O lactofen, herbicida do grupo dos difenil éteres, é indicado para uso na cultura da soja, em pós-emergência, devido sua eficácia no controle de plantas daninhas latifoliadas. No presente trabalho, conduzido em casa-de-vegetação, foram utilizadas as cultivares de soja Foscarin-31, IAC-8 e IAC-9, tratadas com lactofen nas doses 0,018 e 0,36 kg de lactofen i.a./ha, aplicadas quando as plantas apresentavam a Segunda folha composta totalmente expandida. Aos quatro e doze dias após as aplicações, foram analisadas e descritos os sinais macroscópicos e microscópicos de intoxicação nos folíolos das folhas. Os resultados indicaram que o lactofen ocasionou expressivas alterações morfológicas externas e internas das folhas, nos locais onde foi depositado, e que a dose maior acentua os efeitos do produto sobre as plantas, sendo que as cultivares de soja apresentaram diferentes graus de sensibilidade ao produto.

Introduction: An epidemiological study of the mortality rates by injuries in São José do Rio Preto, State of São Paulo, Brazil, has been carried out. The period considered is 1996-1998. Objectives: To show injuries mortality rates in São José do Rio Preto-SP in 1996-98. Methods: The study was based on official data from the Mortality Information Service of the Brazilian Ministry of Health, and in a survey based on data from medical forensic examiners (IML). Software Epinfo6.0 and Tabwin was utilized for data analises. Results: The results were compared to values obtained in the literature for the other cities of São Paulo and Brazil. In the case of São José do Rio Preto, was observed a decrease in the number of deaths associated with external causes in the period, but particularly in deaths due to traffic accidents with motor vehicles an increase in cases of pedestrians killed by hit-and-run drivers, that is much larger than the corresponding values for Brazil and for the State of São Paulo. The study showed increase in rates of homicides, mainly in the 15 to 39 years age group. Conclusion: This result suggests that is important to start programs to reduce the number of deaths by injuries, as well as the necessity of monitoring locally all these data.

Deformities and abnormalities in crustaceans have been associated to genetic problem, which occurred during molt process, damage caused by ectobionts, predators or environmental stress caused by chemical wastes. Some crab specimens collected in the São Paulo littoral were found having body abnormalities. They belong to the following crab species: Callinectes ornatus (Ordway, 1863), Arenaeus cribrarius (Lamarck, 1818) and Leurocyclus tuberculosus (H. Milne Edwards; Lucas, 1843). Samplings were performed by trawling during July 2008, August and October 2009 at the Ubatuba region, São Paulo State, Brazil. Body abnormalities were verified in the cheliped dactyl (C. ornatus an adult male), carapace deformities (A. cribrarius an adult male) and abdominal alterations (C. ornatus an adult female; L. tuberculosus an adult male and an ovigerous female). The record and analysis of such occurrences can help in the distinction of natural or human impact caused alterations. In this way, the occurrence study of this kind of body alterations could provide tools in order to control unprotected environmental areas, as well as bring subsides to understand the unusual variations during the ontogeny of important species in the benthic community.

A temática avaliação tem sido o centro de inúmeras discussões e debates, na busca constante de uma educação de qualidade. Focamos nossa discussão nas avaliações externas, realizadas pelo governo federal que abrange a educação básica (ensinos fundamental e médio) e do ensino superior. Neste estudo analisamos as atuais políticas de avaliações externas realizadas pelo governo federal, suas implicações e limitações na busca de se mensurar a qualidade da educação. Mediante pesquisas bibliográfica e documental, o estudo em questão é resultado da investigação e discussão dos estudos de alguns autores que discutiram a temática e contribuíram para a reflexão sobre as atuais políticas de avaliações externas e seus reais motivos, assim como da análise de documentos do próprio governo federal. Discutimos os exames nacionais vigentes. Na sequência analisamos os possíveis motivos e direcionamentos das avaliações nacionais. Ao final do estudo, propomos a avaliação institucional de cada escola como forma de aprimorar e ampliar o atual processo avaliativo desenvolvido pelo governo federal.

