[ES]El objetivo del presente proyecto es la programación, mediante la herramienta Labview, de un software para la lectura y almacenamiento de los datos recogidos por un inclinómetro analógico de la marca STW Technic. Una vez el programa esté listo, se procederá a realizar una serie de pruebas mediante vibraciones a distintas frecuencias y con distinta amplitud de ángulo para determinar los límites de medida del sensor.

The 2009/28/EC Directive requires Member States of the European Union to adopt a National Action Plan for Renewable Energy. In this context, the Basque Energy Board, EVE, is committed to research activities such as the Mutriku Oscillating Water Column plant, OWC. This is an experimental facility whose concept consists of a turbine located in a pneumatic energy collection chamber and a doubly fed induction generator that converts energy extracted by the turbine into a form that can be returned to the network. The turbo-generator control requires a precise knowledge of system parameters and of the rotor angular velocity in particular. Thus, to remove the rotor speed sensor implies a simplification of the hardware that is always convenient in rough working conditions. In this particular case, a Luenberger based observer is considered and the effectiveness of the proposed control is shown by numerical simulations. Comparing these results with those obtained using a traditional speed sensor, it is shown that the proposed solution provides better performance since it increases power extraction in the sense that it allows a more reliable and robust performance of the plant, which is even more relevant in a hostile environment as the ocean.

[ES]El South Pointing Chariot es un antiguo mecanismo de origen chino usado en sus inicios como instrumento de orientación, siendo su principal característica la existencia de un punto que siempre tiene velocidad angular absoluta nula. Tomando sus fundamentos como base, es posible realizar sistemas de guiado en direcciones estacionarias con múltiples aplicaciones en la actualidad, pudiendo usarse, por ejemplo, como sistema estabilizador. Para ello, debe realizarse su análisis cinemático, para comprender su funcionamiento, y comprobar que los resultados son correctos, pudiéndose hacer esto mediante un prototipo. La realización del prototipo engloba su diseño y posterior fabricación.

El objetivo de este proyecto ha sido el de diseñar un sistema de suspensión englobado en el ámbito de la competición interuniversitaria MotoStudent. Además de la normativa de la competición, dicha suspensión debe cumplir una serie de requisitos extra impuestos por el equipo de MotoStudent de la ETSI de Bilbao. Las características principales de la suspensión en cuestión deben ser las siguientes:  La rigidez del sistema de suspensión debe ser progresiva, de forma que se comporte como una suspensión blanda a bajas solicitaciones, y como una suspensión dura a altas solicitaciones.  A fin de poder adaptar la suspensión de la moto a diferentes circuitos, el esta deberá estar dotada de un sistema de regulación. Para ello el sistema de suspensión elegido es el sistema por bieletas tipo Pro- Link, cuya principal característica es que, en dicha solución, el balancín no solo tiene movimiento angular, sino que tiene también movimiento lineal, de forma que es mucho más versátil a la hora de diseñar. This work is aimed at optimizing the wind turbine rotor speed setpoint algorithm. Several intelligent adjustment strategies have been investigated in order to improve a reward function that takes into account the power captured from the wind and the turbine speed error. After different approaches including Reinforcement Learning, the best results were obtained using a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-based wind turbine speed setpoint algorithm. A reward improvement of up to 10.67% has been achieved using PSO compared to a constant approach and 0.48% compared to a conventional approach. We conclude that the pitch angle is the most adequate input variable for the turbine speed setpoint algorithm compared to others such as rotor speed, or rotor angular acceleration.

We review the appropriateness of using SNIa observations to detect potential signatures of anisotropic expansion in the Universe. We focus on Union2 and SNLS3 SNIa datasets and use the hemispherical comparison method to detect possible anisotropic features. Unlike some previous works where nondiagonal elements of the covariance matrix were neglected, we use the full covariance matrix of the SNIa data, thus obtaining more realistic and not underestimated errors. As a matter of fact, the significance of previously claimed detections of a preferred direction in the Union2 dataset completely disappears once we include the effects of using the full covariance matrix. Moreover, we also find that such apreferred direction is aligned with the orthogonal direction of the SDSS observational plane and this suggests a clear indication that the SDSS subsample of the Union2 dataset introduces a significant bias, making the detected preferred direction unphysical. We thus find that current SNIa surveys are inappropriate to test anisotropic features due to their highly non-homogeneous angular distribution in the sky. In addition, after removal of the highest in homogeneous sub-samples, the number of SNIa is too low. Finally, we take advantage of the particular distribution of SNLS SNIa sub- sample in the SNLS3 data set, in which the observations were taken along four different directions. We fit each direction independently and find consistent results at the 1 sigma level. Although the likelihoods peak at relatively different values of Omega(m), the low number of data along each direction gives rise to large errors so that the likelihoods are sufficiently broad as to overlap within 1 sigma.
