A diversidade organizacional está contida na dimensão social da sustentabilidade e diz respeito à heterogeneidade de raças, gêneros, idades e habilidades físicas, dentre outros aspectos, das pessoas que compõem as organizações. A gestão da diversidade organizacional impõe desafios às empresas, podendo gerar desigualdades. Uma das formas de divulgação de indicadores sociais é a publicação de relatórios de sustentabilidade, sendo que o mais reconhecido mundialmente e no Brasil é o Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Assim sendo, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi identificar a diversidade e possíveis desigualdades de gêneros, raças, gerações e pessoas com deficiências nas empresas brasileiras que reportaram o relatório de sustentabilidade GRI, entre 2009 e 2013. Para alcançar tal objetivo, as variáveis foram definidas com base na literatura e em indicadores de diversidade do GRI e a coleta de dados se deu por meio do acesso aos relatórios GRI publicados no Brasil em um período de cinco anos. Para verificação das hipóteses, foram utilizados testes estatísticos não paramétricos e medidas de tendência central (média e mediana). Os resultados mostraram que as empresas analisadas possuíam, em seus quadros funcionais de forma geral, homens e mulheres, variadas raças e diversas gerações e nem todas mencionaram possuir pessoas com deficiências. Constatou-se que há predominância de homens, de brancos e da geração X tanto nos cargos de liderança quanto em demais cargos; que existem diferenças salariais entre homens e mulheres tanto nos cargos de liderança quanto em demais cargos e os homens perfazem maiores salários; que o sexo masculino e a geração Y apresentam maior taxa de rotatividade e que o percentual médio de pessoas com deficiências presentes nas empresas encontra-se dentro da cota estabelecida pela Lei nº 8.213/91. Logo, em meio à diversidade organizacional, verificou-se que havia desigualdades. Neste sentido, a gestão da diversidade deveria ser melhorada e as desigualdades precisariam ser enfrentadas para não comprometerem a sustentabilidade.

The configuration assumed by the institutional governance arrangement established in the cities of Fortaleza and Natal, and its influence on the implementation of the National Public Policy of Professional Learning that promotes the formation and integration into the labor market of teens and young people aged 14 to 24 years old and people with disabilities is the aim of this thesis. The interactive governance approach, proposed by Kooiman (2003.2008) was the mainstay of the epistemological construction of the investigative process, also supported by contributions from Draibe (2001) concerning the stages of implementation of public policies. In methodological terms, the approach used was qualitative, being performed descriptive bibliographical and documentary research, applying semi-structured interviews with 44 subjects. Data were based on Bardin (2011), having been pre-established two categories of analysis: governance and implementation. The results pointed, among other things, to greater diversity and dynamics of the arrangement in Fortaleza, highlighting the much larger number of accessions of Nonprofit Entities (ESFLs) to politics, more frequent interactions between stakeholders from different organizational levels of governance, better alignment between guiding governance images and spaces designed to encourage interactions among actors and also greater local government involvement. In both cities studied, on the other hand, the study indicated that the failure of institutional capacities adversely affect the interactions stimulation and the exercise of meta-governance. The thesis concluded that the shape and intensity of the interactions between the actors involved in the implementation of the National Public Policy of Professional Learning and the way images are shared results in greater understanding and dissemination of the policy and create a favorable environment for cooperation and dialogue needed to collective work and favors the modeling of a governance structure able to handle the demands and characteristics of organizations and their participants in order to accommodate the divergent interests, make room for the creation of innovations and convergence of actions to achieve the objectives of the policy. Thus, the results of the Professional Learning Policy in the cities of Natal and Fortaleza, in terms of levels of entering the labor market, can be understood from the differences found in the governance structure of the institutional arrangement used for its implementation.

Introducción: La evaluación de programas sociales, ha sido, desde sus inicios, de gran importancia para fortalecer los procesos de toma de decisiones de los hacedores de los programas, ya que retroalimenta lo ejecutado y ayuda a aplicar correctivos necesarios para lograr el impacto deseado en la población objetivo, que generalmente son comunidades vulnerables como las personas con discapacidad. En los últimos años, esta población ha sido foco de múltiples programas y proyectos en diferentes temáticas como la actividad física, la recreación, el deporte y la educación física. Por esto, en el año 2013, Coldeportes en aras de poder parametrizar y permitir un impacto adecuado en esta población, diseñó un grupo de lineamientos los cuales son los encargados de generar las directrices de los programas que se diseñen y ejecuten en los entes territoriales. Para poder realizar el seguimiento y resultado de su aplicación, es necesario hacerlo por intermedio de una herramienta de evaluación. De acuerdo con las últimas tendencias en la evaluación de programas sociales, debe hacerse por intermedio de indicadores, los cuales permiten realizarla de una manera más eficiente. Por tal motivo, la herramienta de evaluación para los lineamientos será a través de indicadores. Objetivo: Generar una herramienta de evaluación para los programas y actividades en actividad física, recreación y deporte para la población con discapacidad en Colombia, a partir de los lineamientos de inclusión definidos por Coldeportes. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica acerca de la evaluación de programas sociales, indicadores de evaluación y población con discapacidad, seguido a esto se diseñaron los indicadores de evaluación con base en las variables de los lineamientos propuestos por Coldeportes, posteriormente, los indicadores fueron sometidos a una validación en un grupo nominal, conformado por expertos en programas sociales y trabajo en población con discapacidad, por último, se sistematizaron y analizaron los resultados. iii Resultados: La herramienta de evaluación fue validada por parte de los expertos, hubo ajustes en los indicadores de evaluación de los lineamientos de accesibilidad a la comunicación e información, accesibilidad a la formación académica y accesibilidad al entorno físico. Conclusiones: La herramienta de evaluación diseñada, es un primer paso para mejorar los métodos actuales de evaluación, encaminada a fortalecer los datos existentes de la población con discapacidad y tener una visión del impacto de los planes, programas y proyectos en actividad física, recreación y deporte ejecutados en la actualidad, por lo cual queda continuar con la investigación en nuevas alternativas de evaluación que permitan mejorar los procesos de toma de decisiones y así garantizar planes, programas y proyectos sociales adecuados para la población, sin distinguir características particulares.

