El present treball és un primer escrit sobre la cartografia corològica de les plantes vasculars en el massis del Montseny (Serralada Pre-litoral), en el qual exposem el plantejament del projecte i oferim uns primers résultats. Hi incloem també un mapa per espècie prenent com a unitat espacial el quadrat d'1 km de costat del reticle UTM. La presència de 1'espècie a cada quadrat és indicada en très graus d'abundància: espècie présent o rara, espècie fréquent i espècie abundant. L'àrea estudiada comprèn 513 quadrats d'1 km de costat, que pertanyen a 12 quadrats de 10 km de costat de la zona 31T del reticle UTM: DG 33, DG 43, DG 53, DG 63, DG 32, DG k2, DG 52, DG 62, DG 3 1 , DG kl, DG 51 i DG 6 l . Com a primera aportaciô presentem 10 mapes amb la distribució de Quercus ilex, Fagus sylvatica, Abies alba, Taxus baccata, Betula pendula, Cistus laurifolius, Cardamine heptaphylla, Ramonda myconii i Equisetum hyemale.

Työn tavoitteena oli selvittää SBU:n varastovaraosien logistinen prosessin tämänhetkinen tilanne verrattuna muihin ja sitä kautta oppia uusia tehokkaita tapoja hallita sitä sekä parantaa sen kilpailukykyä. Selvittäminen tapahtui benchmarkkaamalla SBU:n varastovaraosien logistinen prosessi kahteen sen kilpailijaan ja viiteen muuhun ei kilpailija yritykseen. Bechmarking -aineiston kerääminen tapahtui pääasiassa Inter netin, haastattelujen, bechmarking -kyselyn ja yritysvierailujen avulla. Tulosten vertailu ja analysointi perustui kerättyyn aineistoon. Kriteereiksi lopullista vertailua varten valittiin seikat, joihin liittyvä tieto oli saatavilta suurimmalta osalta bechmarking -yrityksistä. Tuloksena lopullisesta vertailusta muodostettiin "ranking" lista, jossa yritykset on laitettu paremmuus-järjestykseen. Tässä vertailussa SBU sijoittui viimeiseksi ja SBU varastovaraosien logistisessa prosessissa havaittiin olevan useita parannuskohteita. Joka tapauksessa SBU sai paljon tietoa siitä, kuinka muut yritykset hallitsevat prosessinsa ja kuinka SBU:n tulisi tulevaisuudessa hallita oma logistinen prosessinsa ja kuinka se voisi sitä kautta lisätä kilpailukykyään.

Objectives: To determine if one passage of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium in the presence of farm disinfectants selected for mutants with decreased susceptibility to disinfectants and/or antibiotics. Methods: Eight Salmonella Typhimurium strains including field isolates and laboratory mutants were exposed to either a tar oil phenol (PFD) disinfectant, an oxidizing compound disinfectant (OXC), an aldehyde based disinfectant (ABD) or a dairy sterilizer disinfectant (based on quaternary ammonium biocide) in agar. The susceptibility of mutants obtained after disinfectant exposure to antibiotics and disinfectants was determined as was the accumulation of norfloxacin. The proteome of SL1344 after exposure to PFD and OXC was analysed using two-dimensional liquid chromatography mass spectrometry. Results: Strains with either acrB or tolC inactivated were more susceptible to most disinfectants than other strains. The majority (3/5) of mutants recovered after disinfectant exposure required statistically significantly longer exposure times to disinfectants than their parent strains to generate a 5 log kill. Small decreases in antibiotic susceptibility were observed but no mutants were multiply antibiotic-resistant (MAR). Notably exposure to ABD decreased susceptibility to ciprofloxacin in some strains. Mutants with increased disinfectant tolerance were able to survive and persist in chicks as well as in parent strains. Analysis of proteomes revealed significantly increased expression of the AcrAB-TolC efflux system after PFD exposure. Conclusions: Data presented demonstrate that efflux pumps are required for intrinsic resistance to some disinfectants and that exposure to disinfectants can induce expression of the AcrAB-TolC efflux system, but that single exposure was insufficient to select for MAR strains.

