Gas collisions and pressure quenching of the photoluminescence of silicon nanopowder grown by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition

The quenching of the photoluminescence of Si nanopowder grown by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition due to pressure was measured for various gases ( H2, O2, N2, He, Ne, Ar, and Kr) and at different temperatures. The characteristic pressure, P0, of the general dependence I(P)=I0exp(-P/P0) is gas and temperature dependent. However, when the number of gas collisions is taken as the variable instead of pressure, then the quenching is the same within a gas family (mono- or diatomic) and it is temperature independent. So it is concluded that the effect depends on the number of gas collisions irrespective of the nature of the gas or its temperature

Determination of the direct band-gap energy of InAlAs matched to InP by photoluminescence excitation spectroscopy

A series of InxAl1-xAs samples (0.51≪x≪0.55)coherently grown on InP was studied in order to measure the band-gap energy of the lattice matched composition. As the substrate is opaque to the relevant photon energies, a method is developed to calculate the optical absorption coefficient from the photoluminescence excitation spectra. The effect of strain on the band-gap energy has been taken into account. For x=0.532, at 14 K we have obtained Eg0=1549±6 meV

Medical image registration based on random line sampling

One of the key aspects in 3D-image registration is the computation of the joint intensity histogram. We propose a new approach to compute this histogram using uniformly distributed random lines to sample stochastically the overlapping volume between two 3D-images. The intensity values are captured from the lines at evenly spaced positions, taking an initial random offset different for each line. This method provides us with an accurate, robust and fast mutual information-based registration. The interpolation effects are drastically reduced, due to the stochastic nature of the line generation, and the alignment process is also accelerated. The results obtained show a better performance of the introduced method than the classic computation of the joint histogram

L’origen d’aquest projecte neix en la necessitat de crear un sistema de reserves hoteleres on-line integral i amb connectivitat amb altres sistemes de reserves. S'ha optat pel protocol de comunicació OTA(Open Travel Alliance), es tracta d'un protocol de comunicació XML ideat per empreses del sector turístic dels Estats Units per la necessitat comuna d’unes especificacions tècniques que permetessin la comunicació electrònica de la informació

Antecedentes de la lealtad en los entornos on line y off line: un análisis empírico aplicado al sector de la aviación civil

El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la lealtad de los usuarios de líneas aéreas tanto en el entorno online como en el entorno offline. La revisión bibliográfica ha identificado tres antecedentes: la satisfacción, la confianza y el valor percibido. Se ha llevado a cabo un estudio empírico realizándose un total de 1710 entrevistas personales en el aeropuerto del Prat (Barcelona) a usuarios de dos compañías aéreas tradicionales, Iberia y British Airways, y a una compañía low cost, Easyjet. Se trata de las tres compañías que operan con vuelos directos Barcelona-Londres. En el análisis de los datos se han utilizado modelos de ecuaciones estructurales y en particular la técnica utilizada fue el análisis factorial confirmatorio. Los resultados revelan que tanto la satisfacción, como la confianza y el valor percibido explican las relaciones de lealtad entre los pasajeros y las compañías aéreas.
