[Es] Una de las consecuencias del creciente paso de estudiantes por múltiples universidades europeas gracias al programa Erasmus (unos 700 anuales desde la UPV/EHU hacia más de trescientos centros) es el acercamiento de la propia universidad hacia otros modelos de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Así desde el convenciemiento de que la vivencia personal en Erasmus puede y debe convertirse en conocimiento significativo compartido entre discentes y docentes, hemos desarrollado una experiencia de investigación con un grupo de veinte estudiantes de nuestra universidad durante su curso en un centro extranjero. Para ello hemos utilizado la plataforma virtual moodle, la cual ha permitido poner en comunicación a este grupo, disperso por toda Europa, y a los responsables del proyecto. Asimismo hemos realizado un análisis cualitativo de los debates surgidos en la plataforma, utilizando el software NVivo7, que nos ha permitido extraer las conclusiones. Algunas de ellas ilustran diferentes modelos pedagógicos entre las universidades del norte y del sur europeos, así como la valoración que las y los estudiantes hacen de ellos. Otras van más allá de los objetivos inicialmente planteados y nos hablan de las necesidades de comunicación de estas y estos estudiantes durante el periplo (administrativas, afectivas, vivenciales o de construcción de sentido de lo que están viviendo), así como de la ideoneidad de instrumentos como moodle para hacerlas frente.

Traditional software development captures the user needs during the requirement analysis. The Web makes this endeavour even harder due to the difficulty to determine who these users are. In an attempt to tackle the heterogeneity of the user base, Web Personalization techniques are proposed to guide the users’ experience. In addition, Open Innovation allows organisations to look beyond their internal resources to develop new products or improve existing processes. This thesis sits in between by introducing Open Personalization as a means to incorporate actors other than webmasters in the personalization of web applications. The aim is to provide the technological basis that builds up a trusty environment for webmasters and companion actors to collaborate, i.e. "an architecture of participation". Such architecture very much depends on these actors’ profile. This work tackles three profiles (i.e. software partners, hobby programmers and end users), and proposes three "architectures of participation" tuned for each profile. Each architecture rests on different technologies: a .NET annotation library based on Inversion of Control for software partners, a Modding Interface in JavaScript for hobby programmers, and finally, a domain specific language for end-users. Proof-of-concept implementations are available for the three cases while a quantitative evaluation is conducted for the domain specific language.

When asked to give a paper at this conference I choosee "Incentive to encourage youth employment" but very soon into my research I felt that the overall approach to unemployment by succesive Irish Governments offered more valuable insights into this serious problem and the lack of recognition of how serious this problem is. This is particulary so for small economies and regions on the periphery of the EU.

[EN] The higher education regulation process in Europe, known as the Bologna Process, has involved many changes, mainly in relation to methodology and assessment. The paper given below relates to implementing the new EU study plans into the Teacher Training College of Vitoria-Gasteiz; it is the first interdisciplinary paper written involving teaching staff and related to the Teaching Profession module, the first contained in the structure of the new plans. The coordination of teaching staff is one of the main lines of work in the Bologna Process, which is also essential to develop the right skills and maximise the role of students as an active learning component. The use of active, interdisciplinary methodologies has opened up a new dimension in universities, requiring the elimination of the once componential, individual structure, making us look for new areas of exchange that make it possible for students' training to be developed jointly.

El presente trabajo expone el marco en el que cabe el desarrollo de las decisiones de Marketing en el comercio detallista actualmente, considerando los cambios en el comportamiento y hábitos de compra del cliente, condicionados por los avances tecnológicos y la crisis económica, entre otros. Se analizan algunos de los diferentes factores que deben ser gestionados para la creación de experiencias, y donde el marketing sensorial será protagonista, así como la necesidad de orientar las políticas hacia un comprador que aun siendo sensible al precio, cada vez valora más el factor emocional. Se profundiza en la gestión de la experiencia de compra, y en los factores que han de tenerse en cuenta para realizarla de forma eficiente. Finalmente, se estudia un caso exitoso de marketing experiencial donde puede observarse el uso de las variables analizadas previamente.

