIN), in vivo. Data showed that morphine, fentanyl, buprenorphine and tapentadol alter differently ROS production. The ROS increasing effect of morphine is not shared by the other opioids, suggesting that the different pharmacological profile could influence this parameter. Moreover, these drugs produced different alterations of β2trypsin-like and β5chymotrypsin-like activities. In fact, while morphine and fentanyl increased the proteolytic activity after prolonged exposure, a different picture was observed for buprenorphine and tapentadol, suggesting that the level of MOR agonism could be strongly related with proteasome activation. In vivo studies revealed that rats treated with oxaliplatin showed a significant increase in β5, in the thalamus (TH) and somatosensory cortex (SSCx). Moreover, a selective up-regulation of β5 and LMP7 subunit gene expression was assessed in the SSCx. Furthermore, our study revealed that oprozomib, a selective β5 inhibitor normalized the spinal prodynorphin gene expression upregulation induced by oxaliplatin, and reverted mechanical/thermal allodynia and mechanical hyperalgesia in oxaliplatin-treated rats. These results underline the role of proteasome in the OXAIN and suggest new pharmacological targets to counteract it.

IPH welcome the opportunity to comment on the Department for Social Development, Draft Regeneration Framework for the North West Quarter Part 2 area of Belfast City Centre, the ‘Northside Urban Village’. The Framework outlines the vision for the redevelopment of an inner city area of Belfast. It is recognized that a number of social, economic and environmental factors influence health. Urban regeneration has major implications for health as it includes not only physical redevelopment but also issues such as education, employment, environmental conditions, housing, welfare and healthcare. Urban regeneration can also help to address health inequalities at a local level, as the areas where regeneration is undertaken are usually marked by poor economic and social conditions. The North West Quarter Part 2 area of Belfast is a historic part of the city. The identified area is one of the most socio-economically deprived areas of not only Belfast but Northern Ireland. The area is characterised by the large number of people who receive income and housing benefits, have low levels of educational qualifications, high rates of long-term illnesses and it is also an area of high long-term unemployment.

The success of the digital game industry is spawning several undergraduate degrees aiming at the training of digital game developers. Building adequate new courses curricula is not a trivial task and demands a profound analysis of the scientific areas to introduce as well as the dependencies throughout the entire degree. Another important aspect of every academic educational plan are the satellite projects that promote entrepreneurship and provide practical professional experiences to students. This paper presents the main guidelines adopted in the creation of the first digital game development undergraduate degree created in Portugal.
