The minimization and mitigation of environmental impacts caused by the activities of organizations is increasingly becoming a key concern due to factors such as market demand, including suppliers and consumer markets, quality standards and even marketing strategies. The implementation of an EMS - Environmental Management System - allows the organization to achieve the level of environmental performance for its determined and promotes continuous improvement over time. This system consists of a schedule of activities, so as to eliminate or minimize impacts to the environment through preventive actions. It also provides a structured approach to set and achieve goals and objectives, and to establish procedures, work instructions and control, ensuring that the implementation of the policy can become reality. The objective of this work consists in planning a system using environmental management based on the ISO 14001 - standard internationally more widespread and accepted in the requirements to establish and operate an EMS - the Central Library, UNESP, Rio Claro / SP to stimulate the quest for continuous improvement and sustainability in the educational institution. For making the diagnosis of this planning was used the PDCA methodology, suggested by the standard, as well as all requirements for compliance. The results show that the benefits that the organization will receive involve reducing expenses and cost of energy and water, and improve the organization's reputation before the whole university and other educational institutions, reaching about three thousand people on university

This work brings to its content proposed deployment of a system of quality management in paving asphalt based on the elaboration of a basic training to meet those entering this area of civil engineering at a technical manual for the implementation of major services running on paving of roads. The training was designed to serve both those entering the field of asphalt paving, synthesizing the complex processes involved in paving services and providing an overview of the steps in implementation thereof, as well as entrants must meet the enterprise user of this system, providing them an idea of the method used by the company designing the paving of roads. The technical manual presented in turn, has 8 (eight) of the main services components of a work of paving, which are: Mobilization and Maintenance of construction site, Regularization and subfloor preparation, execution or sub-base BGS base (graded gravel plain), Execution of sub-base or base BGTC (graded gravel treated with cement), Implementation of subbase or base Macadam hydraulic Priming bituminous waterproofing, asphalt binder Priming and finally the execution flexible pavement - HMA (hot milled asphalt concrete). These services are presented in the form of IT-Education work, this seven items are presented that guide the performance of services, thus providing overall guidelines to perform the services described in it. The development of IT's was based on experiences in day-to-day paving near the theoretical precepts presented in the literature, so the conditions specified in these documents aim to always guide the implementation of services in general, giving the process a versatility major operation, as this work takes into account the dynamics of such services, as well as the variety of their execution according to local conditions and specified in the project. The consumers' requirements are constantly growing, as well as the concern for the environment. Considering this change of scenario, industrial companies started paying more attention to environmental issues and decided to resort to solutions such as the adoption of the Environmental Management System based on the ISO 14001 model. It is believed that the adoption of this model changes the organizational image, both internally and externally. This possible change was the focus of this research, considering that many publics related to certified companies may have the wrong idea about what being a green company really means. The objective of this study is to verify, through a survey research, the relation between the Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001 with organizational image of Brazilian firms. At first, this paper presents a theoretical review on Environmental Management System, IS0 14001, Organizational image, green Marketing, Greenwashing and Public Relations. Next, the research method is presented, as well as the results obtained through theoretical study, the research application and data analysis, and a brief analysis of the Public Relations' role in the organizational environment at issue. Este artigo tem o propósito de examinar os desafios e oportunidades relacionados à implementação de sistemas de gestão ambiental baseados na Norma ISO 14001:2004 nas Instituições de Ensino Superior e como elas podem se adequar aos requisitos para possuir um sistema de gestão ambiental (SGA). O estudo envolve análises sobre as implicações da adoção de sistemas de gestão ambiental por universidades e sobre os aspectos relevantes na adoção de SGAs com base na Norma ISO 14001, como barreiras, benefícios, motivações, práticas e fatores críticos de sucesso. Luzes são lançadas, assim, a um tema de crescente importância (sistemas de gestão ambiental), com foco em objeto analítico ainda pouco analisado do ponto de vista ambiental (Instituições de Ensino Superior).

