云南鸟类种的新记录——海南■

2006年10月28日凌晨3点,笔者在位于云南省新平县哀牢山的金山丫口鸟类环志站进行夜间鸟类环志工作时,用灯光诱捕到一只鹭科鸟类,经鉴定为海南(Gorsachius magnificus),为云南省鸟类物种新记录。形态特征:头和颊部黑褐色;枕部具黑褐色的延长羽冠;有明显的白色眼后条纹,颊纹白色;眼球外凸,黄绿色的眼睑向外伸出;眼先裸露皮肤呈黄绿色;喉白,中央有褐色条纹;颈侧棕色,前端有黑色条纹,前颈具褐白斑驳的条纹,后颈黑褐色;背部、翅和尾羽褐色;第一枚初级飞羽外栗红色;胸、腹部、尾下覆羽及翅下覆羽白色,杂有褐色斑纹;上嘴黑色,下嘴嘴基黄色,嘴端黑色;虹膜褐色(中国鸟类野外手册上记载的虹膜为黄色,MacKinnon et al,2000);跗黄绿色。雌性标本量度(g,mm)如下:体重563,全长565,嘴峰72,翅长305,尾长111,跗76。海南是中国的特有种鸟类,属国家Ⅱ级重点保护鸟类。分布于中国南方的少数地区,国外仅在越南东京有过一次记录(MacKinnon et al,2000),种群数量稀少,过去曾记录于安徽、浙江、福建(Cheng,1987)、海南、广西及广东(Gao et al,200...

表达序列标签(Expressed sequencetag,EST)是鉴定基因表达规律和发现新基因的一种有效的分子生物学手段。为了能在中华鲟(Acipenser sinensis Gray)中发现与生长和生殖内分泌调控相关的基因,我们构建了中华鲟垂体的SMARTcDNA质粒文库。垂体是调节生长和生殖内分泌的重要器官。在本研究中,通过测序筛选得到了944个EST克隆,将所得EST与GenBank数据库中的序列进行比对,结果表明,802(84.96%)个克隆可以找到同源序列,共代表461个基因,其中含132个已

草鱼、中华鳖IL-2活性影响因素的研究

结果显示 :当年草鱼种和中华鳖脾细胞培养上清液中能检测出IL 2活性 ,而且 1龄以上草鱼、中华鳖的IL 2活性高于当年孵化的草鱼和中华鳖。草鱼、中华鳖脾细胞在 2 5℃培养温度条件下 ,其上清液中IL 2活性最高 ,35℃次之 ,1 5℃最低。因此 ,草鱼、中华鳖IL 2活性在一定范围内是随着年龄增加而增强和依赖温度的。通过小鼠胸腺细胞增殖和对小鼠L92 9细胞杀伤率的实验表明 37℃比 2 5℃检测温度下所测的IL 2活性高 ,而中华鳖胸腺细胞增殖实验却显示 2 5℃检测温度下IL 2活性高于 37℃

Resonant excitation and imaging of nonequilibrium exciton spins in single core-shell GaAs-AlGaAs nanowires.

Nonequilibrium spin distributions in single GaAs/AlGaAs core-shell nanowires are excited using resonant polarized excitation at 10 K. At all excitation energies, we observe strong photoluminescence polarization due to suppressed radiative recombination of excitons with dipoles aligned perpendicular to the nanowire. Excitation resonances are observed at 1- or 2-LO phonon energies above the exciton ground states. Using rate equation modeling, we show that, at the lowest energies, strongly nonequilibrium spin distributions are present and we estimate their spin relaxation rate.

Second-order rate region of constant-composition codes for the multiple-access channel

This paper presents an achievable second-order rate region for the discrete memoryless multiple-access channel. The result is obtained using a random-coding ensemble in which each user's codebook contains codewords of a fixed composition. It is shown that this ensemble performs at least as well as i.i.d. random coding in terms of second-order asymptotics, and an example is given where a strict improvement is observed. © 2013 IEEE.

