The purpose of this dissertation is to formulate guidelines for the improvement of maturity models, or the development of new ones, aiming at its application to project departments. The maturity of project management has become critical for organizations that develop projects and want to stand out in the market they serve. For this purpose, maturity models provide paths in order to guarantee that the institutionalization of project management is achieved in the best possible way. Generally, these models assess the organization, define its current situation in managing projects and propose steps to be performed in the search of more advanced levels of maturity. With the objective of contributing to the improvement of maturity models for specific cases, a bibliographical research was conducted for the preparation of a comparative analysis matrix and performed a case study for application of two maturity models (MMGP and PMMM levels 2 and 3), selected based on criteria found in the literature, in an engineering department of an oil company. The case study supported the realization of a comparative analysis of models, from which guidelines were formulated for improvement. The results showed that thedepartment is evaluated in a medium stage of maturity, recording significant progress in some dimensions assessed. They also found that the results of applying the two models are presented as complementary, although the model is highlighted by the greater depth of MMGP diagnostic, considering many variables in their levels of maturity than model PMMM (levels 2 and 3).Finally, directions have been formulated that contribute to the improvement of maturity models, taking in account the organizational environment in which this work was developed

This thesis aims at analyzing the perspective of graduates perceived quality of an undergraduate course in order to contribute to continuous improvement. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, we performed a literature search, seeking together the work surrounding this issue, with the intent to update the concepts discussed today on the subject studied, they are: quality management, quality in higher education institutions and the system national assessment of higher education - Sinaes. The methodology is characterized as a case study, quantitative, and the object of study is composed of students who graduated from Production Engineering, Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, which includes students who graduated from 2002 to 2010; data collection was done through the survey instrument, questionnaire, available online through SurveyMonkey interface, data analysis was done by means of descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis, including factor analysis. The proposed survey instrument consists of questions nineteen and twenty statements that address the central theme of this dissertation. The results show the identification of four latent factors (obtained by exploratory factor analysis), through two perspectives, the analysis of perception and importance, the results were similar in terms of the variable factors. The first factor was related to the support given to students, a factor known to support two extra class, the third factor related aspects of the library, and finalizing the evaluation and approached a factor of 4 facilities. Through research it was concluded that this study presents several points to be improved by the management team, and recommended to continue to evaluate the perceptions of graduates, seeking continuous improvement in service delivery by the university

This Master of Science Thesis deals with applying DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) to the academic performance evaluation of graduate programs in Brazil, exploring it on a Mechanical and Production Engineering Program 2001-2003 data. The data used is that of the national assessment carried by CAPES, the governmental body in charge for graduate program assessment and certification. It is used the CCR output oriented DEA model, the CCR-Output with Assurance Region, and Window Analysis. The main findings are first that the CCR has the concerning problem of zero values of weights of outputs that is not appropriate in a sense that a graduate program has the higher efficiency score zeroing some output (e.g., number of academic papers published). Secondly, the Assurance Region method proved useful. Third, the Window Analysis also gave some light to the consistency of the performance in the time frame analysed. Also, the analysis results in the understanding that the Mechanics and Production Engineering should not be assessed jointly like currently applied by CAPES and rather should be assessed in its own field separately. Finally, the result of the DEA analysis showed some serious inconsistencies with the CAPES method. Graduate programs considered excellent has got low performance score and vice versa. This Thesis provides a strong argument in order to use DEA at least as a complimentary methodology for graduate program performance evaluation in Brazil

This research aims at to contribute to show the consolidation of the area of Information Systems (IS) as area of knowledge in Production Engineering. For this, it according to presents a scenery of the publication in IS in the field of the Production Engineering in Brazil amount of articles, the authorship profile, the methodologies, the citations, the research thematic and the continuity of the research thematic. The base for this study was the works published in the National Meeting of Production Engineering - ENEGEP of years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, inside of the area of Information Systems. Classified as bibliographical research, of applied nature, quantitative boarding, of the point of view of the objectives description-exploration was called and for the collection of data its comment was systematic with bibliographical survey. As field research, the method of collection of data if constituted of the elaboration of an analysis protocol and, to arrive itself at the final diagnosis, it operation the data through the statistical method, with the accomplishment of descriptive analyses. It approached concepts of IS and the seek areas and, it studied research correlate in Production Engineering, in Information Systems, in Information Science and other areas of the knowledge. How much to the results one concluded that the national and international contents are compatible and that the area of IS is in constant evolution. For the continuity of research lines it was observed that the majority of the authors was faithful to the area of Systems of Information. Amongst other found results, some institutions must try to increase its volume of publications and research, while others must look for to keep its reached mark already in the last years

