Cuatro hechos estilizados de las series de rendimientos: Una ilustración para Colombia

En este documento empleamos las series de la Tasa de Cambio Representativa de Mercado y el Índice General de la Bolsa Colombia para ilustrar cuatro hechos estilizados muy conocidos en la literatura financiera: i) las series de precios siguen un camino aleatorio, ii) la distribución de los rendimientos es leptocúrtica y exhibe colas pesadas, iii) a medida que se calculan los rendimientos para períodos más amplios su distribución se acerca más a la distribución normal, y iv) los rendimientos presentan volatilidad agrupada (volatility clustering).

PLANEJAMENTO TERRITORIAL E SUBDESENVOLVIMENTO: FATOS E MITOS

As experiências de planejamento territorial no Brasil expressam um ideário permeado por teorias desenvolvimentistas e integracionistas, ao mesmo tempo em que se inserem num projeto geopolítico de construção de uma “grande nação”. Como características gerais apresentam, no aspecto ideológico, um viés capitalístico por excelência, dado o caráter do Estado brasileiro; no aspecto temporal, possuem, majoritariamente, perspectivas de curto e médio prazos; no aspecto espacial, priorizaram a escala regional; no aspecto econômico, são, oficialmente, instrumentos propulsores do crescimento e desenvolvimento econômico; no aspecto político, por sua vez, balizam o discurso institucional segundo o qual somente o planejamento promoveria o progresso e a modernização da nação. Após meio século de políticas territoriais, praticadas via planejamento, entretanto, percebemos o aprofundamento das desigualdades regionais, a criação de “ilhas de prosperidade”, convivendo com um mar de pobrezas e atrasos das mais diferentes naturezas. Este trabalho, portanto, tem como tema central, a problemática do planejamento territorial em escala regional no Brasil, particularmente na Amazônia brasileira, e objetiva analisar a relação entre o planejamento, enquanto instrumento político de progresso e modernização, e o subdesenvolvimento presente na região amazônica.

As diferenças rítmicas entre o português europeu e o português brasileiro: uma abordagem otimalista e minimalista

The aim of this paper is to discuss some rhythmic differences between European and Brazilian Portuguese and their relationship to pretonic vowel reduction phenomena. After the basic facts of PE and PB are presented, we show that the issue cannot be discussed without taking into account secondary stress placement, and we proceed to present the algorithm-based approach to secondary stress in Portuguese, representative of Metrical Phonology analyses. After showing that this deterministic approach cannot adequately explain the variable position of secondary stress in both languages regarding words with an even number of pretonic syllables, we argue for the interpretation of secondary stress and therefore for the construction of rhythmic units at the PF interface, as suggested in Chomsky s Minimalist Program. We also propose, inspired by the constrain hierarchies as proposed in Optimality Theory, that such interpretation must take into account two different constraint rankings, in EP and BP. These different rankings would ultimately explain the rhythmic differences between both languages, as well as the different behavior of pretonic vowels with respect to reduction processes.

Fibrose congênita de reto inferior atípica com hipotonia muscular generalizada: relato de um caso

A case report of an atipical inferior rectus congenital fibrosis associated with a generalized muscular hypotonia is presented. It shows mild hipotropia with a normal visual acuity and binocularity in infraversion position contrasting with the severe hipotropia and ambliopy found. The surgical procedure took these facts into consideration, so we performed a small retrocess of the muscle with the objective to correct the head position without changes in the reading position. The postoperative results were satisfactory.
