Sabe-se até hoje, que falar sobre o corpo não é só tratar de matéria. O corpo tem uma importância bastante grande e interessante dentro do contexto social e filosófico. Sócrates, Platão, Descartes são exemplos de filósofos que tentavam compreender o corpo de alguma forma. Desde a Grécia Antiga, o corpo é encarado como um santuário. Os Jogos Olímpicos representavam essa visão, com toda a beleza de corpos atléticos e vigorosos. Ficava clara a concepção de que um corpo bonito e saudável era sinônimo de beleza e virilidade. Mas nem sempre isso foi assim. Na Idade Média, corpos bonitos eram aqueles que, esteticamente falando, não pareciam tão atraentes assim. Ser gordo nessa época representava saúde. Para as mulheres, ser gorda significava ser uma boa reprodutora e mãe de filhos saudáveis. Além disso, a Igreja exercia forte influência nessa época, chegando até a extinguir os Jogos Olímpicos. Qualquer culto ao corpo era estritamente proibido. Até chegarmos aos dias de hoje, o corpo passou por diversas modificações. O que se vê hoje, são corpos construídos, seja pela mídia ou por cirurgias plásticas. A concepção de corpo da sociedade contemporânea é puramente artificial.

Esta dissertação trata da construção dos valores acerca do corpo que transforma aspectos estéticos em problemas de saúde física. Com base na pressuposição do compromisso de aliviar o sofrimento o cirurgião plástico busca, dentro do campo da saúde, justificativas para sua atuação. Por outro lado, na aspiração por modelos de beleza socialmente prestigiados há também a procura pela transformação pessoal com a construção e afirmação de papéis sociais, o que contribui para a maior aceitação das intervenções cirúrgicas com finalidade estética. Seguindo tendências estéticas sempre em mutação, observa-se, na atualidade, uma grande demanda por cirurgia plástica para colocação de implantes de silicone com objetivo de aumento mamário. Tomando como recorte a utilização de tais implantes, buscou-se analisar a construção médica e social da beleza e compreender como a procura e a prática da cirurgia plástica estão ligadas a valores controversamente aceitos ou criticados na sociedade contemporânea.

Talking about body and beauty seems fairly familiar to physical education. We understand that the body language in the area provides many meanings over the appearance, beauty and aesthetics, thus requiring the need of criticism and the need to interrogate her to realize how physical education has been re-signified. For this purpose, considering the multiplicity of meanings that surround the body and beauty, we discussed the implications that this brings to the area of Physical Education, analyzing the conception of body and beauty in the studies in this area, at the masters level, from some questions: What conceptions of body and beauty have been discussed in the studies of physical education at the masters level? What is the relationship between the meanings of body and beauty products analyzed and identified in the models of beauty outlined in Physical Education? We understand the importance of this research and its contribution to the epistemological analysis of existing studies. And, mainly because there is a lack of studies that discuss these productions. For construction of this text and for our reflections, we rely on thoughts like David Le Breton, Claude Levi- Strauss, Michel Foucault, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Ana Marcia Silva, Carmen Smith, Isabel Mendes, Karenin Porpino Nobrega and flounder. The present study is characterized as a qualitative research, and content analysis proposed by Laurence Bardin (1977) for data processing. The corpus was composed of eight essays in the area of Physical Education, published in the CAPES Theses Database for the period 2004 to 2008, selected from the subject and body beauty. The initial reading allowed us to select meaningful units and guide our discussions on two main themes, which make up the two chapters of the work. In the first chapter, entitled Body, beauty and culture, as evidenced understandings of body, nature and culture that are present in the work is considered. In the second chapter, Standard Body Transformations and beauty, we present the concepts of body and beauty found in the dissertation, focusing on the mutability of representations of the models of beauty in body singularities in the relations of power-knowledge and the importance given the body in society, especially with regard to physical education professionals. We have thus found that, considering the dissertations analyzed, the understanding of body and beauty has been resignified, when dealing with other aesthetic conceptions that consider the uniqueness expressed in the human body and the culture of which the individual belongs