En el presente trabajo, se analiza el concepto de Marketing experiencial, aplicado a los establecimientos comerciales, lo que denominamos como Shopping Experience. Para ello, en primer lugar se explica el término teórico de Shopping Experience. A continuación se analiza el comportamiento del consumidor a lo largo de los últimos años, cómo han ido cambiando nuestros hábitos de compra y qué es lo que hacen los establecimientos comerciales para adaptarse a estas nuevas exigencias de los consumidores. Veremos nuevos modelos de establecimientos comerciales, donde se ofrece al cliente una experiencia memorable de compra y lo contrastaremos con ejemplos reales. Contamos con el testimonio de un ex – trabajador de Purificación García, donde hace una comparativa con la tienda de Carolina Herrera, y nos explica cuáles son las diferencias más significativas entre ambas, cómo son los diseños de las tiendas y qué papel juegan los sentidos a la hora de generar una experiencia de compra memorable. Finalmente veremos cómo los establecimientos comerciales pueden medir el impacto de estas experiencias en sus clientes y tras realizar un análisis teórico – práctico, se exponen las conclusiones del presente trabajo. The aim of the present study was to investigate the functional role of syllables in sign language and how the different phonological combinations influence sign production. Moreover, the influence of age of acquisition was evaluated. Deaf signers (native and non-native) of Catalan Signed Language (LSC) were asked in a picture-sign interference task to sign picture names while ignoring distractor-signs with which they shared two phonological parameters (out of three of the main sign parameters: Location, Movement, and Handshape). The results revealed a different impact of the three phonological combinations. While no effect was observed for the phonological combination Handshape-Location, the combination Handshape-Movement slowed down signing latencies, but only in the non-native group. A facilitatory effect was observed for both groups when pictures and distractors shared Location-Movement. Importantly, linguistic models have considered this phonological combination to be a privileged unit in the composition of signs, as syllables are in spoken languages. Thus, our results support the functional role of syllable units during phonological articulation in sign language production.

The past years have seen an increasing debate on cooperation and its unique human character. Philosophers and psychologists have proposed that cooperative activities are characterized by shared goals to which participants are committed through the ability to understand each other’s intentions. Despite its popularity, some serious issues arise with this approach to cooperation. First, one may challenge the assumption that high-level mental processes are necessary for engaging in acting cooperatively. If they are, then how do agents that do not possess such ability (preverbal children, or children with autism who are often claimed to be mind-blind) engage in cooperative exchanges, as the evidence suggests? Secondly, to define cooperation as the result of two de-contextualized minds reading each other’s intentions may fail to fully acknowledge the complexity of situated, interactional dynamics and the interplay of variables such as the participants’ relational and personal history and experience. In this paper we challenge such accounts of cooperation, calling for an embodied approach that sees cooperation not only as an individual attitude toward the other, but also as a property of interaction processes. Taking an enactive perspective, we argue that cooperation is an intrinsic part of any interaction, and that there can be cooperative interaction before complex communicative abilities are achieved. The issue then is not whether one is able or not to read the other’s intentions, but what it takes to participate in joint action. From this basic account, it should be possible to build up more complex forms of cooperation as needed. Addressing the study of cooperation in these terms may enhance our understanding of human social development, and foster our knowledge of different ways of engaging with others, as in the case of autism.

Elucidating the intricate relationship between brain structure and function, both in healthy and pathological conditions, is a key challenge for modern neuroscience. Recent progress in neuroimaging has helped advance our understanding of this important issue, with diffusion images providing information about structural connectivity (SC) and functional magnetic resonance imaging shedding light on resting state functional connectivity (rsFC). Here, we adopt a systems approach, relying on modular hierarchical clustering, to study together SC and rsFC datasets gathered independently from healthy human subjects. Our novel approach allows us to find a common skeleton shared by structure and function from which a new, optimal, brain partition can be extracted. We describe the emerging common structure-function modules (SFMs) in detail and compare them with commonly employed anatomical or functional parcellations. Our results underline the strong correspondence between brain structure and resting-state dynamics as well as the emerging coherent organization of the human brain.

[ES] Este trabajo explora el rol de los sistemas de la contabilidad de gestión en el desempeño de Joint Ventures (JV) del tipo 50/50 en la industria autopartista. Se investiga el impacto que la experiencia previa de los directivos tiene sobre la intensidad y propósito de uso de los sistemas de la contabilidad de gestión y como ellos afectan el desempeño de JVs. El estudio de este fenómeno surge a partir de los resultados reportados en tres estudios de campo exploratorios en JVs (Groot y Merchant 2000) y de otros tres casos de JVs internacionales en la industria autopartista (Porporato 2013) en donde se sugieren que el efecto de los sistemas de control de gestión en el desempeño organizacional es secundario. Los resultados aquí reportados se basan en una encuesta efectuada a 35 JV internacionales y ofrece resultados alineados con la literatura existente. Los resultados muestran que el desempeño organizacional mejora cuando se reduce la incertidumbre de factores percibidos como controlables por los directivos; un factor se percibe como controlable cuando mayor es la experiencia que el directivo tiene con el mismo. La incertidumbre, según la define Galbraith (1973), se reduce vía un uso intensivo de los sistemas de contabilidad de gestión, lo que su vez impacta positivamente en el desempeño organizacional.
