Blogging is one of the most common forms of social media today. Blogs have become a powerful media and bloggers are settled stakeholders to marketers. Commercialization of the blogosphere has enabled an increasing number of bloggers professionalize and blog as a full-time occupation. The purpose of this study is to understand the professionalization process of a blogger from an amateur blogger to a professional actor. The following sub-questions were used to further elaborate the topic: What have been the meaningful events and developments fostering professionalization? What are the prerequisites for popularity in blogging? Are there any key success factors to acknowledge in order being able to make business out of your blog? The theoretical framework of this study was formed based on the two chosen focus areas for professionalization; social drivers and business drivers. The theoretical framework is based on literature from fields of marketing and social sciences, as well as previous research on social media, blogging and professionalization. The study is a qualitative case-study and the research data was collected in a semi-structured interview. The case chosen to this study is a lifestyle-blog. The writer of the case blog has been able to develop her blog to become a full-time professional blogger. Based on the results, the professionalization process of a blogger is not a defined process, but instead comprised of coincidental events as well as considered advancements. Success in blogging is based on the bloggers own motivation and passion for writing and expressing oneself in the form of a blog, instead of a systematic construction of a successful career in blogging. Networking with other bloggers as well as affiliates was seen as an important success factor. Popularity in the blogosphere and a high number of followers enable professionalization, as marketers actively seek to collaborate with popular bloggers with strong personal brands. Bloggers with strong personal brands are especially attractive due to their opinion leadership in their reference group. A blogger can act professionally either as entrepreneur or blogging for a commercial webpage. Any other technology has never affected daily life at this level and witnessed as speedy adaptation as the mobile phone. At the same time, mobile media has developed to be a serious marketing tool for all kinds of businesses, and the industry has grown explosively in recent years. The objective of this thesis is to inspect the mobile marketing process of an international event. This thesis is a qualitative case study. The chosen case for this thesis is the mobile marketing process of Falun2015 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships due to researcher’s interest on the topic and contacts to the people around the event. The empirical findings were acquired by conducting two interviews with three experts from the case organisation and its partner organisation. The interviews were performed as semi-structured interviews utilising the themes arising from the chosen theoretical framework. The framework distinguished six phases in the process: (i) campaign initiation, (ii) campaign design, (iii) campaign creation, (iv) permission management, (v) delivery, and (vi) evaluation and analysis. Phases one and five were not examined in this thesis because campaign initiation was not purely seen as part of the campaign implementation, and investigating phase five would have required a very technical viewpoint to the study. In addition to the interviews, some pre-established documents were exploited as a supporting data. The empirical findings of this thesis mainly follow the theoretical framework utilised. However, some modifications to the model could be made mainly related to the order of different phases. In the revised model, the actions are categorised depending on the time they should be conducted, i.e. before, during or after the event. Regardless of the categorisation, the phases can be in different order and overlapping. In addition, the business network was highly emphasised by the empirical findings and is thus added to the modified model. Five managerial recommendations can be concluded from the empirical findings of this thesis: (i) the importance of a business network should be highly valued in a mobile marketing process; (ii) clear goals should be defined for mobile marketing actions in order to make sure that everyone involved is aware them; (iii) interactivity should be perceived as part of a mobile marketing communication; (iv) enough time should be allowed for the development of a mobile marketing process in order to exploit all the potential it can offer; and (v) attention should be paid to measuring and analysing matters that are of relevance

Tämän diplomityön tarkoituksena on kehittää menetelmä, jolla voidaan seurata inhalaatiovalmisteen sisältämiä epäpuhtauksia. Menetelmä kehitetään erittäin korkean suorituskyvyn kromatografialaitteistolle (Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography, UHPLC) jo olemassa olevan HPLC-epäpuhtausmenetelmän pohjalta. Uusi menetelmä kehitetään analyysiajan lyhentämiseksi ja erotuksen resoluution parantamiseksi. Työn kirjallisuusosa esittelee lyhyesti inhalaatiovalmisteet sekä nestekromatografian perusteet. Korkean erotuskyvyn nestekromatografia ja analysoinnin apuna käytettävät parametrit selvitetään laskukaavoineen. Kirjallisuusosa keskittyy epäpuhtausmenetelmän kehittämisen kulkuun ja menetelmän validoinnissa suoritettaviin kokeisiin. Soveltavassa osassa Orion Oyj:n kehitteillä olevalle kahden vaikuttavan aineen inhalaatiovalmisteelle kehitetään UHPLC-epäpuhtausmenetelmä kirjallisuusosiossa esitellyn menetelmäkehitysrungon pohjalta. Menetelmäkehityksen kulku ja analyysin olosuhteiden valinta esitellään pääpiirteittäin, jonka jälkeen kehitetty menetelmä validoidaan sille tehdyn validointisuunnitelman mukaisesti. Kehitetystä UHPLC-epäpuhtausmenetelmästä saatiin 16 minuuttia lyhyempi kuin vastaava HPLC-epäpuhtausmenetelmä. Myös analyysin resoluutio parantui merkittävästi. Toistuvien injektioiden jälkeen kromatogrammissa esiintyi kuitenkin häntimistä, joka johti merkittävään resoluution heikkenemiseen. Häntimisen syyksi epäiltiin toisen vaikuttavan aineen kiinnittymistä kolonnimateriaaliin, mutta sen estämiseksi ehdotetut toimenpiteet eivät sopineet kehitettyyn menetelmään.

The objective of this Master’s thesis is to find ways to streamline the invoicing process of the case company. In order to streamline the process, the bottlenecks and development areas of the present invoicing process needs to be identified. The bottlenecks are based on interviews made to personnel. The thesis also offers solutions to overcome the identified bottlenecks. The problem is the slowness of the invoicing process which should get rid off. The slow invoicing process causes delays in obtaining payments. There are many reasons for the slowness and inefficiency of the invoicing process. One of the biggest reasons is that the information systems are not deployed entirely. It causes additional work for everyone. Practices with the customers affect also to the smooth flow of invoicing. The contracts determine when the customer can be invoiced but also work approvals, missing work orders and customer’s own invoicing basis slow the process. The fastest and cheapest solution is to deploy the systems better and do things correctly. Thus duplicated work would decrease and resources would be saved. The work allocation should be modified and the practices with customer should be influenced too. In the future the meaning of IT should be highlighted and new devices exploited.
