Tuotannonohjauksen kehittäminen sähkömoottoreiden huoltotoiminnassa

Diplomityön kohdeyrityksen liiketoiminta on kokenut viime aikoina merkittäviä muutoksia lisääntyneen volyymin, vaihtuneiden toimitilojen ja konsernin taloudellisesti haastavan tilanteen johdosta. Olosuhteiden muuttuessa ja taloudellisten vaikeuksien kasvaessa on tuotannonohjauksen kehittäminen jäänyt yksikössä takaa-alalle, mikä näkyy pitkittyneinä toimitusaikoina ja laskutusviiveenä, heikkona ohjattavuutena ja täten myös kannattavuuden huonontumisena. Työn tavoitteena onkin tutkia sähkömoottorihuoltotoiminnan nykytilaa ja löytää käytännönläheisiä ja nopeasti toteutettavissa olevia ratkaisuja tuotannonohjauksen kehittämiseksi. Työn teoreettisena viitekehyksenä käytettiin tuotannonohjauksen perusproblema-tiikkaa käsitteleviä teoksia, kuten myös tuotannonohjauksen kehityshankkeisiin liittyvää materiaalia. Tämän lisäksi työhön on pyritty saamaan lisänäkemystä suo-rittamalla benchmarking -vierailuja yhteistyöyrityksiin, jossa on hiljattain suoritettu vastaavan kaltaisia, onnistuneita tuotannonohjauksen kehityshankkeita. Työn empiirinen osuus jaoteltiin kahteen teemaan; nykytila-analyysiin ja toimenpide-ehdotuksiin. Nykytila-analyysi pyrittiin luomaan mahdollisimman kattavaksi sisällyttämällä siihen näkökulmia niin tuotannollisten lukujen kuin henkilöstön nä-kemysten perusteella. Analyysin pohjalta yritykselle laadittiin ehdotuksia käytän-nönläheisistä, nopeasti toteutettavissa olevista toimenpiteistä kuten myös ehdotuksia tuotannon jatkokehityksestä.

Development of sales invoicing process in industrial services

The objective of this Master’s thesis is to find ways to streamline the invoicing process of the case company. In order to streamline the process, the bottlenecks and development areas of the present invoicing process needs to be identified. The bottlenecks are based on interviews made to personnel. The thesis also offers solutions to overcome the identified bottlenecks. The problem is the slowness of the invoicing process which should get rid off. The slow invoicing process causes delays in obtaining payments. There are many reasons for the slowness and inefficiency of the invoicing process. One of the biggest reasons is that the information systems are not deployed entirely. It causes additional work for everyone. Practices with the customers affect also to the smooth flow of invoicing. The contracts determine when the customer can be invoiced but also work approvals, missing work orders and customer’s own invoicing basis slow the process. The fastest and cheapest solution is to deploy the systems better and do things correctly. Thus duplicated work would decrease and resources would be saved. The work allocation should be modified and the practices with customer should be influenced too. In the future the meaning of IT should be highlighted and new devices exploited.

How CSR and stakeholder engagement encourage the development of Industrial symbiosis from the management viewpoint?

The thesis aims to understand how CSR and stakeholder engagement can contribute to the development of industrial symbiosis. Theory suggests that corporate social responsibility and stakeholder engagement theories have many similar aspects that correlate with the development of industrial symbiosis. This study is qualitative and empirical suggestions are derived from integrative analysis of literature, secondary data and case study analysis. The empirical findings from the interviews support the framework that is created from the findings of the literature review. The results discovered throughout the thesis research suggest that CSR functions as a theoretical background for industrial symbiosis and stakeholder engagement helps develop more thorough understandings of it from the management viewpoint. Empirical findings and literature review also suggest that in the developing of industrial symbiosis the key aspect are the social characteristics such as a robust management structure, trust between partners and long-term commitment to the common goals that support the development of these symbioses. Also, communication and transparency supports the development of industrial symbiosis. For managerial contribution, this thesis presents organizational practices that can help managers to understand how they can engage in effective engagement with stakeholders in the development of industrial symbiosis.