The work and work organization influence the evolution of the health-disorder process by establishing a causal link with the work and the disorder. The present study aimed to verify the presence of the disorder of the sleepwake cycle triggered by non-organic factors, by identifying the possible effects on physical health, mental health and the social and family relations ten watchmen of a public institution of higher education. It was found that 80% of respondents had one or more of the symptoms that meet the criteria for the diagnosis of this non-organic disorder of sleep-wake cycle. We emphasize the need for specialized diagnostic, medical, psychological and social support for this population

This work aims to identify the main motivations and difficulties faced by Brazilian companies to obtain ISO 9001 certification. The key quality management practices that provide support to this certification and the relationship with other types of systems, such as ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), were also investigated. A survey research was conducted with 191 companies. The main motivations for implementing ISO 9001 are the following: internal organization improvement, production efficiency increase, and brand reliability improvement. Employee resistance was the greatest challenge found during the implementation process. On the other hand, the main benefits identified were: quality processes improvement and increased employee awareness of quality. The results reveal that the most common quality programs and tools used are: 5S, brainstorming, and Ishikawa diagram, while the least common are SERVQUAL and QFD.

INTRODUCTION: Attention in Worker's Health (WH) integrality incites expansion of Primary Health Care (PHC) actions. So, it is necessary to understand the work carried out at PHC units and its possibilities to subside WH plans and procedures aiming at workers' health integral attention. OBJECTIVE: To present PHC workers' perception concerning WH actions performed in health care units of a mediumsized municipality in the state of São Paulo. METHODOLOGY: data collected through a 20 question-self-assessment questionnaire prepared by the researcher, using descriptive analysis of closed questions and content analysis of open questions. RESULTS: 45% of all workers answered the questionnaire. All health units in the municipality and all the professional categories part of the PHC teams were enclosed. The answers indicated that the PHC personnel, when providing assistance to users, take their jobs into consideration, and that some actions concerning worker's health are carried out at health care units. The respondents also pointed out that their difficulties to perform these actions are much more related to aspects of the system organization and management, than to the particularities of the worker's health area. CONCLUSION: The study indicates that health care worker's working condition is an important issue for the implementation of PHC worker's health actions

Refletir sobre o campo saúde do(a) trabalhador(a) é o objetivo deste estudo. Busca-se sublinhar o significado das condições de trabalho para o ser humano do ponto de vista da saúde. A premissa não é quantificar, mas inferir que as condições de trabalho podem gerar danos à saúde, mas nem sempre apresentam de imediato a sua relação com o trabalho. São discutidas, a partir da abordagem qualitativa, três situações, as quais contemplam os trabalhos rural, informal e infantil e, como resultado, verifica-se a contradição da categoria trabalho, que, se por um lado é sinônimo de sociabilidade, por outro, contraditoriamente, constitui-se em mecanismo de exclusão social na medida em que é realizado sem o reconhecimento dos direitos sociais e trabalhistas. Verifica-se a expansão de formas de trabalho sem regulamentação, tais como o domiciliar e o familiar e os realizados em locais como a rua e o lixo. Encerra-se a reflexão com destaque ao papel do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) na assistência integral à saúde dos(as) trabalhadores(as) e ao desafio de atuar na perspectiva de prevenção e promoção da saúde do trabalhador de modo integrado e articulado aos demais órgãos públicos que atuam nesta área.

O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar a deposição de óxido de alumínio no campo operatório do cirurgião-dentista durante a utilização do sistema de abrasão a ar em consultório odontológico, bem como a efetividade da sucção de alta potência na captação desse pó. Por meio de um dispositivo para a coleta das partículas nos locais correspondentes às posições e distâncias de trabalho do profissional, dentes artificiais foram abrasionados. O sistema de sucção empregado para aspiração das partículas foi o de alta potência com sugador de saliva convencional e sugador com abertura ampliada por funil. A mensuração das partículas foi determinada pela quantidade em massa de óxido de alumínio depositada em placas de Petri. Os resultados obtidos por meio de estatística descritiva gráfica revelaram que a maior quantidade de pó se encontrava a 20 cm do operador e na posição de trabalho 9h, quando foi utilizado o sugador de saliva convencional. Uma vez comprovado que a sucção não é totalmente eficiente na aspiração do pó de óxido de alumínio, reforça-se a importância da proteção individual apropriada para o emprego seguro do sistema de abrasão a ar para pacientes e, principalmente, para os profissionais que trabalham com este tipo de tecnologia.
