This paper presents a reflection on the need for libraries to think about how to facilitate access to the documentary sources they manage.As the number of resources available in electronic form increases, libraries are in the need to provide a simple and usable search tool that allows integrating the contents of the various information management systems they give access to.To define user expectations to the search interface, some of the features that they are accustomed to use in their requests for information on the Internet have been included.The technologies that allow the discovery layer implementation as a search tool that integrates the various information systems of the library are presented next. And below are some examples of implementations that work in line with the integration of various information sources into a single search engine, as models to consider for implementing a system of this kind.The purpose of it all is to present a state of the art of some cases of operational deployments as a starting point for any organization interested in improving access it offers to its resources on the basis of references study.

Disseny de firmware per mòdul USB de microcontroladors PIC

Disseny o programació d'un codiinformàtic (firmware) que controli el mòdul USB d'un microcontrolador PIC per poder serutilitzat com a base o punt de partida pel disseny d'aplicacions senzilles, on la necessitatprincipal sigui l'intercanvi de dades entre un ordinador personal i un hardware microcontrolat.Es parteix d'un coneixement bàsic del protocol USB, sense ésser necessari conèixer enprofunditat el funcionament d'aquesta interfície de comunicació, qüestió que per altra bandano és necessària perquè les especificacions són molt àmplies i recullen molts supòsits defuncionament específics que no seran d'aplicació per la majoria de dissenys.Per assolir l'objectiu fixat, s'ha orientat el projecte a desenvolupar una aplicacióconcreta per tal d’ acotar els paràmetres defuncionament de la interfície USB, ja que les especificacions són molt àmplies i cal focalitzarel nostre interés per saber quines parts d'aquestes especificacions ens seran d'aplicació, també per les possibilitats que dona de control, detecció i correcció d'errors, en saber quina finalitates persegueix i com es suposa que ha de funcionar la nostra aplicació. I com a última raó, haver desenvolupat una aplicació, és també una garantia de funcionamentdel codi resultant i permet demostrar que s'ha assolit l'objectiu inicial.L'aplicació escollida a dissenyar en aquest projecte és un lector electrònic de targetes ambxip integrat (com les bancàries o identificatives) amb un microcontrolador PIC amb mòdulUSB, de manera que, des d’un ordinador i via el port USB, es puguin enviar comandes aaquest tipus de targetes i rebre les corresponents respostes

Como trabajo a realizar se propone crear una página web para CompleTex, una empresa de reciente creación con sede en Barcelona y dedicada a la venta de complementos de moda. CompleTex pretende desarrollar la parte principal de su negocio a través de la red, vendiendo y exponiendo sus productos por medio de la página web que se ha de crear en este proyecto.

L'objectiu d'aquest treball final de carrera consisteix en la realització del disseny i implementació d'una botiga online com a plantilla per a qualsevol empresa que vulgui donar a conèixer els seus productes a internet.

Les alfabetitzacions digitals

El tema de l"alfabetització digital (o electrònica) requereix unes distincions inicials que la situïn en l"interior d"un marc teòric des del qual s"analitzarà. Altrament, la imatge més immediata que evoca és l"aprenentatge de determinades tècniques, i potser alguna competència associada, en una concepció funcional de l"alfabetització, és a dir, l"adequació d"una alfabetització genèrica al context pràctic que han introduït les tecnologies informàtiques i comunicatives: aprendre a usar els ordinadors, les aplicacions generals, el processador de textos, el correu electrònic, els navegadors i un llarg etcètera difícil de delimitar. És clar que aquest enfocament és necessari, i no es posa en qüestió, però pensar-lo com a únic deixa fora les aproximacions diferents del que és l"alfabetització, i alhora redueix la revolució digital a un conjunt d"aplicacions.

Operacions bàsiques al laboratori químic en xarxa. Una nova eina per a estudiants i professors

Un conjunt de professors de les facultats de Química i Farmàcia de la Universitat de Barcelona hem elaborat un material docent en suport electrònic, d"accés lliure a la xarxa, que descriu el procediment pràctic de diverses operacions bàsiques de treball al laboratori químic. L"objectiu principal és crear un material docent que serveixi de suport a l"aprenentatge dels estudiants i a la tasca docent del professorat involucrat en l"ensenyament del treball pràctic en l"etapa d"inici dels estudis universitaris.

The Achieved Dreams of a Neighborhood

This article explains the social transformation process initiated at the end of the 1970s within the neighborhood of La Verneda-Sant Martı´ in Barcelona. This process started with the foundation of an adult education center that was organized as a Learning Community (the first one in the world). From the beginning, it was administered for and by the community. It became a space of debate where the demands and dreams of the neighbors converged about transforming their neighborhood along with the recommendations of the international scientific community. Twenty years later, the dreams came true: There have been substantial improvements throughout the urban space, infrastructures, housing, urban thoroughfares, and public highways. The INCLUD-ED European project, using the communicative methodology of research, has thoroughly studied the transformation carried out in the La Verneda-Sant Martı´ Adult School and its neighborhood. INCLUD-ED has identified successful practices within diverse social areas that are transferable to other contexts and contribute to overcoming inequalities and improving the most underprivileged neighborhoods.

