Machinima revelations presents cutting-edge machinima experiments from around the world. Machinima is filmaking by combining the techniques of filmaking, animation production and the technology of real-time 3D game technologies.  Machinima Revelations curator Dr Leon Marvell from Deakin University presented cutting-edge machinima experiments from around the world and Australia, including the award-winning feature-length machinima, Stolen Life by Australian pioneer Peter Rasmussen

Live events represent a significant and growing sector of the creative industries but the creative process underlying this sector is little researched in the event management context. Despite the increased consumption of virtual and online media, the live event remains a popular channel of expression for a wide range of creative art forms and commercial messages. Live events use such messages as 'props' or 'stages' to produce memorable and emotionally positive moments for audiences. The creative process behind developing a live event is in itself a live event, involving groups of event professionals working in a social context to conceptualise ideas for their audiences. This research fills the gap for event professionals in the creative industries by seeking to understand the creative process intrinsic to live events. This paper suggests that social creativity is used to develop live event concepts. The phenomenon of social creativity identified from the existing literature is explored in the context of its application to event professionals. An Action Research approach is recommended to better understand the key antecedents of social creativity and how they can influence event concept development.

This thesis investigates 'Frankenstein', in the light of Cultural Poetic practices and modern psychological theories, illustrating the pivotal role it played in the transition of developmental psychology from philosophy to science. Drawing on Locke, Rousseau and Godwin, Shelley presents the monster as an exaggerated case study of the danger of ineffective nurturing.

Investigates the creation of a method for the connection and communication of commercial off the shelf discrete-event simulation packages for simulation models of manufacturing systems. Through this research a method to connect different commercial off the shelf discrete-event simulation packages was successfully developed facilitating parallel development of models and the creation of extremely large models.

This research presents a novel haptic grasping interface and demonstrates its ability within multi-point event-based feedback. Through experimental methodology, the dynamics involved in grasp contact interactions are modelled based on first principles. The proposed approach demonstrates a method of realistically representing grasp contact with rigid virtual objects through multi-point interaction.

The results of three studies suggest that repeated interviews assist in retaining information over a 6 week interval without increasing suggestibility. In addition prompting was also efficient in retaining information over 6 weeks. The implications of this study were that repeated interviews at intervals less than 4 weeks, could assist children to improve recall at a court appearance.

Proposes a design method for the development of software in Visual BASIC whose programming environment is multi-paradigm. Extensions to structure charts and pseudocode to incorporate the three paradigms have been developed based on the premise that procedural models, event-driven forms and objects are mutually exclusive in operation.

The efficacy of mental reinstatement of context in facilitating six-year-old children's recall of one occurence of a repeated event was explored. Results demonstrated a beneficial effect of mental reinstatement of a unique contextual feature of one occurence of a repeated event on children's recall of details specific to that occurence.

Method of detecting an event in electrical apparatus (146, 148, 150). Electromagnetic radiation from the apparatus, characteristic of the event, is detected. An electrical signal is generated, this representing the electromagnetic radiation. The signal is subjected to non-stationary wave signal analysis to generate an output indicative of the detecting.
