Is it possible to encapsulate in a pill the benefits of an analytical treatment? Quickly suspending the symptoms? Since the nineteenth century psychiatry has offered to the so called mentally ill "medieval forms" of treatment, as is the case of institutional admissions, the straightjacket, lobotomies, shock treatments, etc. What has changed since the mid-twentieth century advent of chlorpromazine, the first psychoactive drug, and the "psychopharmacological revolution"? Today with the Psychiatric Reform mental institutions admissions are being gradually abandoned, yet we see the rise of psychoactive drugs as protagonists in mental health treatment. This theoretical essay is an extension of a master's thesis in progress on the long-term use of psychotropic drugs. It falls within the field of mental health, specifically in the debate on the medicalization of society in contemporary processes of subjectivation of the psychiatric clinics and the treatment modalities currently offered to individuals in their suffering-existence. Thus, we seek to problematize this degrading psychiatric clinics, which produces what we call the pill-subject.

Genealogia: da emergência às potencialidades contemporâneas

The article intends to articulate how the methodological proposal of Foucault, denominated genealogy, is applied to the field in which it emerged, considering that the proposal of this method appeared with the author’s study about the subject of the prisons. To apprehend the execution of the feathers in the contemporary epoch, we searched in Foucault’s theories the concepts of subjectivation processes, power relationships, discursive formations and dispositive. Starting from these concepts, we focused some practices and/or discursive formations of punishment and surveillance that happen at the present time to exemplify the form as the genealogical process raise an interlacement of subjects, information, appearances and disappearances that always obey to a normative logic. To unmask and to understand this logic can favor the liberation of manners of subjectivations crystallized in the punished people and in those ones that execute the punishment. Stiller, we question ourselves on which is the real function of the confinement, of the controls and, why not, if the paradigm of the modernity, the prison, had fail.

Cartografias do Armário: estratégias do desejo em uma cidade do interior paulista

This article aims to present the results of a research about the links among homophobia, subjectivation processes and constructions of gender and sexual identities in a small city in the interior of São Paulo State. The main research question that guided us was: how homophobia regulates the desire and the “transit between the closets” among the so called gay people in a small city? To answer that question we made interviews that were analyzed and transformed into narratives of four cisgender men of different ages who call themselves homosexual or who have had homoerotic practices with other men. All participants live in the same city, do not know one another and have lived most of their lives city. We have problematized how these participants gave meaning to the experiences of regulation of their sexuality that have been aroused by homophobia and by the device of closet. Analyses indicated that the 'closet' can both regulate and oversee their lives, limiting their possibilities of desiring, but also may raise resistance, from which it is possible to establish a relationship with another ethical life, that is, producing other ways of life in the small city.

Desamparo psíquico na contemporaneidade

This article has as a purpose to make a theoretical reflection on the experience of helplessness in the recent days. It starts from the Freud’s concept of helplessness, and compares it with analyses and reflections from contemporary authors on models of subjectivation which have risen at the present time. In the first experiences of life helplessness comes out as a result of an incompleteness of the organism, its need to perform exchanges with the world, and the extreme dependency on help from others. On the one hand, the contemporary culture highlights the individualism, which indicates good possibilities for granting desires. On the other hand, it makes bonds and relationships ephemeral and fragile. At the absence of a solid, safe and stable continent for affective and emotional experiences a feeling of helplessness appears. It activates primary defense mechanisms, contributing to the intensification of regressive forms of subjectivation and the decline of the symbolic sphere.

Os efeitos da matriz bioparental nos processos de adoção de crianças e adolescentes