Identification of antiviral-relevant genes in the cultured fish cells induced by UV-inactivated virus

UV-inactivated grass carp hemorrhage virus (GCHV) can induce high titer of interferon in cultured CAB (crucian carp (Carassius auratus L.) blastulae) cells, and thus defend host cells against the virus invasion. The mechanism is proposed that an antiviral state should be established in the host cells by activating expression of a set of antiviral-relevant genes. In this study, suppressive subtractive hybridization is applied to constructing a subtracted cDNA library with mRNAs isolated from UV-inactivated GCHV infected and mock-infected CAB cells. 272 differential cDNA fragments are identified by both PCR and dot blot from the subtractive cDNA library. Sequencing analysis reveals 69 genes, including 46 known gene homologues, and 23 unknown putative genes. The known genes include the genes involved in interferon signaling pathways, such as Stat1 and Jak1, the antiviral genes, such as Mx and Viperin, and a set of interferon-stimulated genes observed in mammalian cells. Most of the unknown putative genes contain AU-rich element in their sequences. Differential expressions of these genes are further confirmed by virtual Northern blot and RT-PCR. The data imply that UV-inactivated GCHV is not only able to induce production of interferon in the infected CAB cells, but also leads to the expression of a series of antiviral-relevant genes or immune-relevant genes, and therefore reveals that the signaling pathway of interferon system and antiviral mechanism in fish are similar to those in mammals.

Comparison between visual and passive acoustic detection of finless porpoises in the Yangtze river, China

Recently, sonar signals and other sounds produced by cetaceans have been used for acoustic detection of individuals and groups in the wild. However, the detection probability ascertained by concomitant visual survey has not been demonstrated extensively. The finless porpoises (Neophocaena phocaenoides) have narrow band and high-frequency sonar signals, which are distinctive from background noises. Underwater sound monitoring with hydrophones (B&K8103) placed along the sides of a research vessel, concurrent with visual observations was conducted in the Yangtze River from Wuhan to Poyang Lake in 1998 in China. The peak to peak detection threshold was set at 133 dB re 1 mu Pa. With this threshold level, porpoises could be detected reliably within 300 m of the hydrophone. In a total of 774-km cruise, 588 finless porpoises were sighted by visual observation and 44 864 ultrasonic pulses were recorded by the acoustical observation system. The acoustic monitoring system could detect the presence of the finless porpoises 82% of the time. A false alarm in the system occurred with a frequency of 0.9%. The high-frequency acoustical observation is suggested as an effective method for field surveys of small cetaceans, which produce high-frequency sonar signals. Improvement of stoichiometry in semi-insulating gallium arsenide grown under microgravity

A semi-insulating (SI) GaAs single crystal was recently grown in a retrievable satellite. The average etch pit density (EPD) of dislocations in the crystal revealed by molten KOH is 2.0 x 10(4) cm(-2), and the highest EPD is 3.1 x 10(4) cm(-2) This result indicates a quite good homogenity of the EPD which is much better than the ground-grown crystals. A similar better homogenity of the stoichiometry i.e., the [As]/([As] + [Ga]) ratio has been found in the space-grown SI-GaAs single crystal studied nondestructively using a new mapping method based upon X-ray Bond diffraction. The average stoichiometry in the space-grown crystal is 0.50007 with mean-square deviation of 6x10(-6), while the average stoichiometry in ground-grown SI-GaAs crystal is more than 0.50010. Deep levels in high resistivity GaN epilayers grown by MOCVD

Undoped high resistivity (HR) GaN epilayers were grown on (0001) sapphire substrate by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). Thermally stimulated current (TSC) and resistivity measurements have been carried out to investigate deep level traps. Fabrication of a novel silica PLC hybrid integrated triplexer

A new-style silica planar lightwave circuit (PLC) hybrid integrated triplexer, which can demultiplex 1490-nm download data and 1550-nm download analog signals, as well as transmit 1310-nm upload data, is presented. It combines SiO2 arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs) with integrated photodetectors (PDs) and a high performance laser diode (LD). The SiO2 AWGs realize the three-wavelength coarse wavelength-division multiplexing (CWDM). The crosstalk is less than 40 dB between the 1490- and 1550-nm channels, and less than 45 dB between 1310- and 1490- or 1550-nm channels. For the static performances of the integrated triplexer, its upload output power is 0.4 mW, and the download output photo-generated current is 76 A. In the small-signal measurement, the upstream 3-dB bandwidth of the triplexer is 4 GHz, while the downstream 3-dB bandwidths of both the analog and digital sections reach 1.9 GHz.
