Atenció als discapacitats i les seves famílies des del marc residencial

El treball recull des de l'experiència del pràcticum de psicologia, l'atenció que reben els discapacitats i llurs familiars des d'un règim residencial. Hi ha una part teòrica de caràcter més conceptual, i també es descriuen casos portats des de la concepció de la institució on es van dur a terme les pràctiques.

Detecció i tractament de la dislèxia en l'àmbit de l'escola primària

El projecte intenta recollir, a partir del model integrador de Uta Frith, amb els seus tres nivells diferenciats que poden originar els trastorns de la lectoescriptura, com detectar la dislèxia i com tractar-la. Dóna un seguit d'eines i metodologies per tal de treballar amb els alumnes de primària que presenten dislèxia apostant per la psicoeducació de professors, familiars i del propi alumne per tal de realitzar una reeducació dels aspectes que puguin millorar-se i ajudar a l'alumne a acomodar el trastorn.

Collective Intelligence for OER Sustainability

To thrive, the Open Educational Resource (OER) movement, or a given initiative, must make sense of a complex, changing environment. Since "sustainability" is a desirable systemic capacity that our community should display, we consider a number of principles that sharpen the concept: resilience, sensemaking and complexity. We outline how these motivate the concept of collective intelligence (CI), we give examples of what OER-CI might look like, and we describe the emerging Cohere CI platform we are developing in response to these requirements.

Towards a Social Learning Space for Open Educational Resources

We identify a number of meanings of "Open", as part of the motivating rationale for a social media space tuned for learning, called SocialLearn. We discuss why online social learning seems to be emerging so strongly at this point, explore features of social learning, and identify some of the dimensions that we believe characterize the social learning design space, before describing the emerging design concept and implementation.

Bòbila d’Ermedàs: Estudi del material arqueològic de la UE-115

Estudi del material trobat a l’interior d’una de les tres canals presents en el jaciment d’Ermedàs recuperat durant la 6a i 7a campanyes d’excavació, al 2004 i 2006, en què es va excavar l’estructura. El conjunt a analitzar correspon al moment de l’abandó de la canalització, indicatiu que ens trobem davant un conjunt tancat. L’objectiu és analitzar un grup de material ceràmic que serveix per datar i contextualitzar la canalització dins el funcionament global de la bòbila d’Ermedàs, per tal de poder conèixer una part més del seu funcionament

The relationships of stress, health and wellbeing among workers

The precise relationship between the positive psychological state of work (i.e. engagement ) and the negative psychological state (i.e. burnout) has recently received research attention. Some view these as opposite states on the same similar continuum, while others take the position that they represent different biobehavioral spheres. This study expands our knowledge of the phenomenta engagement and burnout by analyzing their separate and joint manifestations. Using a sample of 2094 nurses, respondents were analyzed to determine the configuration of antecedents leading to separate and joint states of engagement and burnout, the configuration of engagement and burnout leading to mental, physical and organizational outcomes, and the relationship between engagement, bornout, and risk of metabolic syndrome. The study found that while both work engagement and burnout are highly correlated to health and organizational outcomes, the relative statistical power of burnout has a greater direct effect on health. It is important for workers and managers to adress the sources of burnout before addressing the positive psychological aspects of worker engagement.

Análisis de la calidad del agua de las playas El Tenis, Faro Maya, Descanso, Los Pinos y Buena Ventura de la provincia de Matanzas (Cuba)

El projecte s’emmarca dins els estudis que fa el Ministerio de Ciencia Tecnología y Medio Ambiente de Cuba. Aquest organisme realitza un monitoreig ambiental integral de les platges, avaluant aspectes estructurals, morfològics i dinàmics, estat de la vegetació i qualitat de l’aigua. El projecte es centra en el monitoreig ambiental de l’aigua de les platges, que té com a propòsit fonamental valorar, observar i controlar el recurs aigua per protegir, conservar i millorar la seva qualitat. Es pretén analitzar puntualment i evolutivament la qualitat sanitària de les platges utilitzant la Norma Cubana com a límit establert. Per determinar aquesta qualitat es tenen en compte diferents indicadors físico-químics i microbiològics i també aspectes estètics

Entorn web per a l'administració d'un cluster de computació distribuïda

S'ha creat un entorn web que permet executar les tasques d'administració que comporta un cluster, de firma gràfica. Algunes d'aquestes tasques són la creació de còpies seguretat o la gestió d'usuaris i grups. A més, des d'aquest entorn es permet la monitorització del cluster, per veure els seus recursos i l'estat dels nodes.