This paper is the result of a homonymous scientific research, funded by CNPq-PIBIC where we understand the adoption process as a process of dissidence in relation to the bio-parental matrix. Founded on a heteronormative naturalization of human sexuality - which presupposes a continuum and naturalized organization among sex / gender / desire – this bioparental matrix sets the binary relation of distinction between the legitimate/illegitimate child as their origin or not arising from “blood ties”. Considering our experience in the Project developed at the Department of Clinical Psychology at UNESP, Assis, SP called “Ties of love: Adoption, Gender, Citizenship and Rights”, we prepared a content analysis - as proposed by Bardin (1977) -, of transcripts of psychological sessions that were made from 2005 to 2012 in the "Center for Research and Applied Psychology “Dra. Betti Katzenstein. Our general objective was to analyze the effects of the bioparental matrix and its impact on children/adolescents and their families as well as estimate the possibilities of escape to the subjection to this bioparental matrix. The results showed us several aspects that may be significant for understanding the discursive crossings related to the practice of adoption. It was observed that there is still a great ambivalence pervading this theme, revealing that there is a discrepancy between what we say and what we do in relation to practices of caring among the adopted children. On the one hand, it was noticed that relatives rationally seek to enhance the bonding of the “emotional ties”, but their practices and beliefs, are still supported in modes of subjectivation that prioritize the biological discourse. This fact reveals a strained and conflictive field that probably weaknesses those families seeking to prioritize the ties of affection. However, as can be seen in this study, it is comforting and motivating to realize the power of resistance of individuals to absolute truths that govern their ways of feeling, affiliating and/ or exert their parenting.

This study is a theoretical investigation which intends to discuss possible relationships between work and boredom based on notable authors and theories. Unlike modern industrial societies centered mainly in production, new societies are characterized by increased consumption. The meaningless work and non-productive and prospective consumption leads the subject to be only a digestive organ providing favorable conditions for the presence of boredom, a mode of subjectivation characterized by a status of unconcern for the world, i.e. a low-intensity lifestyle.

In line with a psychology more attached to the becoming [devenir] rather than tothe essence, the goal of this paper is to ground the importance of understandingsubjectivity as a process, mainly when regarding our current discussions aboutidentity and gender. After that, we do some linkage between art and psychology. Forus, art is understood as a powerfulmanner to encourage modes of subjectivation thathave difference as an inherited relation. Lastly, we draw our attention upon somefragments of the contemporaneous artist, Mathew Barney's work-of-art (specially,Cremaster), to see how it runs through the binaries of gender boundaries andlaunches post-identity lines of subjectivation.

Erkenntnisfortschritt durch Problematisierung

In diesem Beitrag wird das Problem behandelt, wie methodisch kontrollierter Erkenntnisfortschritt in der Erziehungswissenschaft theoretisch bestimmt werden kann. Hierzu wird der Lösungsansatz der erziehungswissenschaftlichen Komplexitätsforschung vorgestellt. Diese beschreibt Forschung als ein irreduzibles Wechselspiel von Perspektiven und sieht in der gegenseitigen Problematisierung theoretischer Standpunkte das Medium des methodisch kontrollierten Erkenntnisfortschritts. Anhand des Diskurses um die Begriffe ‚Bildung´ und ‚Subjektivation´ werden die Überlegungen konkretisiert. Es wird darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass eine wechselseitige Problematisierung theoretischer Standpunkte in diesem Kontext nicht auszumachen ist. Aus diesem Grund werden mögliche bildungstheoretische Einsätze markiert, die es erlauben, subjektivationstheoretische Problematisierungen ihrerseits zu problematisieren. Statt Resignifizierung vorschnell als eine Form von Bildung zu bestimmen, wird die Auffassung vertreten, dass ein Bildungsbegriff entwickelt werden müsse, der subjektivationstheoretischen Problematisierungen ebenso Rechnung trägt wie einem bereits erreichten bildungstheoretischen Problembewusstsein.

Una experiencia desde equipo técnico : tensiones y apuesta en torno a procesos de autonomía en personas discapacitadas

Nos proponemos en este trabajo tensionar los conceptos de discapacidad, sujeto y educación desde las miradas interdisciplinarias de un equipo que trabaja en una institución de escolaridad especial. Las concepciones epistemológicas que subyacen a las prácticas en la educación especial, como en otros campos, generan acciones y efectos de viejas y nuevas teorías. Revisamos estos supuestos y la naturalización de las prácticas y de las perspectivas. Como equipo hacemos referencia a la necesidad de un proceso permanente de construcción del rol, que permita pensarnos, interactuar, interrogarnos y discutir las diferentes intervenciones institucionales y comunitarias. Así, la conformación interdisciplinaria del equipo nos permite beneficiarnos con una mirada crítica hacia la diversidad y conformar una multiplicidad de observaciones sobre el objeto, lo que implica un capital simbólico muy importante. En éste trabajo es nuestro interés reflexionar acerca de las prácticas interprofesionales en los ámbitos donde se desarrollan los procesos educativos, tendientes a generar procesos de subjetivación y de construcción de ciudadanía posibilitando instancias de autonomía en los alumnos.