Currently, the decision analysis in production processes involves a level of detail, in which the problem is subdivided to analyze it in terms of different and conflicting points of view. The multi-criteria analysis has been an important tool that helps assertive decisions related to the production process. This process of analysis has been incorporated into various areas of production engineering, by applying multi-criteria methods in solving the problems of the productive sector. This research presents a statistical study on the use of multi-criteria methods in the areas of Production Engineering, where 935 papers were filtered from 20.663 publications in scientific journals, considering a level of the publication quality based on the impact factor published by the JCR between 2010 and 2015. In this work, the descriptive statistics is used to represent some information and statistical analysis on the volume of applications methods. Relevant results were found with respect to the "amount of advanced methods that are being applied and in which areas related to Production Engineering." This information may provide support to researchers when preparing a multi-criteria application, whereupon it will be possible to check in which issues and how often the other authors have used multi-criteria methods.

Entre as diversas formas de organização de sistemas produtivos destacam-se arranjos produtivos, onde empresas de um mesmo setor interagem com atores locais e buscam, através da cooperação, vantagens competitivas inatingíveis de forma isolada. Esta interação é facilitada pela proximidade geográfica e por aspectos culturais. A cooperação e a coordenação de arranjos produtivos (APs) não é sistemática e está associada a conceitos como aprendizado coletivo, confiança, eficiência coletiva, capital social, identidade regional e outros aspectos culturais. É necessário desenvolver uma sistemática para a sua realização e coordenação, ou seja, para a governança de APs. Esta pesquisa propõe um modelo para o desenvolvimento e implementação do processo de governança baseado na abordagem de clusters com ênfase no espaço meso da competitividade sistêmica e nas pequenas e médias empresas (PMEs). Primeiramente, são pesquisados os elementos estruturais e organizacionais da abordagem de clusters, da governança, e do seu processo de desenvolvimento. Estes são sintetizados em forma de construtos. Após, é proposto um modelo para desenvolver e implementar o processo de governança constituído de três fases: mobilização e crescimento, visibilidade e comprometimento, e geração de projetos de maior valor agregado. Estas fases foram desdobradas em etapas de modelagem conceitual, gestão estratégica e gestão operacional e melhoria. O modelo proposto foi implementado para a cadeia automotiva do Rio Grande do Sul através de uma instituição privada e encontra-se em fase final de consolidação.

Com a constante busca por melhoramento e manutenção da vantagem competitiva diante do mercado global, surgem agrupamentos de organizações que visam a maximização dos serviços oferecidos e, conseqüentemente a redução dos custos inseridos nos processos. Como alternativa a esta busca, surgem as Plataformas Logísticas que reúnem em um local, tudo que se refere a eficiência logística, acolhendo empreendimentos para movimentação, transporte, armazenagem, assessoria aduaneira e distribuição de mercadorias. O presente trabalho desenvolveu um mapa estratégico para apoiar a implantação de uma Plataforma Logística, fazendo uma relação entre estratégias pretendidas e custos logísticos inseridos nos processos de movimentação de mercadorias no mercado interno, exportação e importação. Para isso, descreve os processos atuais na movimentação de mercadorias, fazendo um levantamento dos custos logísticos inseridos em cada atividade logística, apontando os elementos mais importantes e que absorvem a maioria dos custos logísticos. Com a observação dos processos atuais foi possível estruturar de forma genérica o mapa estratégico, posteriormente aplicado no setor de produção de conservas, localizado no extremo sul do Estado, visando apontar onde e em quais situações é interessante para as indústrias de conservas utilizarem os serviços propostos por uma Plataforma Logística. Quanto aos resultados obtidos, conclui-se que, dentre as atividades logísticas mais relevantes, o transporte detém a maior problemática e aferem o maior custos (impostos, tributos, pedágios, serviços terceirizados, etc.). É claro que a utilização dos serviços de uma Plataforma viria a interferir na movimentação propriamente dita e não, na questão tributária, mas, de certa forma já influenciaria de maneira positiva na qualidade do serviço prestado.

