A senhora dona da memória: autobiografia e memorialismo em obras de Zélia Gattai

A presente pesquisa consistiu nas análises de cinco obras memorialísticas da escritora Zélia Gattai: Anarquistas graças a Deus (1979), Um Chapéu para a Viagem (1982), Senhora Dona do Baile (1984), Jardim de Inverno (1988) e Città di Roma (2000). A autora adentrou ao campo literário tardiamente aos 63 anos de idade, pois antes de ser escritora desenvolveu o trabalho como revisora e datilógrafa do esposo, Jorge Amado, desde Seara Vermelha, publicado em 1946, além de dedicar-se a arte fotográfica a partir do exílio europeu (1948-1952), atividade que desenvolveu por toda a sua vida. A pesquisa, teve enfoque no memorialismo da autora a partir do final da década de 1970 até o final do século XX, aborda tanto a prática da construção de si em seus textos autobiográficos quanto um mapeamento da construção de sua memória, a partir de alguns documentos e periódicos, o que acredita-se permite caracterizar em sua trajetória o protagonismo que lhe permitiu adentrar alguns espaços pouco ocupados por mulheres, e a realizar-se profissionalmente, afirmar-se para além do papel de esposa de um ilustre escritor.

This research consists of the analysis of five memoirs by writer Zélia Gattai:Anarchists, Thank God (Anarquistas graças a Deus) (1979), A Hat for a Voyage (Um Chapéu para a Viagem) (1982), The Lady of the Ball (Senhora Dona do Baile) (1984), Winter Garden (Jardim de Inverno) (1988) and Città di Roma (2000). The author entered the literary field late, at 63 years of age, because before becoming a writer, she worked as a proofreader and typist for her husband, Jorge Amado, since Red Field (Seara Vermelha), published in 1946, other than dedicating herself to the art of photography, which she took up during the european exile (1948 – 1952), an activity she pursued thoughout her whole life. The reasearch, focused on the memorialistic aspect of the author, going from the late nineteen seventies to the end of the twentieth century, addresses both the construction of the self in her autobiographic texts and a mapping of the construction of her memory, with the help of some documents and periodicals, which we believe will allow us to characterize, in her trajectory, the prominence that allowed her to penetrate spaces rarely occupied by women, and to be professionally accomplished, establishing as more than the wife of an illustrious writer.