Assim como, as vivências nos intercâmbios internacionais podem e devem contribuir em grau elevado na constituição das mesmas políticas públicas, angariando recursos e investimentos externos, elas também podem se aprofundar em experiência de conscientização dos sujeitos políticos. Quanto mais a difusão cultural entre os povos é incentivada, pelos governos e iniciativas não governamentais, somada à atividade política dos sujeitos, mais trará contribuições aos entremeios das sociedades complexas, que por sua vez, refletirão na melhoria das condições de vida dos indivíduos e de suas instituições. O plano discursivo ideal propõe a superação das amarras econômicas para contemplar os estratos sociais, essa seria a primeira etapa para iniciar o aperfeiçoamento das instâncias democráticas e, convém assistir às transformações desde as estrutura, ou seja, dos modos de pensar, ser e agir dos seres humanos em busca de um novo tipo de desenvolvimento, que de fato se reconheça globalizado. Para tanto, o método utilizado se ancorou na revisão bibliográfica da análise histórica e da análise de discursos dos ex-presidentes, a partir da época de redemocratização brasileira. A todo o momento, frisou-se a articulação entre as mais diversas frentes de organização social, interna e externa, bem como as supranacionais, tal articulação é oportuna à metodologia, na tentativa de uma compreensão introdutória dos processos da modernidade complexa. Além disso, optou-se por tecer considerações finais que deixassem o texto aberto ao debate, ao contrário de qualquer proposta conclusiva. A saber, a potencialidade em dialogar sobre o conceito de desenvolvimento, que se deseja pluralmente inserido na universalidade relativa ao gênero humano, torna-se mais atraente, à medida que são cobradas melhorias dos programas político-democráticos... Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the ability of endodontists and general practioners to perform the differential radiographic diagnosis between internal and external root resorptions, using digitized periapical radiographs. Methods: Thirty periapical radiographic images of external and internal resorption were selected. The evaluators were comprised of 15 endodontists and 29 general practitioners who answered a questionnaire with the following question: “What type of resorption in the following radiographics do you diagnose?” (1) Inflammatory external root resorption. (2) Internal root resorption. Statistical analysis was performed based on the Mann-Whitney test, with significance level of 5%. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in the percentage of correct answers from specialists in endodontics and general practitioners. Conclusions: Both groups demonstrated satisfactory skill in the radiographic interpretation of internal and external resorption and there was a higher percentage of correct diagnosis of internal resorption than the external.

This research analyses the positives and/or negatives of external reviews to work's organization developed at the/and by the school. It should be noted that it's a qualitative case of empirical research, and it takes the pattern of case's study, because we held the investigation just in one school, which in turn, belongs to the education's public network by the state, and is located at the São Paulo northwest. The tools employed at this research for the data's collect were the observation, restricted to times of Pedagogical Work Activities Collective from the school, and the semi structured interviews with educational coordinators and the teachers too. We choose educational coordinators and teachers because they are closer with the education and learning methods, as well as their activities have more responsibility in relation to the main function developed by school, that is to teach, in other words, educational processes. This research also concerns an investigation about the educational coordinators and teachers conceptions, in relation to system's implantation external reviews at the schools. The results indicate to incidence of significant interference of the external reviews to/in the organization school's work, as, a teaching practice reorientation from results arising these reviews, or, modifications in the internal rating, since they have followed a tendency towards becoming more similar with their own external reviews. In what concerns the subjects investigated, we can emphasize that mostly submitted alienation with respect to negative effects of the external reviews for school. They showed that are conformed with the reality that they are inserted and in your mostly they proved perceive the positive effects by the implantation of external reviews. In recent years, public schools have experienced the deployment of external evaluation that, legally, should promote the development and deployment aimed at enhancing the educational process of teaching offered at the country's public policy systems. However, such a situation occurred in a broader regulations of teaching and managerial measures and performative nature context generated implications in everyday school life, notably due to the pressure exerted on schools before the publicity of accountability for results and performance indicators changing, in many cases, the purpose of teaching work. In this context we understand that it is very important to discuss the history and characterization of implanted a city in São Paulo state systems, and vision teachers about them, and the consequences that assessments have caused in practice in the classroom. So be performed an empirical research of qualitative nature in four elementary schools-cycle Teaching I and II, with the aim of analyzing the perception of teachers about external reviews of a municipal school. As an instrument for data collection dense interview with teachers that will be used will be audio-recorded and then transcribed and analyzed with the support of the theoretical frameworks adopted
