O modelo da base economica como instrumento de planejamento urbano-regional : estudo do caso de Maceio

Dentre as diretrizes das políticas governamentais nos últimos anos, situam-se, com especial destaque, os problemas de descentralização industrial e da qualidade da vida urbana. Estes temas, embora na sua configuração mais técnica sejam mais intimamente ligados ao campo da economia denominado economia regional ou espacial, devem merecer, também, tratamento adequado por parte daqueles ligados à administração pública. Nesse sentido, a presente monografia trata da discussão e da aplicação de _um dos modelos da economia regional, conhecido, como modelo da base economica. Este modelo e empregado, aqui, para a realização de estimativas sobre a criação de empregos numa região em função da implantação de um conjunto de atividades produtivas não existentes anteriormente. A aplicação realizada refere-se à cidade de Maceió, estado de Alagoas, para a qual se preve a implantaçao de um Complexo quimico. O modelo utilizado nestas estimativas sofreu reformulações em relação a sua concepção original, buscando-se, com as modificações introduzidas, melhorar a qualidade das estimativas realizadas. Neste trabalho é realizada, inicialmente, uma revisão conceitual da teoria da base economica, quando se procura identificar suas limitações e as qualificações necessárias à sua aplicação para a realização de previsões sobre o crescimento do nível , geral de empregos de uma comunidade. Este ponto e tratado no capítulo 2, onde é feito, também, um exame de algumas aplicações empíricas do modelo e propõe-se uma metodologia alternativa para o caso em pauta. No capitulo 3, a metodologia proposta é testada empiricamente, sendo, então, derivados os parametros do modelo que serão utilizados nas estimativas. Finalmente, é apresentada, no capitulo 4, uma apreciação crítica dos resultados encontrados.

Medidas de riesgo, características y técnicas de medición: una aplicación del VaR y el ES a la tasa interbancaria de Colombia

Este texto describe en detalle diversas metodologías que permiten calcular dos medidas utilizadas para cuantificar el riesgo de mercado asociado a un activo financiero: el valor en riesgo VAR y el Expected Shortfall (ES). Los métodos analizados se basan en técnicas estadísticas apropiadas para el caso de series financieras, como son los modelos ARIMA, GARCH y modelos basados en la teoría del valor extremo. Estas metodologías se aplican a las variaciones diarias de la tasa interbancaria de Colombia para el período comprendido entre 1995 y 2004. Los conceptos utilizados en este texto suponen que el lector esté familiarizado con algunos elementos básicos de estadística, series de tiempo y finanzas. Se trata, por tanto, de un texto escrito para estudiantes de economía y finanzas de últimos cursos de pregrado, maestría y para profesionales interesados en el tema.

Ensino a distância: um estudo de caso utilizando ferramentas modernas no ensino de técnicas estatísticas

In recent years it was possible to see a considerable growth of distance education, while the classroom teaching had a more modest growth. Thus, maintained this scenario, it will not take long for the quantitative indicators of distance education outweigh the classroom education. The distance education is evolving rapidly and changing traditional methods of acquiring knowledge and reduce inequalities caused by isolation and distance from large urban centers. This work aims to develop a videolesson and analyze its application in the teaching of statistics to a class of students of FEG, using modern techniques of distance education. To that end, was record a videolesson and developed two assessment tools, one practical and the other qualitative. The results showed that students prefer to follow the resolution of examples, with high degree of difficulty, and the audio recording is a key to the proper understanding of the same. In addition, students consider important mainstay of distance education, the fact that you can attend a class several times, whenever you need it, anywhere

Today statistics are one of the most important bases of the engineer formation. Statistics are used indirectly every day for engineers in a large panel of sectors like construction, mechanical engineering, biological engineering, electrical engineering, computer science etc. The main goal of this report is to compare different ways the engineers of tomorrow are formed in order to show which engineering is the best practice. The comparison will be done on different universities in France, Brazil and the US on Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Production branches. We will compare the amount of courses required, the degree of knowledge needed and the mains subjects

Ciclo PDCA e ferramentas da qualidade em operações e serviços de e-commerce

The market has forced companies to maintain high levels of control over their processes , ensuring a product or service quality to its customers . This study comes in the issuance and registration carried out in a company of e-commerce , which is showing problems with the values of weights and dimensions used in the cases cited . The need to eliminate wasteful spending freight caused by shipment of products weighing more than the reality, and to increase the reliability of the information used in the management of processes led to the planning of this project . This work focuses on the development of a PDCA cycle to work in the identification and correction of the causes of the problem , in order to neutralize the current complications and ensure that the problem does not appear again. To aid the mapping of the processes involved , identifying the causes of the problem and implementation of the proposed improvements were used quality tools such as flowcharts , Ishikawa diagrams , Pareto diagrams , and applied statistics

In this era of globalization, with fierce competition in the labor market, using the reduction cost strategy and resources optimization, has become a competitive advantage. In this graduation study, it will be exposed in form of case study the DMAIC project (Define Measure Analyze Improve Control) execution, using of Six Sigma's tools, statistical and quality knowledge, with intent of analyze, improve and control the processes of a selected problem, always demonstrating good practice of methodologies. In an auto parts multinational branch, It was identified a high scrap rate in one of his production lines. This work will study this problem to improve their processes and ensure that these improvements are perpetual. As a result, reached the stipulated goals, increasing Corporation's Intellectual, thereby providing a competitive advantage

Em busca de um padrão de atendimento: O caso da secretaria da escola de pós-graduação em economia (EPGE) da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)

This work has as its objective to create a service¿s pattern to EPGE Secretary, so we can solve the endless stress of the quaternary sector organization, where teachers and secretary professionals just can¿t get along. This systemic model intends to create a definite solution to that problem, allowing teachers to dedicate their time only to research and orientation to students. That way, we can keep the high quality of the secretary¿s service, as we are the symbol of EPGE through the eyes of the public. Having done the theoretical conceptualization of Organizations, Systems and Methods and also Geertz Theory of Ethnography, we build a pattern system, adapted to FGV¿s secretaries cultural situation. A group of 21 professionals from FGV¿s secretaries was selected and through a qualitative research, it was sustained the six years field work of the thesis author. The group¿s contribution to this work was fundamental to build the model and can also create a new way of thinking the work from secretaries of FGV.

Energia, meio ambiente e economia: o Brasil no contexto mundial

The cycle of fossil fuels as an energy source for mankind is approaching its end. Finite resources, coupled with greenhouse gas, have led to an increased effort in the search for alternative renewable energy sources. Brazil has a leading position, due to a 46% participation of renewable sources in its primary energy supply, compared to the global average of 12%. The expansion of the renewable sources in Brazil depends on medium and long term planning, and a large volume of investments. The present financial crisis will have major effects in the energy market. Despite a negative initial impact, it is expected that the rearrangement of the financial system will ultimately lead to an expansion in the use of renewable energy sources. Brazil is a tropical country, with the largest biodiversity in our planet and excellent conditions to expand the use of all forms of renewable sources.
