Entre a multiplicidade de práticas e criadores que o atual panorama teatral oferece dentro do âmbito de Teatro e Comunidade, procurei criar uma reflexão abrangente e sistemática sobre este tema, onde o Teatro ocupará o lugar de objecto de análise na sua relação com a Comunidade. Deste modo, o trabalho proposto versará sobre as reflexões acerca do teatro e Comunidade, a sua contextualização no trabalho já realizado , assim como uma reflexão pessoal acerca do mesmo. Assim e inevitavelmente esta dissertação reflete também sobre a arte em geral e o teatro em particular. Numa temática que se pretende abrangente,este trabalho procura enquadrar as disciplinas práticas e teóricas do Mestrado em Teatro e Comunidade na Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, o meu percurso profissional, assim como os autores de reflexão que se enquadram nesta perspectiva. Procurando não encerrar o tema, proponho um objecto de análise dinâmico, reflexivo e abrangente. Assente numa análise pragmática, esta dissertação pretende abordar as diferentes formas que o Teatro adquire na sua relação com a comunidade.

Electrocardiogram (ECG) biometrics are a relatively recent trend in biometric recognition, with at least 13 years of development in peer-reviewed literature. Most of the proposed biometric techniques perform classifi-cation on features extracted from either heartbeats or from ECG based transformed signals. The best representation is yet to be decided. This paper studies an alternative representation, a dissimilarity space, based on the pairwise dissimilarity between templates and subjects' signals. Additionally, this representation can make use of ECG signals sourced from multiple leads. Configurations of three leads will be tested and contrasted with single-lead experiments. Using the same k-NN classifier the results proved superior to those obtained through a similar algorithm which does not employ a dissimilarity representation. The best Authentication EER went as low as 1:53% for a database employing 503 subjects. However, the employment of extra leads did not prove itself advantageous.

ABSTRACT - Derek Jarman was a multifaceted artist whose intermedial versatility reinforces a strong authorial discourse. He constructs an immersive allegorical world of hybrid art where different layers of cinematic, theatrical and painterly materials come together to convey a lyrical form and express a powerful ideological message. In Caravaggio (1986) and Edward II (1991), Jarman approaches two european historical figures from two different but concomitant perspectives. In Caravaggio, through the use of tableaux of abstract meaning and by focusing on the detailing of the models’ poses, Jarman re-enacts the allegorical spirit of Caravaggio’s paintings through entirely cinematic resources. Edward II was a king, and as a statesman he possessed a certain dose of showmanship. In this film Jarman reconstructs the theatrical basis of Christopher Marlowe’s Elizabethan play bringing it up to date in a successfully abstract approach to the musical stage. In this article, I intend to conjoin the practice of allegory in film with certain notions of existential phenomenology as advocated by Vivian Sobchack and Laura U. Marks, in order to address the relationship between the corporeality of the film and the lived bodies of the spectators. In this context, the allegory is a means to convey intradiegetically the sense-ability at play in the cinematic experience, reinforcing the textural and sensual nature of both film and viewer, which, in turn, is also materially enhanced in the film proper, touching the spectator in a supplementary fashion. The two corporealities favour an inter-artistic immersion achieved through coenaesthesia.

Biometric recognition is emerging has an alternative solution for applications where the privacy of the information is crucial. This paper presents an embedded biometric recognition system based on the Electrocardiographic signals (ECG) for individual identification and authentication. The proposed system implements a real-time state-of-the-art recognition algorithm, which extracts information from the frequency domain. The system is based on a ARM Cortex 4. Preliminary results show that embedded platforms are a promising path for the implementation of ECG-based applications in real-world scenario.