Falar em corpo e beleza parece algo bastante familiar à Educação Física. Para tanto, consideraremos a relação entre os significados do corpo e da beleza identificados nas produções analisadas e os modelos de beleza na Educação Física. Essa pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa, tendo a Análise de Conteúdo para tratamento dos dados. O corpus de análise foi composto por 8 dissertações da área de Educação Física, publicadas no Banco de Teses da Capes no período de 2004 a 2008, selecionados a partir da temática corpo e beleza. Diante do exposto, foi possível observar que a compreensão do corpo e da beleza na área, vem sendo ressignificada ao admitir outras concepções estéticas de belo, o que representa o avanço ocorrido na área no trato do conhecimento do corpo e da beleza

Para tanto, consideraremos a relação entre os significados do corpo e da beleza identificados nas produções analisadas e os modelos de beleza na Educação Física. The sportive television spectacle shows up like a media phenomenon which evidence performances and techniques that further on the community realized in the quotidian sportive practices into a show and play mixer, that more and more, sensibility the viewers. In this scenery , this research is about the relation between sportive television spectacle and viewer by the aesthetics perspective, and discussed the sport in the Physical Education context with the focus in the contributions to teaching in the school. The research, to the methodological view, uses the discuss analysis and realizes a qualitative study in two interdependent moments. In the first, analysis the dada collated in the Education, sport and television workshop. In the second, turns about TV images of sportive television spectacle to appreciated, to support a discuss of these phenomenon s aesthetics elements, looking for the relation established between the sportive television spectacle and viewer. The analysis s emphasis is in the sensations by sportive television spectacle, as well in the aesthetic elements problems promoted by this experience, from the two basics concepts, to know: the aesthetic and the synaesthetic perception. The analysis s corpus is composed by Esporte Espetacular TV program. Identify, in the sportive television spectacle appreciation, four big discuss axis of great importance between sportive television spectacle and viewer understanding: the relation space and time, the belonging feeling, the language interlacing, and beauty models. Understand in the analysis that, in the sportive TV scenery, occurs a construction image that seduces and involves the viewer through the aesthetics elements. From that discuss axis reflect about teaching sport in the school, main concern to the materialization a sport model only. Aims unfolding about space and time construction yet, and about the multiplicity language for to work in the school. The main purpose of this exploratory work is to investigate the attributes that motivate customers to choose services within beauty and aesthetic centers. Everyday, we are taking by surprise due to the discovery of new procedures that will make many dreams come true regarding youth¿s prolong. Customers are much more demanding now, so the beauty industry must emphasize the importance of beauty in our day lives. The old age fears, the need of men and women in getting close to the perfect beauty and looking great explaining the reason many customer looking for beauty and aesthetic centers to ¿postpone¿ the inevitable old age.This work focus on the increase of beauty and aesthetic industry market position, the quality of service provide by these centers, emphasize the concepts of service quoted by different authors, for instance, Lovelock (2006), Las Casas (2002), Kotler (1998), the characteristics of services, the behaviour of customers, the conceptualized models of service quality from Albrecht and Zemke (1998), moments of truth according to Carlzon (1994).This work presents a summary of beauty along the years; shows the methodology used and the interviews results showing the main quality service attributes in beauty and aesthetic centers; the difficulty faced and suggestion for future research.

