L'économie criminelle de la Camorra et la pratique discursive des différents points de vue dans Gomorra de Roberto Saviano

This thesis will study the Italian literary phenomenon Gomorra, viaggi nell'impero economico e nel sogno di dominio della Camorra. First, the focus will be on the text's hybrid nature and implications and also on its literary and intellectual inspirations (such as Truman Capote, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Leonardo Sciascia). Secondly, we will take a closer look at the structure of the novel's narrative and its literary details, in order to reveal the different processes used by Roberto Saviano to convince the reader. Interwoven in this book's central plot, we will find a main obsession: the need to understand. Lastly, we will discuss the question of the great power treated in this novel, the one of a criminal organisation transformed by the revelations made throughout the story. These revelations will allow us to draw interesting comparisons between organized crime and merchant capitalism. For this part, we will refer to Guy Debord's La société du spectacle, and to Hannah Arendt's work on the question of totalitarianism. All of these elements will allow us to discuss the different perspectives within the narrative's framework, and more precisely, the figure of the narrator/author/character that gives Saviano's novel anthropological qualities, in the form of an ethnofiction (Augé).

What is reflection? A conceptual analysis of major definitions and a proposal of a five-component definition and model

La réflexion est considérée comme un élément significatif de la pédagogie et de la pratique médicales sans qu’il n’existe de consensus sur sa définition ou sur sa modélisation. Comme la réflexion prend concurremment plusieurs sens, elle est difficile à opérationnaliser. Une définition et un modèle standard sont requis afin d’améliorer le développement d’applications pratiques de la réflexion. Dans ce mémoire, nous identifions, explorons et analysons thématiquement les conceptualisations les plus influentes de la réflexion, et développons de nouveaux modèle et définition. La réflexion est définie comme le processus de s’engager (le « soi » (S)) dans des interactions attentives, critiques, exploratoires et itératives (ACEI) avec ses pensées et ses actions (PA), leurs cadres conceptuels sous-jacents (CC), en visant à les changer et en examinant le changement lui-même (VC). Notre modèle conceptuel comprend les cinq composantes internes de la réflexion et les éléments extrinsèques qui l’influencent.

La mémoire discursive dans Allah n’est pas obligé ou la poétique de l’explication du “blablabla” de Birahima

Cette étude vise à dégager certaines des traces des discours antérieurs (cotextuels) qui sont la matière même du roman « Allah n’est pas obligé », à la fois sur le plan de l’écriture et sur celui d’une mémoire douloureuse. Il s’agit de montrer que la « poétique de l’explication » qui caractérise le roman constitue une stratégie de dévoilement des rhétoriques fallacieuses destinées à occulter l’inadmissible. En effet, le recours constant aux dictionnaires n’est que l’effet le plus visible d’une poétique englobante qui consiste à confronter les uns aux autres les discours sur le monde, discours en deçà des mots inscrits dans le texte comme une mémoire en palimpseste, afin de faire ressortir leur incapacité à expliquer des réalités aussi inhumaines que le sort que subissent les enfants-soldats. Le roman de Kourouma met ainsi en évidence deux attitudes possibles face aux atrocités indicibles des guerres oubliées des temps présents : soit on en nie le caractère insensé en multipliant les discours d’explication, soit l’on dénonce toute tentative de manipulation des discours visant à rendre sensé l’insensé. La première posture est illustrée par le « blablabla » du narrateur Birahima ; la deuxième est celle du roman lui-même.

Influence of the interaction potential on simulated sputtering and reflection data

The TRIM.SP program which is based on the binary collision approximation was changed to handle not only repulsive interaction potentials, but also potentials with an attractive part. Sputtering yields, average depth and reflection coefficients calculated with four different potentials are compared. Three purely repulsive potentials (Meliere, Kr-C and ZBL) are used and an ab initio pair potential, which is especially calculated for silicon bombardment by silicon. The general trends in the calculated results are similar for all potentials applied, but differences between the repulsive potentials and the ab initio potential occur for the reflection coefficients and the sputtering yield at large angles of incidence.

La emocionalidad en lo público: los dilemas de la indignación como origen de una nueva ética-política

Esta disertación constituye una reflexión acerca de la experiencia contemporánea de la indignación y su potencialidad de convertirse en alternativa para la comprensión y vivencia de lo político. En este sentido, se exploran aquí, las intersecciones de la manifestación social de la indignación con la irrupción de su novedosa realidad discursiva. Para ello, se reflexiona a través de la articulación conceptual de dos corrientes teóricas (las Teorías de la Emancipación y el Liberalismo Crítico) con la reflexión interpretativa de la indignación como experiencia que impacta los esquemas de sentido del hombre en el mundo contemporáneo. Esta perspectiva conduce a comprender que la experiencia de la indignación plantea en el escenario contemporáneo una nueva manera de concebir la condición humana y la acción en el mundo que formula una nueva visión ético-política.

Self-medication and related terms: a conceptual reflection

Introduction: self-medication has become a growing practice in the world population. This phenomenon has been promoted as a form of self-care, with a positive impact on reducing spending in health systems, however there is concern about the potential negative effects related to inadequate diagnosis and treatment, which can affect health of individuals. This dual perception of the phenomenon is partly related to a variety of terms and concepts used, that make difficult its theoretical and empirical approach. Harmonization of the definitions involved is required in order to make adequate epidemiological comparisons. Objectives: analyze the concept of self medication and related terms from the definitions in the literature of the subject. Conclusions: in the last four decades it has been an evolution of both the wording and the definitions related to self-medication, from a very simple concept that implies the absence of prescription, to more complex ones that encompass very diverse behaviors, even those mediated by an act of prescription but not followed or not completed by the patient. Additionally the conceptual proliferation seen, justify the ordering of the terms related to self-medication. This paper presents a proposal for classification in four groups: a. self-medication, b. self care, c. pharmaceutical preparations and medicines, and d. prescription. This proposal should facilitate the exploration and analysis of the phenomenon and allow future theoretical approaches.

Al – Qaeda and the international politics: a teorical Reflection

Through the study of the relationship between non-state actors and states, is pretended to analyze the role of Al-Qaeda in international politics. It is argued that Al-Qaeda tries or has the ability to promote or accelerate changes in the power  structure, where stands the American hegemony and the pursuit of balance by  various actors, implementing asymmetric strategies as counter-hegemonic responses.

Mitificación y oralidad en el otoño del patriarca de Gabriel García Márquez

El actual documento presenta los resultados de una investigación que vengo desarrollando hace algunos años sobre El Otoño del Patriarca. Esta investigación sufrió una importante variación en torno a la reflexión sobre los propósitos de la lectura filosófica de un texto literario, y ha sido consecuencia de, por un lado, un desplazamiento en la determinación de las relaciones entre las dimensiones del lenguaje, el poder, el tiempo y el espacio abiertos por la narración, y por otro, de una diferencia de concepción sobre la formación discursiva de estas relaciones en El Otoño del Patriarca como obra narrativa, oral y poética.
