UM OUTRO OLHAR SOBRE A EFICIÊNCIA DOS MERCADOS: O CASO DAS BOLSAS DE APOSTAS DE TÊNIS

RESUMONeste artigo investiga-se a eficiência do principal mercado de apostas de tênis em nível mundial com recurso a uma base de dados original proveniente da bolsa de apostas Betfair. Em geral, os resultados mostram que os preços constituíram uma boa previsão do resultado final das partidas. Apesar disso, existem evidências de que os apostadores sub-reagem à informação (o que é consistente com os enviesamentos de conservadorismo e de ancoragem) e de que atribuem uma probabilidade demasiada elevada de ganho aos jogadores que estejam dominando a partida (consistente com o enviesamento de representatividade). Foram encontradas várias estratégias de aposta lucrativas, o que coloca em questão a eficiência do mercado de apostas analisado.

As apostas desportivas online associadas à combinação de resultados

The present dissertation is aimed at finding out whether the existing criminal protection of the sports ethics value is sufficient, regarding the dangers arising from the global online sports betting market and its characteristics. In the first chapter, the main issue will be introduced: the association between online sports bets and competition manipulations from a criminal point of view. In the second chapter, online sports bets will be defined, the characteristics of the referred global market explained and the danger said features bear to the manipulation of sports competitions exposed – also analysing the participants in this phenomenon. In chapter 3, it will be shown that the protection of sports ethics is a matter of public interest and that this interest is carried out by the sports federations as well. In the fourth chapter, the focus will be the criminal protection of sports ethics: its necessity based on the penal dignity of this system of sport associated values; the need to re-evaluate the existing protection due to the recognition of the existence of the online sports betting market; the existing criminal norms regarding the manipulation of sports competitions. Finally, in chapter 5, the intent will be to propose solutions to the identified problems concerning the sufficiency of the existing criminal legislation.

Entre o cárcere e a liberdade: apostas na produção cotidiana de modos diferentes de cuidar

This paper presents some reflections about the challenge of the Psychiatric Reform (RP) and the National Policy of Humanization (NHP) to change modes of production and health care. Starting at observations about the current scenario , marked by a conservative tendency, the author seeks to explain the care that has freedom as a principle and ethical requirement and that compulsory admissions represents a worrying setback in the public mental health policy. At the end the author points out that both policies (PNH and Mental Health) are bets which are produced in nooks and crevices of the conservative model, which represents an immense challenge.