Beyond the net generation debate: A comparison of digital learners in face-to-face and virtual universities

In the last decade, an important debate has arisen about the characteristics of today"s students due to their intensive experience as users of ICT. The main belief is that frequent use of technologies in everyday life implies that competent users are able to transfer their digital skills to learning activities. However, empirical studies developed in different countries reveal similar results suggesting that the"digital native" label does not provide evidence of a better use of technology to support learning. The debate has to go beyond the characteristics of the new generation and focus on the implications of being a learner in a digitalised world. This paper is based on the hypothesis that the use of technology to support learning is not related to whether a student belongs to the Net Generation, but that it is mainly influenced by the teaching model. The study compares behaviour and preferences towards ICT use in two groups of university students: face-to-face students and online students. A questionnaire was applied to a sample of students from five universities with different characteristics (one offers online education and four offer face-to-face education with LMS teaching support). Findings suggest that although access to and use of ICT is widespread, the influence of teaching methodology is very decisive. For academic purposes, students seem to respond to the requirements of their courses, programmes, and universities. There is a clear relationship between students" perception of usefulness regarding certain ICT resources and their teachers" suggested uses of technologies. The most highly rated technologies correspond with those proposed by teachers. The study shows that the educational model (face-to-face or online) has a stronger influence on students" perception of usefulness regarding ICT support for learning than the fact of being a digital native.

Ocho dudas razonables sobre la necesidad del voto electrónico

En un momento en que se generaliza el uso de las diferentes soluciones de voto electrónico, parece razonable hacer balance sobre cuáles son los principales obstáculos que esta «última revolución electoral» debe superar. Antes, sin embargo, consideramos necesario discutir los principales malentendidos que se han creado en torno al voto electrónico, así como intentar aclarar cuáles son los motivos que se aducen para su implementación. A partir de aquí, se presentan ocho grandes dudas a las que todavía no se ha dado una respuesta satisfactoria en su conjunto, si bien una buena parte de estos aspectos han sido objeto de especial atención en algunas experiencias de voto electrónico.

Àgora. La experiencia de la Escuela de personas adultas. La verneda-Sant Martí: del aprendizaje de las tecnologías al contexto de aprendizaje tecnológico

La Comunidad de Aprendizaje Escuela de personas adultas La Verneda-Sant Martí, lleva más de 10 años trabajando las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación desde una perspectiva transversal y global. A través del trabajo que venimos realizando día a día, hemos visto como las TIC han pasado de ser una necesidad formativa a convertirse en un contexto de aprendizaje cotidiano entre las personas que participan de nuestro proyecto. Desde que en 1999 decidimos transformar nuestras actividades para integrarnos plenamente en la sociedad de la información hemos cambiado metodologías, prioridades y formas de trabajar. Mostrar cuáles han sido esas transformaciones y qué resultados son los que se han alcanzado es el principal reto del artículo.

Implantació d'un sistema integrat : ERP, web i CRM a un distribuïdor d'informàtica

Aquest treball de final de grau tracta de donar una solució basada en sistemes d'informació a un distribuïdor d'informàtica anomenat DistriTiC, que ha perdut competitivitat i clients en els darrers anys. A través d'un anàlisi inicial de la situació de l'empresa i dels requeriments organitzatius de la direcció, hem realitzat un pla estratègic de renovació de sistemes d'informació estudiant les quatre etapes del cicle de vida i els seus processos transversals.

Valoración experiencial del aprendizaje tras formación virtual.

[eng] An observable study on the behaviour in the laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology II (pharmaceutical pilot plant), with two groups of students of 3rd course (proactive aptitude and valuation of the"knowledge to do acquired") is carried out. The variable between groups is that one has realised a training (by means of self-study of an interactive application multimedia, especially designed), without tutorship on behalf the teacher in front of the other group that carried out the same training with the same material but with the guide of the teacher in the computer lab. On the one hand it is valued if there is some effect differentiator between both types of training, by means of the accounting of the correct results obtained in a previous test to the entrance in the pilot plant and by another one the valuation that the professors made responsible for the groups of practices in situ. The results demonstrate the previous hypothesis that there must not be significant differences between the groups, beyond the inherent ones to personality of the students itself (interest and personal implication by the subject). On the other hand the test for the observation in the laboratory did not facilitate the distinction of objective differences. [spa] Se lleva a cabo un estudio observacional sobre el comportamiento de los estudiantes (aptitud pro-activa y valoración del “saber hacer adquirido”) en el laboratorio de Tecnología Farmacéutica II (planta piloto farmacéutica) de dos grupos de estudiantes de 3er curso. La variable entre los dos grupos es que uno ha realizado una formación no presencial (mediante el autoestudio de una aplicación interactiva multimedia, especialmente diseñada), sin tutoría por parte del profesor, frente al otro grupo que llevó a cabo la misma formación con el mismo material pero con la guía del profesor en el aula de informática. Por una parte se valora si hay algún efecto diferenciador entre ambos tipos de formación, mediante la contabilización de los resultados correctos obtenidos en un test previo a la entrada en la planta piloto y por otro la valoración que hicieron los profesores responsables de los grupos de prácticas in situ. Los resultados demuestran la hipótesis previa de que no debían existir diferencias significativas entre los grupos, más allá de las inherentes a la propia personalidad de los estudiantes (interés e implicación personal por el tema). Por otra parte el test para la observación en el laboratorio no facilitó la distinción de diferencias objetivas.