La «empresa» como modo de subjetivación

A partir de nuestra investigación con ejecutivos de corporaciones transnacionales en Brasil, analizamos la difusión de la forma empresa y argumentamos que está en formación un ethos a partir de un conjunto de valores que derivan de conceptos formulados por teorías económicas y difundidos por doctrinas de la administración. Así, nociones como capital humano, emprendedorismo, innovación pasan a orientar la conducta de las personas y el neoliberalismo se impone como racionalidad gubernamental: una lógica normativa que define en la actualidad una cierta mentalidad y estilo de vida. Proponemos pensar, desde el último Foucault, a la empresa como modo de subjetivación.

Una articulación de arte y política : Dislocaciones y rupturas en la poética de Edgardo Antonio Vigo (1968-1975)

Esta tesis, que integra los estudios de la Sociología del Arte, se centra en la vinculación de la poética del artista Edgardo Antonio Vigo (1928 - 1997) con la política y lo político, así como con los procesos sociales más generales entre 1968 y 1975. Vigo ocupó una posición emergente en el desarrollo del arte platense y desplegó producciones que emprendieron una poética rupturista con lo establecido por algunos de los cánones tradicionales del arte y sus instituciones, y elaboró propuestas estéticas innovadoras que abarcaban las artes visuales en sus diversas formas. Se analizan en esta tesis los modos por los que Vigo al mismo tiempo que apunta a cuestionar las estructuras y manifestaciones de las Bellas Artes, lo hace con las formas dominantes de la cultura a través de obras y textos que tendían a desestabilizar los roles de autor, espectador y obra, así como a involucrarse de distintos modos en los acontecimientos políticos de la época. Se estudian, además, las producción de acciones artísticas en el espacio público, que Vigo llamó señalamientos, la utilización y apropiación del discurso y aspectos materiales de lo judicial-administrativo y la edición de la revista ensamblada Hexágono '71 (1971 -1975). En estas zonas de la poética de Vigo se consideran las diversas relaciones entre arte y política, las cuales no han sido lineales ni unidireccionales, sino modos de distorsionar y disentir con las jerarquías, lugares y funciones de los sujetos y objetos del entramado social. Para la realización de la tesis se produjo un diseño metodológico cualitativo, se utilizaron fuentes documentales y entrevistas. Se desarrolla un análisis de las obras del artista, más que remitiéndolas a una corriente artística particular, haciendo foco en su relación con la situación social y política, especialmente en sus vinculaciones con el particular proceso de subjetivación política de la época. Se procuró para ello realizar una investigación que se detenga de manera pormenorizada en el trabajo artístico y sus particularidades (materiales, técnicas, formas, estrategias de intervención), así como en sus discursos escritos, plasmados en ensayos, artículos y otros textos, para avanzar desde allí hacia un análisis interpretativo y comprensivo de las conexiones y de los efectos que perseguía tal trabajo con los procesos políticos. El juego en las clases de Educación Física. ¿El propósito es promover o producir una manera de jugar?

Los actuales Diseños Curriculares para el Nivel Inicial y la Educación Primaria (Primer Ciclo) del Gobierno de la Provincia de Buenos Aires 2008, han mostrado en el área de Educación Física un gran interés por reivindicar y exigir la enseñanza del juego. En su lectura se puede apreciar que al profesor del área se le requiere que 'enriquezca', 'amplie', 'complejice', 'multiplique', y principalmente 'promueva' las experiencias de juego, por lo que posicionaría al profesor como 'mediador' quien 'dispondría' los recursos para el 'normal desarrollo' de ese jugar que porta cada niño/a.
