Acertos e desacertos em dicionários bilíngües português-espanhol/espanhol-português

A partir de um corpus constituído por dez dicionários bilíngües e da análise de suas macro e microestruturas, apresentam-se algumas constatações que justificam os cuidados a tomar no uso de dicionários português-espanhol/espanhol-português. Com o intuito de enriquecer o material analisado, são enumeradas algumas sugestões que podem vir a servir a lexicógrafos interessados em melhorarem o aporte no setor dos bilíngües do português/espanhol.

Dicionários de informática: uma análise comparativa

Este trabalho apresenta uma análise comparativa de alguns dicionários de informática, no que diz respeito, principalmente, à adequação de seus títulos e definições, metodologia de consulta, traduções sobre verbetes. Aponta, a partir de um levantamento feito com profissionais da área, as palavras mais comuns na informática e como são abordadas nesses dicionários.

Dicionários do português: da tradição à contemporaneidade

Este artigo expõe uma visão panorâmica sobre dicionários no mundo latino, focalizando a produção lexicográfica em Língua Portuguesa, particularmente os dicionários gerais da língua. Depois de historiar rapidamente os primórdios da dicionarística na tradição ocidental, descreve, em linhas gerais, as primeiras grandes obras lexicográficas em Português. Discorre, a seguir, sobre o início da produção lexicográfica no Brasil. No último item, este estudo examina a lexicografia em língua portuguesa na contemporaneidade, analisando e criticando quatro dicionários gerais do Português contemporâneo, sendo três brasileiros - o Aurélio (FERREIRA, 1999), o Houaiss (2001), o Dicionário de usos (BORBA, 2002) - e um português, o Dicionário da Academia de Ciências de Lisboa (DICIONÁRIO..., 2001).

A terminologia das Feiras de negócios: análise das variantes linguísticas

The trade fair industry has great relevance in the national and international economic environment and it is constantly expanding. The general objective of this work is to analyze the main linguistic variants found in the trade fair terminological set. Our research is based on the theories of Cabré (1993, 1999), Barros (2004), Krieger & Finatto (2004), Alves (2007), Barbosa (2009), Dubuc (1985), Berber Sardinha (2004), Babini (2006) and Faulstich (1998, 2001). For this work we constitute two corpora of specialized texts, one for English language and another for Portuguese language. Successively we performed a collection of terms using software for corpora processing. These terms were organized into two notional systems, one in English and another in Portuguese. Then we analyzed the main types of variants found in our terminological set. Among them, those who had higher productivity are the lexical variants, followed by graphical, morphological and syntactic variants.

Terminologia e tradução juramentada: questões de tipologia textual e equivalência terminológica interlinguística Português-francês-italiano

In this study we analyse a body of documents in sworn translation from and to Portuguese in relation to French and Italian. Our objective has been to check the textual typology most requested for sworn translation in these languages and to outline a profile of the terminology recurrent in these types of text. We also present examples of interlinguistic terminological equivalence which become apparent when one translates some of the types of text in our corpus. The data presented here was obtained by the LexTraJu-O lexical project of sworn translation, of which the research is developed in the São José do Rio Preto campus of UNESP with the objective of obtaining resources for the improvement of the Translation Courses of this institution and of making a contribution to translation studies on the theme of sworn translation.

Turpilóquio em português e italiano: reflexões sobre marcas de uso de itens tabus em dicionários

In this paper, we tried to understand the place of taboo words and their importance in the language. We focused questions about the taboo and how words can be prohibited. We elected swear words as our object of research because these words have an important place in the lexicon of many speakers, and they are present in books and movies, as well as in the everyday speech. Therefore, we tried to show that they must be analyzed with attention and also free from prejudices. We found out that the use of bad words can be very different in the languages selected and they reflect thus the culture of the languages involved.

Lematização de unidades fraseológicas diacríticas em dicionários bilíngues espanhol/português

In this paper we consider a broad conception of phraseology to propose a description and analysis of phraseological units of stemming diacritical Spanish / Portuguese bilingual dictionaries. The focus of the analysis seeks to show not only the organization of the macro-structure proposed by two different lexicographical works, but also to discuss the use of labels and equivalences presented. Phraseological units are understood here as diacritical phraseologisms containing unique lexias, lacking syntactic and semantic autonomy recognized by speaker only within fixed expressions.

A tradução de resumos médicos como meio de aprendizagem do processo tradutório e da terminologia especializada

This paper is part of a larger project that is being developed at our university, whose goal is to enable students of Literature and Translation to detect and analyze linguistic phenomena based on electronic corpora, consisting of original texts and texts translated, which show the general language, literary language and specialized language. One of its aspects is the analysis of medical abstracts and their translation process. Thus, this undergraduate research project, we seek to observe the technical-scientific English language by performing translations of abstracts of scientific articles of Neurology and Oncology.
