A relação teoria e prática em projetos de educação ambiental desenvolvidos em um bairro de Bauru, SP, Brasil

This study examines the relationship between theory and practice that emerges from two Environmental Projects that were carried out in a popular neighborhood of Bauru, SP, . In order to analyze the data, given the diversity of theoretical and practical approaches and concepts in environmental education, we chose as a theoretical foundation critical environmental education. Considering the techniques used in the methodological procedures of qualitative research in education, we elected, as a tool to collect information, content analysis. The results presented in this paper indicate the need to break the dichotomy between form (practice) and content (theory) in the environmental educational process, focusing on the systematized and historically constructed contents. Thus, we consider the environmental education process analyzed involve treating form and content as a dialectic unit.

Concepção e Implementação de um Sistema de Controle de Arborização Urbana através da Integração de Softwares Livres e de Código Aberto

Suitable computacional tools allow to build applications that can link information to its physical location, and represent them into visual and interactive schemes, e ectively reaching the power of visual comunication. This leads the user to synthesize information in a simple and e cient way. These applications are linked to the de nition of Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS are comprised by many concepts and tools, which have the main purpose of collecting, storing, viewing and processing spatial data, obtaining the information needed for decision making. Within this context, this paper presents the Conception and Implementation of a Control System for Urban Forestry through Integration of Free and Open Source Software. This conception arose from the need of an Environmental Project developed by the Agriculture's House of the city of Regente Feij o, which has as main objectives cataloging and management of urban a orestation of the municipality. Due to this diversity of concepts, the challenge in building this system is the integration of platforms that are involved in all stages: collecting and storage of data, including maps and other spatial information, operations on the stored information, obtaining results and graphical visualization of the same. After implementation, it was possible to provide for the system users an improvement in the capacity of perception in the information analysis and facilitate the process of decision making

The article shows how the monitoring of the water quality can be utilized in an inter-disciplinary pedagogical project involving Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry and Microbiology making the apprenticeship more dynamic and consolidating the link between the student and the community.

Governance empreendedora : um projeto sócio-ambiental para o desenvolvimento econômico : Santos, 1989-1992

O presente trabalho trata da questão da governance e do empreendedorismo, ou seja, da governance empreendedora, enquanto instrumentos para que um governo local promova o desenvolvimento econômico e social e alcance a sustentabilidade política e econômica, frente ao paradoxo da globalização. Averigüando a possibilidade do exercrcio da governance empreendedora, traz como estudo de caso, o governo santista de 1989 a 1992, conduzido por Teima de Souza. Aborda as políticas públicas formuladas e adotadas no período, referentes às questões ambientais e de saúde, levadas a termo pelo governo local, bem como, problemas pertinentes à questão portuária e de participação popular, procurando identificar na lide governamental os princípios da governance e do empreendedorismo.

Das ondas que se fizeram mar em Rio Grande : a construção de um projeto de educação ambiental no entrelaçamento das trajetórias de vida dos seus autores

Este trabalho apresenta um estudo sobre a proposta de Educação Ambiental (EA) Ondas que te quero mar, desenvolvida pelo Núcleo de Educação e Monitoramento Ambiental, na cidade do Rio Grande/RS, para a Rede Pública de Ensino Municipal, articulado com as trajetórias de vida de seus autores, onde procuro demonstrar essa conexão no quefazer metodológico dessa proposta. As reflexões aqui expostas baseiam-se em referenciais teóricos sobre Educação, Educação Ambiental e Pesquisa Social, sendo a maioria produzida no âmbito da América Latina e, particularmente, no Brasil. São enfatizadas, nessa dissertação, várias categorias emergentes do campo ambiental e da educação enquanto áreas do conhecimento. Destaco uma compreensão da categoria identidade e do movimento ambientalista em uma perspectiva não reducionista, mas múltipla. Dentre os meus principais referenciais teóricos, encontram-se: Leonardo Boff, Carlos Rodrigues Brandão, Isabel Carvalho, Enrique Leff, Paulo Freire e Alberto Melucci. Fiz a escolha metodológica de realizar um estudo de caso, servindo-me de elementos que se referem ao método biográfico, a fim de trabalhar devidamente as informações obtidas ao longo do processo de pesquisa, procurando sempre realizar um diálogo com a fundamentação teórica adotada. Procuro discutir a metodologia Ondas conectando-a com as trajetórias dos sujeitos da pesquisa e aclarando suas principais categorias com base nos autores estudados. Para tanto, analiso o documento referência do programa de Educação Ambiental do NEMA, destacando a sua concepção de EA. E, por fim, concluo tecendo uma breve listagem das principais aprendizagens percebidas ao final do trabalho de produção desta minha dissertação de mestrado.

Controle sanitário e ambiental de um projeto de reúso em um complexo de prédios corporativos

The study that resulted in this dissertation was developed at OU RNCE PETROBRAS, in Natal, which implemented a project of rational use and reuse of water, including use of wastewater from a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) already in place, diluted with water from own wells for irrigation of green area of the building complex corporate enterprise. Establish a methodology that can serve as guidelines for future projects controlled reuse of water like this was the objective of this research. Been proposed, implemented and evaluated three instruments of sanitary and environmental control: 1) adaptation of sewage treatment plant and quality control of the treated effluent 2) analysis of soil-nutrient interaction in the irrigated area, 3) knowledge of the local hydrogeology, especially with regard to the direction of flow of the aquifer and location of collection wells of Companhia de Águas e Esgotos do Rio Grande do Norte (CAERN) situated in the surroundings. These instruments have proven sufficient and appropriate to ensure the levels of sanitary and environmental control proposed and studied, which were: a) control of water quality off the STP and the output of the irrigation reservoir, b) control of water quality sub surface soil and assessment of progress on soil composition, c) assessment of water quality in the aquifer. For this, we must: 1) establishing the monitoring plan of the STP and its effluent quality sampling points and defining the parameters of analysis, improve the functioning of that identifying the adequacy of flow and screening as the main factors of operational control, and increase the efficiency of the station to a relatively low cost, using additional filters, 2) propose, implement and adapt simple collectors to assess the quality of water percolating into the soil of the irrigated area, 3) determine the direction of groundwater flow in the area study and select the wells for monitoring of the aquifer.