A intenção de uso categoria de serviços e seu modelo vêm recebendo relativo interesse no meio acadêmico tanto como preditora do comportamento de compra, quanto como alternativa aos modelos de comportamento, os quais presumem que o indivíduo se recorda de suas experiências prévias com prestadores de serviços. Por acreditarem nesta premissa, normalmente os profissionais de marketing focam suas ações e esforços no nível de escolha do prestador do serviço, não atentando para as fases anteriores e aos antecedentes da compra do serviço, os quais têm um papel importante sobre a intenção de uso da categoria de serviço. Elementos relacionados ao serviço como qualidade e preço estarão relacionadas às percepções do consumidor sobre a categoria e somadas à sua experiência prévia, expectativa de benefícios e condição financeira alterarão a intenção deste se comportar a favor ou contra a contratação do prestador de serviço. Com objetivo de entender tal dinâmica esta dissertação avalia empiricamente duas categorias de serviços pessoais (salão de beleza e assessoria esportiva) evidenciando a importância dos antecedentes à intenção de uso. A adição de variáveis como qualidade prévia percebida e comunicação boca-a-boca como preditoras da intenção foram suportadas, sugerindo mudanças no estado atual da teoria de intenção de uso.

The present research concerns about outdoor s thermal comfort conditions in hot-humid climate cities, understanding that life quality is a result of the urban object s type built for the human being in an environment with specific climate and morphological characteristics. It is presented as object of study the correlation between the neighborhood Renascença II s microclimate in São Luis /MA-Brazil, hot-humid climate city, and its urban morphological changes. As well as the thermal comfort s satisfaction level of its outdoor users. The research has as general goal to diagnosis the way these transformations caused by the urbanization influence the Renascença II s microclimate, identifying critical spots of the studied area, in order to contribute with land use recommendations based on bioclimatic architecture concepts and supply bases to urban design decisions adequate to the São Luis climate. It is presented as theoretical bases the urban climate, its concepts and elements. After that, the thermal comfort conditioners and its prediction models of thermal comfort sensation in outdoor are presented. The predictive models are presented along with bioclimatic assessment methods. Finally the use of bioclimatic assessment as an effective tool to identify places that need changes or preservation in order to seek environment quality. The applied methodology was based on the studies of Katzschner (1997), complemented by Oliveira s (1988) and Bustos Romero s (2001) studies that suggest an analysis and evaluation of maps of topography, buildings floors, land use, green areas and land covering, in order to overlap their characteristics and identify climate variable s measurements points; then a quantitative analysis of the climate variables (air temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction) of the chosen points takes place. It was perceived that Renaissance II has no permanence areas as squares or parks, its outdoor has little vegetation and presets high land impermeability and built density levels. The majority of the people interviewed said that was comfortable in a range of air temperature between 27,28ºC and 30,71ºC. The elaboration of a neighborhood master plan is important, which defines strategies for improvement of the life quality of its inhabitants

Estudiar los medios de comunicación significa estudiar al hombre, la sociedad en la que vive, su evolución y las perspectivas de desarrollo futuro. Después de haber puntualizado brevemente los avances tecnológicos salientes en la historia del hombre y de haber identificado las características más relevantes de las diversas redefiniciones antropológicas que siguieron a la introducción de algunos nuevos medios, nos detendremos principalmente en el estudio de las peculiaridades de los instrumentos de comunicación de masa más modernos, de la fotografía al cine, de la televisión a Internet. El objetivo principal de este aporte, lejos de querer proveer sistemas teóricos definitivos, es trazar un conjunto coherente de temáticas capaces de suscitar nuevas y proficuas cuestiones y de promover un debate abierto a los más diversos aportes, con particular atención a los avances de las comunicaciones telemáticas.

Resumen: Luego de la crisis financiera global de 2008, el blindaje conceptual del paradigma neoclásico, edificado sobre un atractivo formalismo matemático, ha dejado entrever sus falencias. En ese contexto, este artículo plantea la necesidad de revisar sus fundamentos, en especial la concepción antropológica y la metodología que subyace detrás del modelo. El autor analiza al mainstream como un modelo reduccionista de la naturaleza humana, y postula la necesidad de modificar el rumbo de la ciencia económica hacia una dirección personalista, enfocada en el bienestar social de las personas, que considere la importancia de la moral en la toma de decisiones. Asimismo, el economista debería desarrollar su trabajo desde una perspectiva reflexiva y de diálogo con el resto de las ciencias sociales.
