Este artigo apresenta contrastivamente os diferentes tipos de categorização gramatical do item lexical advérbio em uma gramática brasileira e em duas alemãs. O objetivo é apontar a complexidade de descrição do advérbio em uma classe única. A característica heterogeneidade do advérbio é exemplificada por três tipos de advérbio: advérbios modalizadores discursivos (CASTILHO 2010), advérbios de comentário (DUDEN 2006) e palavras modais (HELBIG & BUSCHA 2001).

The problem of modal choice between rail and air arises as public awareness of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by the transportation sector rises. In this paper, we answer this question quantitatively by performing an efficiency benchmarking analysis that takes into account life-cycle CO2 emission due to transport service provision. The paper employs nonparametric efficiency estimation methods, namely a slacks-based inefficiency measure, as well as a more conventional directional distance function approach. We apply them to a panel data set for three major railway companies and the aviation sector in Japan for the period from 1999 to 2007. Results shows that, contrary to the common argument, air transport can still be more socially efficient than rail transport, even when the environmental load due to CO2 emission is incorporated. This is due to the aviation sector's extremely low user cost, measured in terms of in-vehicle time. In other words, aviation is a necessary transportation mode for those with a very high willingness to pay for their time.

El presente trabajo expone la elaboración de un proceso sistemático para la identificación y clasificación de modos de fallo utilizando la metodología ANÁLISIS MODAL DE FALLOS Y EFECTOS (AMFE), como un procedimiento de gran utilidad para mejorar la calidad y seguridad de la prestación de servicios asistenciales. Se analizaron 254 modos de fallo, en el servicio de urgencias de una ESE de II Nivel del Distrito Capital, se utilizó una herramienta de selección de procesos denominada Matriz de Priorización utilizada por el Centro de Gestión Hospitalaria con algunas adaptaciones de acuerdo con las necesidades institucionales. Se calificaron 227 de ellos correspondiendo a un 89,37%. Se entrevistaron 48 médicos, 27 enfermeras, 27 auxiliares de enfermería y 9 camilleros, para un total de 111 colaboradores que corresponden al 30% del total del personal del servicio de urgencias. Se generó una hoja de control de calidad (aceptación) del ejercicio con un porcentaje total del 85%, teniendo como resultado que 102 personas de las 111 encuestadas, diligenciaron correctamente la totalidad de los campos del formato AMFE. Se buscó Implementar el uso de la metodología AMFE como herramienta de gestión y mejora de procesos institucionales, realizando una prueba piloto al proceso seleccionado y evaluando si esta metodología se podía aplicar a otros procesos asistenciales. Se observó que de la totalidad de los modos de fallo el mayor valor de criticidad se encontró en el rango de 45 puntos. Se determinaron 11 modos de fallos en esta categoría, los cuales se encuentran dos asociados dos están asociados con el acceso del paciente a la institución, siete relacionados con el Registro e Ingreso del usuario, uno relacionado con la planeación de la atención y dos relacionados con la ejecución del tratamiento. Background: There is evidence showing that men and women differ with regard to the processing of emotional information. However, the mechanisms behind these differences are not fully understood. Method: The sample comprised of 275 (167 female) right-handed, healthy participants, recruited from the community. We employed a customized affective priming task, which consisted of three subtests, differing in the modality of the prime (face, written word, and sound). The targets were always written words of either positive or negative valence. The priming effect was measured as reaction time facilitation in conditions where both prime and target were emotional (of the same positive or negative valence) compared with conditions where the emotional targets were preceded by neutral primes. Results: The priming effect was observed across all three modalities, with an interaction of gender by valence: the priming effect in the emotionally negative condition in male participants was stronger compared with females. This was accounted for by the differential priming effect within the female group where priming was significantly smaller in the emotionally negative conditions compared with the positive conditions. The male participants revealed a comparable priming effect across both the emotionally negative and positive conditions. Conclusion: Reduced priming in negative conditions in women may reflect interference processes due to greater sensitivity to negative valence of stimuli. This in turn could underlie the gender-related differences in susceptibility to emotional disorders.

Mandatory numeracy tests have become commonplace in many countries, heralding a new era in school assessment. New forms of accountability and an increased emphasis on national and international standards (and benchmarks) have the potential to reshape mathematics curricula. It is noteworthy that the mathematics items used in these tests are rich in graphics. Many of the items, for example, require students to have an understanding of information graphics (e.g., maps, charts and graphs) in order to solve the tasks. This investigation classifies mathematics items in Australia’s inaugural national numeracy tests and considers the effect such standardised testing will have on practice. It is argued that the design of mathematics items are more likely to be a reliable indication of student performance if graphical, linguistic and contextual components are considered both in isolation and in integrated ways as essential elements of task design.
