María Eugenia Dengo Obregón: vislumbre del pensamiento filosófico y humanista de su obra

María Eugenia Dengo es una de las principales pensadoras y educadoras del siglo XX, su obra está sumergida en una serie de ideas filosóficas y humanistas que le permitieron vislumbrar algunas de las necesidades educativas costarricenses. Con el estudio y seguimiento de varios filósofos costarricenses, empezando con su padre Omar Dengo, su tesis basada en los poemas de Roberto Brenes Mesén y de la mano con Dra. Emma Gamboa, inició un largo camino en la investigación educativa con cimentos humanistas. Abstract María Eugenia Dengo is one of the most outstanding thinkers and teachers of the 20th. Century in Costa Rica. Her work, developed throughout her philosophical and humanistic thinking, fulfilled some of the most urgent educational needs of the country. Throughout the study of several Costa Rican thinkers, starting by his own father, Omar Dengo, followed by her thesis dissertation on Roberto Brenes Mesén poems and side by side with Dr. Emma Gamboa, Dengo set off the road in educational research and its humanistic foundations. Communication in the Seventh Grade Classroom

Reflections on communication in the learning process at the level of the seventh year of secondary education based on the methodological and pedagogical approaches, considered in research of a multidisciplinary team of the CIDE of UNA (National University), with the aim of building the “teaching performance profile for the seventh year of Costa Rican education”. It demonstrates the role of teachers to ensure favorable communication links to the learning process, not only to capture the attention and interest of students through varied and systematic motivations, but also by the honesty, openness, personal example and involvement in the task, problems and aspirations of students.

Concerning the social role, humanistic mission, professional training and development of knowledge pursued by state universities, this article poses the challenge of valuing the difference and acknowledging diversity as a true commitment to society. From the standpoint of diversity, the article proposes to embrace the population with disabilities from the time of entrance and admission to Universidad Nacional.

Construcción del perfil profesional docente de sétimo año: respuesta a una necesidad actual

In our country, the seventh grade is the level with the highest desertion and failure rate in high school. This was the main reason that motivated this group of researchers to define the teachers’ professional profile at this level. Based on a definition of the teachers’ characteristics, the concept of how a profile should be, the age features of seventh graders and all those aspects that benefit the teaching-learning processes, the optimum and required profile of the seventh graders’ teachers is proposed.

The Proyecto Perfiles, Dinámicas y Desafíos de la Educación Costarricense executed by CIDE at Universidad Nacional researches the topic of students’ diversity and equality in the seventh grade of Costa Rican Secondary Public Schools. The article includes recommendations given by seventh grade teachers from different regions of the country to address diversity in the seventh grade classroom.

La población estudiantil en el sétimo año de la educación pública costarricense

Seventh grade students share personal characteristics that are analyzed in this paper based on the teachers´ performance of the proper mediation for the students´ learning. The results of an investigation done with the model of teachers´ profiles at this level will be the basis for this paper (Alfaro et al, 2008a). We conclude that the biopsychosocial development and maturational stage of the transit-preteen-teen children must be the domain of faculty at this level, as well as, the socioeconomic context of family and social contexts of their students.

La investigación educativa interdisciplinaria integrada en el Centro de Investigación y Docencia en Educación (CIDE): un aporte de las Unidades Académicas y del INEINA

The project called Perfiles, Dinámicas y Desafíos de la Educación Costarricense (Profiles, Dynamics and Challenges of the Costa Rican Education) in its various working phases it conducts interdisciplinary educational research at an integrated level at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia en Educación (CIDE) (Research and Teaching Center) from Universidad Nacional in Costa Rica. This article discusses the importance of taking into account outcomes and products of such research work within the various majors that CIDE offers.

El equipo de investigación: un reto y una realidad

This paper presents the different initial challenges, work processes, team formation and learning content obtained by researchers of the interdisciplinary team of the project called Proyecto Perfiles, Dinámicas y Desafíos de la Educación Costarricense (Profiles, Dynamics and Challenges of the Costa Rican Education) of Centro de Investigación y Docencia en Educación (CIDE) (Research and Teaching Center), from Universidad Nacional, in its third phase. Espacios vitales de aprendizaje: su ecología en el sétimo año de la educación pública costarricense

The present article is the result of an investigation between CIDE-UNA to build a desirable profile for teachers that might teach seventh grade in Costa Rican public education schools. This article evidences transparency in the ecology of learning spaces, known as the environment, the actors involved and their complex interrelations. There is also a description of these spaces and their incidence in the permanence and promotion of the students population, in the singular moment in which the educational system imposes them the first and rough institutional changes coinciding with physical transformations and social and familiar relationships.

La integración curricular: Una experiencia en el primer nivel de diplomado de la carrera de Licenciatura en Pedagogía con énfasis en Educación Preescolar

Recibido 28 de setiembre de 2011 • Aceptado 24 de octubre de 2011 • Corregido 06 de noviembre de 2011     Se plantea una reflexión acerca de la experiencia de integración curricular realizada por académicos y académicas universitarias, del primer nivel de diplomado de la carrera de Licenciatura en Pedagogía con énfasis en Educación Preescolar, de la División de Educación Básica de la Universidad Nacional, durante el primer semestre del año 2011. La integración ha sido concebida por el equipo del nivel como un proceso de crecimiento personal y profesional, para generar oportunidades que permitan el fortalecimiento de equipos docentes y de los cursos del nivel, en procura de brindar mayores oportunidades para el desarrollo estudiantil.

The paper compares the ideas and approaches of various authors, and points out the relevance of the topic to promote inclusive education in higher education.

Epistemological Views from Different Theoretical Perspectives of Disability

This paper provides theoretical perspectives and the corresponding epistemological approaches on the study of disabilities.  It explains diverse focuses to see disabilities from their different points of view; it also includes debates between those focuses. This paper contributes to a conceptual-theoretical clarification for the study and research on disabilities.