Spin polarization is a key characteristic in developing spintronic devices. Diluted magnetic heterostructures (DMH), where subsequent layers of conventional and diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) are alternate, are one of the possible ways to obtain it. Si being the basis of modern electronics, Si or other group-IV DMH can be used to build spintronic devices directly integrated with conventional ones. In this work we study the physical properties and the spin-polarization effects of p-type DMH based in group-IV semiconductors (Si, Ge, SiGe, and SiC), by performing self-consistent (k) over right arrow . (p) over right arrow calculations in the local spin density approximation. We show that high spin polarization can be maintained in these structures below certain values of the carrier concentrations. Full spin polarization is attained in the low carrier concentration regime for carrier concentrations in the DMS layer up to similar to 2.0 x 10(19) cm(-3) for Si and up to similar to 6.0 x 10(19) cm(-3) for SiC. Partial, but still important spin polarization can be achieved for all studied group-IV DMH, with the exception of Ge for carrier concentrations up to 6.0 x 10(19) cm(-3). The role played by the effective masses and the energy splitting of the spin-orbit split-off hole bands is also discussed throughout the paper.

Para avaliar a possibilidade de biorremediação em áreas contaminadas, é necessário determinar a biodegradação dos poluentes no solo. Para esta determinação, emprega-se comumente no Brasil, o método respirométrico de Bartha, adaptado de uma norma holandesa. Porém, os solos tropicais possuem características bem diferentes dos solos de regiões de clima temperado. Neste trabalho, foi estudada a aplicabilidade de tal método para um latossolo, tipo de solo predominante no Estado de São Paulo. A partir dos resultados obtidos, foi possível verificar que reações abióticas geram gás carbônico em quantidades significativas. Constatou-se, também, a dificuldade de esterilização do solo em autoclave, o que impossibilita a avaliação da remoção dos poluentes por outros mecanismos ou a biodegradação dos mesmos por microrganismos exógenos somente. Portanto, não se recomenda a aplicação do teste respirométrico de Bartha para a determinação da biodegradabilidade de poluentes em latossolos.

This study aimed to characterize the nociceptive withdrawal reflex (NWR) and to define the nociceptive threshold in 25 healthy, non-medicated experimental sheep in standing posture. Electrical stimulation of the dorsal lateral digital nerves of the right thoracic and the pelvic limb was performed and surface-electromyography (EMG) from the deltoid (all animals) and the femoral biceps (18 animals) or the peroneus tertius muscles (7 animals) was recorded. The behavioural reaction following each stimulation was scored on a scale from 0 (no reaction) to 5 (strong whole body reaction). A train-of-five 1 ms constant-current pulse was used and current intensity was stepwise increased until NWR threshold intensity was reached. The NWR threshold intensity (It) was defined as the minimal stimulus intensity able to evoke a reflex with a minimal Root-Mean-Square amplitude (RMSA) of 20 μV, a minimal duration of 10 ms and a minimal reaction score of 1 (slight muscle contraction of the stimulated limb) within the time window of 20 to 130 ms post-stimulation. Based on this value, further stimulations were performed below (0.9It) and above threshold (1.5It and 2It). The stimulus-response curve was described. Data are reported as medians and interquartile ranges. At the deltoid muscle It was 4.4 mA (2.9–5.7) with an RMSA of 62 μV (30–102). At the biceps femoris muscle It was 7.0 mA (4.0–10.0) with an RMSA of 43 μV (34–50) and at the peroneus tertius muscle It was 3.4 mA (3.1–4.4) with an RMSA of 38 μV (32–46). Above threshold, RMSA was significantly increased at all muscles. Below threshold, RMSA was only significantly smaller than at It for the peroneus tertius muscle but not for the other muscles.