Este trabalho tem dois objetivos: avaliar a usabilidade de três interfaces de ambientes virtuais de educação à distância através de duas técnicas avaliativas e identificar os fatores influenciadores da percepção de usabilidade dos ambientes avaliados. Os sistemas de educação à distância escolhidos foram o AulaNet, o E-Proinfo e o Teleduc, por serem desenvolvidos no Brasil e terem distribuição gratuita. A avaliação da usabilidade foi realizada através de duas técnicas documentadas na literatura. A primeira técnica de avaliação, do tipo preditiva ou diagnóstica, foi realizada pelo autor e um concluinte do curso de Sistemas de Informação do Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica do estado do Piauí (CEFET-PI), mediante a observação de um checklist denominado Ergolist. A segunda avaliação, do tipo prospectivo, foi efetivada com o usuário sendo o próprio avaliador das interfaces, através de um questionário. A amostra foi composta de 15 professores e 15 alunos do CEFET-PI. Os resultados colhidos foram analisados a partir da estatística descritiva e testes de chi-quadrado. Os resultados mostraram que os ambientes apresentarem problemas de adaptabilidade, pois não possuem flexibilidade e nem levam em consideração a experiência do usuário. Na análise inferencial, foi constatado que o tempo de uso da Internet não afetou significativamente sua avaliação da usabilidade dos três ambientes, assim como na maior parte das variáveis de usabilidade não foram influenciadas pelo tipo de usuário , sexo e escolaridade . Por outro lado, em vários dos critérios ergonômicos avaliados, as variáveis de sistema tipo de ambiente e experiência com computador e a variável demográfica faixa etária afetaram a percepção de usabilidade dos ambientes virtuais de educação à distância

Este trabalho objetiva determinar que características do corpo funcional da DIMEC (Diretoria de Mercado de Capitais do Banco do Brasil) estão associadas aos principais entraves considerados relevantes pelos funcionários da área durante a implementação do Balanced Scorecard (BSC). Pretende-se salientar como entraves tais como a falta de apoio de Tecnologia de Informação e a falta de hábito dos funcionários em lidar com indicadores não financeiros podem se relacionar com as características de interesse do corpo funcional, tais como nível hierárquico , formação acadêmica e nível de conhecimento da ferramenta BSC , de forma a influenciar na implementação do modelo. Para tanto foi realizada revisão de literatura e estudo de caso no qual figuraram, como instrumentos de coleta de dados, a aplicação de questionários e a entrevista não-estruturada através dos quais funcionários da DIMEC demonstraram as relações entre as variáveis descritas de forma a destacar fatores de relevância para o desenrolar do processo de implantação da ferramenta BSC na referida empresa

This thesis deals with the factors affecting customer satisfaction and loyalty in the supermarket sector. It is adapted a model proposed by Johnson et al. (2001) and included the brand construct as a loyalty of construct antecedent. It is conducted a survey with a sample of 290 customers of a supermarket in Natal city, Brazil, and descriptive and multiple regression statistical analysis. The main findings are that the proposed model is confirmed with quality being the main factor affecting satisfaction, but also in this case the place marketing construct playing a key role on satisfaction. The loyalty model is also supported by this research with the brand construct appearing important for a segment of the customers. This study support the conclusion that customer satisfaction is not the sole or main factor to explain loyalty

This work provides a discussion involving the development of practices in Environmental Education (EE) in Natal-RN city, taking as reference the Programa Vamos Cuidar do Brasil com as Escolas (PVCBE). The EE is emphasized by importance it takes within the context of the reforms carried out in Brazil to formal education, especially from the decade of 1980. The investigations focus the effect of PVCBE in promoting the EE. We take as theoretical - methodological base the global/national guidelines on EE, carried out the non-participant observation, document analysis, and application of questionnaires and use of statistical techniques in the data tabulation. The results indicate that there has been reasonable progress to the achieving of an implementation policy of EE clearly qualitative, with a better coordination among municipal policymakers and the schools involved. It has been also noticed that there is a gap between what the law provides for a formal EE and what is carried out in practice. Despite the limitations noted, we must remember that actions have been achieved. Even considering that they are isolated action; they already show that there are possibilities of follow ways to processes based on the criteria of integration, reflexive action, quality and autonomy
