El propòsit dâaquest estudi és analitzar quin és lâíndex dâefectivitat en diferents situacions a pilota aturada (penals, faltes sense barrera i córners) en el futbol platja dins el context dâequips amateurs que participen en els tornejos de Blanes i Tossa de Mar. A lâhora de realitzar-lo he tingut en compte una sèrie de variables, com ara la precisió del colpeig, el tipus de colpeig, la superfície de contacte o la situació inicial de la pilota, és a dir, des dâon provenia la trajectòria inicial dâ aquesta, tot comprovant també com canvien els resultats en funció de la zona i del costat que es realitza el remat. Respecte els resultats, aquests demostren que lâíndex dâefectivitat en aquest tipus dâaccions és més baix en relació amb altres esports semblants com el futbol i el futbol sala.

Lâobjectiu del present estudi va consistir en estudiar el percentatge de gols a pilota aturada de la Lliga BBVA i la Premier League, establint el percentatge dâefectivitat de cadascuna dâelles. A més, es volia analitzar la freqüència de les diferents tipus dâaccions a pilota aturada i substituir el terme estratègia per accions a pilota aturada. Amb aquest objectiu es van analitzar 80 partits disputats per equips de futbol professional en la temporada 2012-13 de la Lliga BBVA i la Premier League mitjançant lâanàlisi de vídeos. Les variable dependent era la consecució o no del gol, tenint com a variables independents 4 tipus dâaccions a pilota aturada: tirs lliures directes, tirs lliures indirectes, córners i penals. Els resultats indiquen un major número de gols provinents dâaccions a pilota aturada en la Lliga BBVA que en la Premier League, 29,8% per un 23,4% respectivament. Tot i això, sâha comprovat com els percentatges dâefectivitat són pràcticament idèntics: 4,54% a la Lliga BBVA i 4,58% a la Premier League. Finalment, sâha identificat el córner com lâacció que més es produeix en el joc, seguit de les faltes directes, els penals i les faltes indirectes.

Fin field effect transistors (FinFETS) are silicon-on-insulator (SOI) transistors with three-dimensional structures. As a result of some fabrication-process limitations (as nonideal anisotropic overetch) some FinFETs have inclined surfaces, which results in trapezoidal cross sections instead of rectangular sections, as expected. This geometric alteration results in some device issues, like carrier profile, threshold voltage, and corner effects. This work analyzes these consequences based on three-dimensional numeric simulation of several dual-gate and triple-gate FinFETs. The simulation results show that the threshold voltage depends on the sidewall inclination angle and that this dependence varies according to the body doping level. The corner effects also depend on the inclination angle and doping level. (C) 2008 The Electrochemical Society.

A new assessment of the aluminum corner of the quaternary Al-Fe-Mn-Si system has been made that extends beyond the COST-507 database. This assessment makes use of a recent, improved description of the ternary Al-Fe-Si system. In the present work, modeling of the Al-rich corner of the quaternary Al-Fe-Mn-Si system has been carried out by introducing Fe solubility into the so-called alpha-AlMnSi and beta-AlMnSi phases of the Al-Mn-Si system. A critical review of the data available on the quaternary system is presented and used for the extension of the description of these ternary phases into the quaternary Al-Fe-Mn-Si.

The design of anchorage blisters of internal continuity post-tensioning tendons of bridges built by the cantilever method, presents some peculiarities, not only because they are intermediate anchorages but also because these anchorages are located in blisters, so the prestressing force has to be transferred from the blister the bottom slab and web of the girder. The high density of steel reinforcement in anchorage blisters is the most common reason for problems with concrete cast in situ, resulting in zones with low concrete compacity, leading to concrete crushing failures under the anchor plates. A solution may involve improving the concrete compression and tensile strength. To meet these requirements a high-performance fibre reinforced self-compacting mix- ture (HPFRC) was used in anchorage corner blisters of post-tensioning tendons, reducing the concrete cross-section and decreasing the reinforcement needed. To assess the ultimate capacity and the adequate serviceability of the local anchorage zone after reducing the minimum concrete cross-section and the confining reinforcement, specified by the anchorage device supplier for the particular tendon, load transfer tests were performed. To investigate the behaviour of anchorage blisters regarding the transmission of stresses to the web and the bottom slab of the girder, and the feasibility of using high performance concrete only in the blister, two half scale models of the inferior corner of a box girder existing bridge were studied: a reference specimen of ordinary reinforced concrete and a HPFRC blister specimen. The design of the reinforcement was based in the tensile forces obtained on strut-and-tie models. An experimental program was carried out to assess the models used in design and to study the feasibility of using high performance concrete only in the blister, either with casting in situ, or with precast solutions. A non-linear finite element analysis of the tested specimens was also performed and the results compared.

Posterolateral corner (PLC) injuries of the knee are uncommon injury patterns that may result in significant degrees of functional disability. When surgery is necessary to address this injury a good knowledge of anatomy and a good surgical exposure is the mainstay. This report reviews the complex anatomy of the posterolateral corner (PLC) of knee and describes the osteotomy of Gerdy tubercle as a technical variant to approach this anatomical region. This surgical step allowing a good mobilisation of the multiple layers of ilio-tibial tract from distal to proximal makes an excellent exposure of the PLC structures with absence of morbidity.