This study examined the impact of computer and assistive device use on the employment status and vocational modes of people with physical disabilities in Australia. A survey was distributed to people over 15 years in age with physical disabilities living in the Brisbane area. Responses were received from 82 people, including those with spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy. Of respondents 46 were employed, 22 were unemployed, and 12 were either students or undertaking voluntary work. Three-quarters of respondents used a computer in their occupations, while 15 used assistive devices. Using logistic regression analysis it was found that gender, education, level of computer skill and computer training were significant predictors of employment outcomes. Neither the age of respondent nor use of assistive software were significant predictors. From information obtained in this study guidelines for a training programme designed to maximize the employability of people with physical disabilities were developed.

Mainstream schooling is a key policy in the promotion of social inclusion of young people with learning disabilities. Yet there is limited evidence about the school experience of young people about to leave mainstream as compared with segregated education, and how it impacts on their relative view of self and future aspirations. Sixty young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in their final year of secondary school participated in this study. Twenty-eight individuals came from mainstream schools and 32 attended segregated school. They completed a series of self-report measures on perceptions of stigma, social comparison to a more disabled and non-disabled peer and the likelihood involved in attaining their future goals. The majority of participants from both groups reported experiencing stigmatized treatment in the local area where they lived. The mainstream group reported significant additional stigma at school. In terms of social comparisons, both groups compared themselves positively with a more disabled peer and with a non-disabled peer. While the mainstream pupils had more ambitious work-related aspirations, both groups felt it equally likely that they would attain their future goals. Although the participants from segregated schools came from significantly more deprived areas and had lower scores on tests of cognitive functioning, neither of these factors appeared to have an impact on their experience of stigma, social comparisons or future aspirations. Irrespective of schooling environment, the young people appeared to be able to cope with the threats to their identities and retained a sense of optimism about their future. Nevertheless, negative treatment reported by the children was a serious source of concern and there is a need for schools to promote the emotional well-being of pupils with intellectual disabilities.

This project engages people with learning disabilities as co-researchers and co-designers in the development of multisensory interactive artworks, with the aim of making museums or heritage sites more interesting, meaningful, and fun. This article describes our explorations, within this context, of a range of technologies including squishy circuits, littleBits, and easy-build websites, and presents examples of objects created by the co-researchers such as “sensory boxes” and interactive buckets, baskets, and boots. Public engagement is an important part of the project and includes an annual public event and seminar day, a blog rich with photos and videos of the workshops, and an activities book to give people ideas for creating their own sensory explorations of museums and heritage sites.

We argue that it is important for researchers and service providers to not only recognize the rights of children and young people with learning disabilities to have a ‘voice’, but also to work actively towards eliciting views from all. A set of guidelines for critical self-evaluation by those engaged in systematically collecting the views of children and young people with learning disabilities is proposed. The guidelines are based on a series of questions concerning: research aims and ethics (encompassing access/gatekeepers; consent/assent; confidentiality/anonymity/secrecy, recognition, feedback and ownership; and social responsibility) sampling, design and communication

This article describes how the project brings together artists, engineers, and experts in multimedia advocacy, as well as people with learning disabilities in the co-design of interactive multisensory objects that replicate or respond to objects of cultural significance in our national collections. Through a series of staged multi-sensory art and electronics workshops, people with learning disabilities explore how the different senses could be utilised to augment existing artefacts or create entirely new ones. The co-researchers employ multimedia advocacy tools to reflect on and to communicate their experiences and findings.

This chapter will start by providing an overview of current knowledge about young people with learning disabilities who sexually abuse. Research cited will, unless otherwise indicated, be limited to UK studies since international variations in the definitions of both learning disability and sexual abuse make the use of a wider literature base problematic – particularly that relating to prevalence and incidence. It will then go on to report key findings from a recent study (Fyson et al, 2003; Fyson, 2005) which examined how special schools and statutory child protection and youth offending services in four English local authorities responded to sexually inappropriate or abusive behaviours exhibited by young people with learning disabilities. It will conclude by highlighting areas of current practice which give cause for concern, and suggest some pointers for future best practice.