Projecte d'una passarel·la metàl·lica per a vianants amb tauler de fusta sobre el riu Onyar de Girona

El projecte té com a objectiu la projecció (disseny, càlcul i construcció) d’unapassarel•la d’acer sobre el riu Onyar a Girona al seu començament de la zonatransitable a la llera del riu, que permeti el pas de vianants i vehicles rodats nomotoritzats, incloent cadires de rodes, bicicletes, carros de la compra i cotxets d’uncostat a l’altre del riu. Per aconseguir un disseny òptim sense necessitar d’utilitzar mésmaterial del necessari es decideix realitzar una passarel•la amb forma corba i un estudide la biga principal aplicant el mètode dels elements finits a través d’un programacomercial.L’abast del projecte és la de projectar una passarel•la metàl•lica de uns 50 metres dellarg i 4 metres d’amplada. Amb una estructura el mes apurada possible per tal de noutilitzar més material del compte i així poder abaratir costos. C-H···O H-bonded complexes: how does basis set superposition error change their potential-energy surfaces?

Geometries, vibrational frequencies, and interaction energies of the CNH⋯O3 and HCCH⋯O3 complexes are calculated in a counterpoise-corrected (CP-corrected) potential-energy surface (PES) that corrects for the basis set superposition error (BSSE). Ab initio calculations are performed at the Hartree-Fock (HF) and second-order Møller-Plesset (MP2) levels, using the 6-31G(d,p) and D95++(d,p) basis sets. Interaction energies are presented including corrections for zero-point vibrational energy (ZPVE) and thermal correction to enthalpy at 298 K. The CP-corrected and conventional PES are compared; the unconnected PES obtained using the larger basis set including diffuse functions exhibits a double well shape, whereas use of the 6-31G(d,p) basis set leads to a flat single-well profile. The CP-corrected PES has always a multiple-well shape. In particular, it is shown that the CP-corrected PES using the smaller basis set is qualitatively analogous to that obtained with the larger basis sets, so the CP method becomes useful to correctly describe large systems, where the use of small basis sets may be necessary

A quantum molecular similarity analysis of changes in molecular electron density caused by basis set flotation and electric field application

Quantum molecular similarity (QMS) techniques are used to assess the response of the electron density of various small molecules to application of a static, uniform electric field. Likewise, QMS is used to analyze the changes in electron density generated by the process of floating a basis set. The results obtained show an interrelation between the floating process, the optimum geometry, and the presence of an external field. Cases involving the Le Chatelier principle are discussed, and an insight on the changes of bond critical point properties, self-similarity values and density differences is performed

How does basis set superposition error change the potential surfaces for hydrogen-bonded dimers?

We describe a simple method to automate the geometric optimization of molecular orbital calculations of supermolecules on potential surfaces that are corrected for basis set superposition error using the counterpoise (CP) method. This method is applied to the H-bonding complexes HF/HCN, HF/H2O, and HCCH/H2O using the 6-31G(d,p) and D95 + + (d,p) basis sets at both the Hartree-Fock and second-order Møller-Plesset levels. We report the interaction energies, geometries, and vibrational frequencies of these complexes on the CP-optimized surfaces; and compare them with similar values calculated using traditional methods, including the (more traditional) single point CP correction. Upon optimization on the CP-corrected surface, the interaction energies become more negative (before vibrational corrections) and the H-bonding stretching vibrations decrease in all cases. The extent of the effects vary from extremely small to quite large depending on the complex and the calculational method. The relative magnitudes of the vibrational corrections cannot be predicted from the H-bond stretching frequencies alone

Structural and functional properties of genes involved in human cancer

Background: One of the main goals of cancer genetics is to identify the causative elements at the molecular level leading to cancer.Results: We have conducted an analysis of a set of genes known to be involved in cancer in order to unveil their unique features that can assist towards the identification of new candidate cancer genes. Conclusion: We have detected key patterns in this group of genes in terms of the molecular function or the biological process in which they are involved as well as sequence properties. Based on these features we have developed an accurate Bayesian classification model with which human genes have been scored for their likelihood of involvement in cancer.

Development of a microprocessor controlled energy harvester using a Peltier element

Nowadays it is necessary to research other types of energy alternatives and find the way to supply and save the energy we waste. The aim of the project consist of programming a microprocessor to measure if an oven radiates heat to the exterior, for the measure It is used a Peltier element that generates a voltage depending of the temperature difference between the oven and the air of the place where the oven is situated; The energy generated by the oven will be recollected in a condensor. A sensor will be used to know the exact measure. The second part of the project the main propose, is the development of a harvester. The microprocessor will use the voltage produced by the Peltier element to supply the electricity that it needs to work. A low power circuit and the appropriate software are needed to save the voltage generated.
