After stroke, white matter integrity can be affected both locally and distally to the primary lesion location. It has been shown that tract disruption in mirror's regions of the contralateral hemisphere is associated with degree of functional impairment. Fourteen patients suffering right hemispheric focal stroke (S) and eighteen healthy controls (HC) underwent Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) and neuropsychological assessment. The stroke patient group was divided into poor (SP; n = 8) and good (SG; n = 6) cognitive recovery groups according to their cognitive improvement from the acute phase (72 hours after stroke) to the subacute phase (3 months post-stroke). Whole-brain DWI data analysis was performed by computing Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) followed by Tract Based Spatial Statistics (TBSS). Assessment of effects was obtained computing the correlation of the projections on TBSS skeleton of Fractional Anisotropy (FA) and Radial Diffusivity (RD) with cognitive test results. Significant decrease of FA was found only in right brain anatomical areas for the S group when compared to the HC group. Analyzed separately, stroke patients with poor cognitive recovery showed additional significant FA decrease in several left hemisphere regions; whereas SG patients showed significant decrease only in the left genu of corpus callosum when compared to the HC. For the SG group, whole brain analysis revealed significant correlation between the performance in the Semantic Fluency test and the FA in the right hemisphere as well as between the performance in the Grooved Pegboard Test (GPT) and theTrail Making Test-part A and the FA in the left hemisphere. Series of tellurite glasses were prepared by traditional melting method, the glass composition were changed and the different effects of glass modifier oxides(alkali metals and alkaline earth metal oxides) and glass intermediate (Y2O3, GeO2, Nb2O5, WO3) on the optical and spectroscopic properties of Er3+ doped tellurite glass were researched and compared. The infrared transmitting spectra, absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra were tested, the results showed that Nb2O5 and WO3 in the glass act as part of the body's role in the formation of the network, caused the reduction of transmitting range in infrared wavelength, which decrease the transmitting properties of tellurite glass. The introduction of high valence cationic ions, WO3 especially, can increase the FWHM of Er3+ for the increased polarization effect. With the decreasing of cationic field of glass modifier ions, the ion filed of the environment around Er3+ increased, subsequently, the role of ligand field polarization effect reduced, which makes the luminescence lifetime increase, and on the contrary the FWHM decrease monotonously.

Nanocomposite films consisting of nanosized Ag particles embedded in partially oxidized amorphous Si-containing matrices were prepared by radio frequency magnetron co-sputtering deposition. We studied the influence of ambient atmosphere during the preparation and heat-treatment of Ag/SiOx (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 2) nanocompositefilm on its optical absorption properties. We found that the plasmon resonance absorption peak shifts to shorter wavelengths with the increasing oxygen content in the SiOx matrix. The analysis indicates that the potential barrier between Ag nanoparticles and SiOx matrix increases with the increasing x value, which will induce the surface resonance state to shift to higher energy. The electrons in the vicinity of the Fermi level of Ag nanoparticles must absorb more energy to be transferred to the surface resonance state with the increasing x value. It was also found that the plasmon resonance absorption peaks of the samples annealed in different ambient atmospheres are located at about the same position. This is because the oxidation surface layer is dense enough to prevent the oxygen from penetrating into the sample to oxidize the silicon in the inner layer.

O presente trabalho visa conhecer e caracterizar as aprendizagens promovidas pelas principais instituições da freguesia de Vila Nova de S. Bento (concelho de Serpa), avaliando a presença relativa dos contextos formais, não – formais e informais. Realizámos uma abordagem teórica, com o intuito de precisar alguns conceitos chave como aprendizagem, ambientes de aprendizagem e território. Para concretizar o trabalho empírico, e tendo como base as questões subjacentes à investigação, utilizámos uma metodologia mista (quantitativa/qualitativa) com uma aproximação conceptual ao estudo de caso. O instrumento utilizado na recolha de dados foi o inquérito por questionário aplicado. Fizemos uma recolha, análise e interpretação de dados que nos permitiram inferir:  As instituições objecto do nosso estudo constituem um potencial educativo no território analisado;  Estas instituições desenvolvem um conjunto de actividades de aprendizagem que poderão ser um recurso para o território;  Estabelecida uma relação de diálogo com a escola e outros parceiros locais, será possível potenciar novas ofertas educativas neste território. Terminámos este trabalho, com a apresentação de algumas recomendações e sugestões, que poderão vir a integrar novas investigações; ### Abstract: The present study aims to now and characterizes the learning’s promoted by the main institutions in the town of Vila Nova de S. Bento (Serpa), evaluating the relative presence of formal, non-formal and informal contexts. We made a theoretical approach, aiming to precise some key concepts, like learning ambient and territories. To realise the empiric work, and having as base subjacent questions to the investigation, we used a mixed methodology (quantitative/qualitative) as a conceptual approach to the case study. The instrument used in the recollection of data was an inquiry by applied questioner. We made a recollection, analysis and interpretation of data witch permitted as to infer:  The institutions which we observed in our study have an educative potential,  These institutions developed a series of learning activities that might be a good source for the territory,  Establishing a relationship between the school and the other local partners, it will be possible to potentiate the learning offers. We end this study by presetting some recommendations and suggestions that might be integrated in new investigations.
