The John Jones Letter was written by Mr. Jones in 1841, a farmer, from Montevallo, Alabama, to Jesse Trusdel of Santon in Kershaw District, South Carolina, in which Jones discusses economic and health conditions in Shelby County, Alabama, his family affairs, and future plans. The collection includes the envelope (in pieces) and a handwritten transcription.

A comparison of face and facial feature detectors based on the viola-jones general object detection framework

<p>[EN]The human face provides useful information during interaction; therefore, any system integrating Vision- BasedHuman Computer Interaction requires fast and reliable face and facial feature detection. Different approaches have focused on this ability but only open source implementations have been extensively used by researchers. A good example is the Viola&ndash;Jones object detection framework that particularly in the context of facial processing has been frequently used.</p>

Viola-Jones based detectors: How much affects the training set?

<p>[EN]This paper presents a study on the facial feature detection performance achieved using the Viola-Jones framework. A set of classi- ers using two di erent focuses to gather the training samples is created and tested on four di erent datasets covering a wide range of possibili- ties. The results achieved should serve researchers to choose the classi er that better ts their demands.</p>

Robin Huws Jones (United Kingdom), President 1976- 1980

Robin Huws Jones, President of the International Association of Schools of Social Work from 1976 to 1980, lived a life of challenge and change. Born in Wales in 1909, he often remarked that learning to speak Welsh at age two was such a challenge that he didn’t bother to learn English until he was six. The death of his mother when he was three led to the first of many changes in a life that was not easy in the formative years. Robin remained in the care of his father while his sister became the ward of two aunts. With his father, a draper’sassistant, he left Wales to live in a crowded boarding house in Liverpool.
