O cangaço no cordel e a constituição de uma identidade regionalista pelo migrante nordestino (1950-1980)

Neste trabalho, a partir da recorrência à literatura de cordel como fonte histórica, será apresentada de que forma a reprodução da temática do cangaço nesses folhetos permitem que os migrantes nordestinos constituam uma identidade regionalista baseada no apego aos valores tradicionais da sua região natal. Dentro desse contexto, relacionamos o processo migratório dos nordestinos para as grandes metrópoles situadas no Sudeste, sobretudo Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo, com a difusão e recepção dos cordéis nesses estados entre as décadas de 1950 e 1980. No que concerne a abordagem do cangaço nos versos da literatura de cordel, na qual atribui aos cangaceiros o papel de símbolos regionais, serão pontuadas as principais estratégias adotadas pelos cordelistas que possibilitam a identificação e a empatia dos migrantes vindos do Nordeste com os personagens do cangaço narrados nos folhetos, contribuindo para um maior estreitamento entre Nordeste e nordestino. Nesse sentido, vale ressaltar a ressignificação da imagem dos cangaceiros, deslocando sua representação de homens cruéis e bárbaros para a reprodução de heróis-vilãos, isto é, protagonistas de personalidades ambíguas e contraditórias

Maracanazo e Mineiratzen: Imprensa e Representação da Seleção Brasileira nas Copas do Mundo de 1950 e 2014.

O esporte, entre as suas diversas variantes, é meio de expressão das construções acerca da identidade nacional. O futebol atua como um elemento aglutinador de etnias e classes e é uma importante maneira de influenciar a visão que o brasileiro tem de si próprio. No Brasil, a Seleção funciona como instrumento unificador de nação, representante da cultura nacional. Ao representar os atletas e equipe, os meios de comunicação acabam por construir imagens que influenciam nos sentidos de pertencimento em relação ao objeto retratado. Por meio dos discursos adotados pela imprensa, atribuímos valores simbólicos que geram identificação. A disputa de uma Copa do Mundo FIFA é um momento em que o sentimento de nacionalidade é avivado diante da competição entre times de futebol que correspondem a Estados-nação. No entanto, os últimos anos teriam demonstrado uma queda de interesse do torcedor nacional pelo selecionado. O Brasil, por duas oportunidades, foi sede de um Mundial. E, nas duas ocasiões, a Seleção Brasileira sofreu derrotas e não conseguiu conquistar o título jogando em seu território. O trabalho, um estudo sobre Comunicação e Esporte, é uma análise dos textos dos jornais impressos O Globo e Folha na cobertura das Copas do Mundo de 1950 e 2014. Busca-se, uma vez que se percebera o vínculo simbólico entre o conceito de nação e o desempenho da Seleção nacional de futebol, entender como foram construídas as representações da equipe e, consequentemente, dos seus jogadores e quais amostras que podem identificar a relação de aproximação ou afastamento com os torcedores, nas competições que marcaram as duas principais derrotas da Seleção em cem anos de história.

An assessment of the stock of scad and mackerel at Sofala Bank and Boa Paz, Mozambique

The fishery for scad and mackerel along the coast of Mozambique began as a licensed fishery in 1977. In 1980, Mosopesca, a joint venture between Mozambique and the Soviet Union was formed and the licensed fishery ceased. Mosopesca started fishing with four vessels, but since 1984 the number of vessels has gradually been increased and at the end of 1985 a total of seven vessels was in operation. This report contains an updated assessment based mainly on information collected from July 1984 to May 1986.

The annual report presents progress on research activities carried by the organization during the reporting period. The general policy was to integrate the work of every individual on the staff so that all consider themselves members of a scientific team, and so that new problems as they arise could be investigated from more than one aspect. The complete mitochondrial genome of the ridgetail white prawn Exopalaemon carinicauda Holthuis, 1950 (Crustacean: Decapoda: Palaemonidae) revealed a novel rearrangement of tRNA genes

The complete mitochondrial (mt) DNA sequence was determined for a ridgetail white prawn, Exopalaemon carinicauda Holthuis, 1950 (Crustacea: Decopoda: Palaemonidae). The mt genome is 15,730 bp in length, encoding a standard set of 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 22 transfer RNA genes, which is typical for metazoans. The majority-strand consists of 33.6% A, 23.0% C, 13.4% G, and 30.0% T bases (AT skew = 0.057: GC skew = -0.264). A total of 1045 bp of non-coding nucleotides were observed in 16 intergenic regions,,including a major A+ T rich (79.7%) noncoding region (886 bp). A novel translocation of tRNA(Pro) and tRNA(Thr) was found when comparing this genome with the pancrustacean ground pattern indicating that gene order is not conserved among caridean mitochondria. Furthermore, the rate of Ka/Ks in 13 protein-coding genes between three caridean species is Much less than 1, which indicates a strong Purifying selection within this group. To investigate the phylogenetic relationship within Malacostraca, phylogenetic trees based oil Currently available malacostracan complete mitochondrial sequences were built with the maximum likelihood and Bayesian models. All analyses based oil nucleotide and amino acid data strongly support the monophyly of Decapoda. The Penaeidae, Reptantia, Caridea, and Meiura clades were also recovered as monophyletic groups with Strong Statistical Support. A SURVEY OF FRENCH KEYBOARD MUSIC FROM 1880 TO 1950

French music flourished from the last quarter of the nineteenth century into the early twentieth century, especially in the genres of opera and orchestral music. Although French keyboard music enjoyed less popularity, being overshadowed by these predominant genres, prominent impressionist figures Claude Debussy (1862-1918) and Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) . . brought its revival to the French music. Scholars consider Debussy to be a frontrunner of Impressionism, and his influence had a major impact on subsequent composers. As a result of his popularity, other significant works by French composers seem to be overlooked by pianists and audiences and are not as often performed. Because keyboard works by Debussy and Ravel are a popular performance choice among pianists, I was eager to examine music by other French composers. Through my resea,rch, I found many great works that warranted further study and deserve a place in the keyboard repertoire. This recording project contains works by lesser-known French composers written between the years of 1880 and 1950, namely Emmanuel Chabrier (1841-1894), Gabriel-Urbain Faure (1845-1924), Charles Koechlin (1867-1950), Albert Roussel (1869-1937), Erik Satie (1866-1925), Francis Poulenc (1899-1963), Darius Milhaud (1892-1974), Robert Casadesus (1899-1972) and Henri Dutilleux (b.1916). Since piano repertoire is abundant, it is sometimes difficult to create a performance program. Therefore, it frequently becomes the default to choosing familiar repertoire rather than using the opportunity to expand the repertoire. As a pianist, I feel responsible to search for hidden musical treasures with which pianists and audiences alike are not so well acquainted. This recording project explores nine lesser-known French compositions written between 1880 and 1950. I expect this to be an opportunity to introduce both pianists and audiences to outstanding but unfamiliar works by French composers. This dissertation was recorded on two compact discs in Dekelboum Concert Hall at Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center of the University of Maryland. The recordings are archived in the University of Maryland Library.
