Este trabalho tem por tema a Histria da Educao e apresenta como objeto de pesquisa a concepo poltico-educacional que orientou as reformas educacionais do primeiro governo de Lauro Sodr (1891-1897). O seu objetivo analisar os sentidos que essa concepo poltico-educacional assumiu na orientao daquelas reformas educacionais tendo em vista que essa concepo formulada originalmente no Governo Provisrio (1889-1891), presidido por Justo Chermont, anterior ao de Lauro Sodr. Problematizam-se os objetivos e as finalidades que a concepo poltico-educac cional construda no Governo Provisrio (1889-1891) assume nas reformas citadas, ou seja, quais os sentidos, polticos e educacionais, que essa concepo ter na direo dessas reformas educacionais do primeiro governo de Lauro Sodr (1891-1897). Como metodologia, a pesquisa documental, com utilizao de fontes primrias (documentos) e secundrias (historiografia), e a sua articulao com aporte terico. Assim, apontemos o corpus documental utilizado. Ele foi divido em trs categorias: documentos impressos oficiais, jornal e obras impressas. Entre os documentos impressos oficiais: os Relatrios e Mensagens de Presidente de Provncia de 1886 a 1889 e do Governador do Estado (Lauro Sodr) ao Congresso do Estado do Par, no perodo de 1891-1897. O jornal: A Repblica entre 1886-1897. E por fim, as obras impressas: obras de Lauro Sodr, como Crenas e opinies (1997) e Palavras e actos (1896). Para tal esforo, utilizamos como aporte terico para a leitura do objeto aqui proposto: o conceito de intelectual orgnico de Antonio Gramsci (1989; 2001); discurso de acordo com Mikhail Bakhtin (1979); campo educacional nas formulaes de Pierre Bourdieu (1982; 2003; 2008) e representao segundo Roger Chartier (1990; 1991). Constatou-se que a concepo poltico-educacional investigada tem suas origens nas proposies e crticas dos republicanos poltica e educao no Imprio. Essas proposies so efetivadas na reforma do ensino primrio do Governo Provisrio, como finalidade educacional, e a formao de cidados regenerados e comprometidos com o regime republicano recm proclamado, a partir da infncia, como objetivo poltico. Nas reformas operadas no primeiro governo de Lauro Sodr, a preocupao com a educao secundria e profissional, alm da formao de cidados junto aos trabalhadores paraenses. Dessa forma, conclumos que essa concepo poltico-educacional procura legitimar o regime republicano nos seus primeiros momentos e no tempo de sua consolidao, buscando, por meio da educao, objetivar os seus intentos polticos.

Despite emphasis on preparing teachers as leaders, teacher educators realize that the transition of classroom practitioners into school leaders is fraught with many obstacles. This session addresses some of these obstacles, describes strategies and opportunities that we have used in our graduate masters degree programs for teachers that support professionals as they make this change. The session will present evidence on the results of our efforts in terms of teachers performances within their programs and in the field after they graduate.

The multimedia development that has taken place within the university classrooms in recent years has caused a revolution at psychological level within the collectivity of students and teachers inside and outside the classrooms. The slide show applications have become a key supporting element for university professors, who, in many cases, rely blindly in the use of them for teaching. Additionally, ill-conceived slides, poorly structured and with a vast amount of multimedia content, can be the basis of a faulty communication between teacher and student, which is overwhelmed by the appearance and presentation, neglecting their content. The same applies to web pages. This paper focuses on the study and analysis of the impact caused in the process of teaching and learning by the slide show presentations and web pages, and its positive and negative influence on the students learning process, paying particular attention to the consequences on the level of attention within the classroom, and on the study outside the classroom. The study is performed by means of a qualitative analysis of student surveys conducted during the last 8 school Civil Engineering School at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. It presents some of the weaknesses of multimedia material, including the difficulties for students to study them, because of the many distractions they face and the need for incentives web pages offer, or the insignificant content and shallowness of the studies due to wrongly formulated presentations.
