Currently, a lot of visual information present in all media is form vehemently, for example, in print media and interfaces used for publicity in conjunction with informational design. This visual information has great influence in the life of human beings, since the vision of these individuals is the most used sense. Studies on visual identity have not explored this issue in a satisfactory manner, favoring thus the subject of this small development projects in the area. It is noted the need for analyzes to enable implementation principles of project, making them accessible to the comprehension of most individuals. This study aimed to propose an evaluation of visual identities, which were analyzed by means of visual concepts of usability, design methodologies and Gestalt. We contacted design firms specialized in visual identity projects, places where interviews were conducted to collect the brands allowed for analysis. The results point to a frequent demand for the employment of visual usability principles, design methodologies and Gestalt design in visual identities.

From a bibliographical study, the objective is the study of children's literature and its contributions in the lives of pre-readers, especially from zero to three years. This course of completion of work includes Children's Literature and Visual Arts, addressing the relationship between the illustration and children's books, indicating the importance of their contact from the first years of life, and how much contribute to the emotional, cognitive and child's learning, also helping to solve problems they will face throughout life, awakening the imagination and creativity, necessary factors in the child's education. By reading the stories, by adults, children are immersed in an imaginary world which stimulates the drawing, the music, to leave, thinking, imagining, playing, seeing the book and write, so the allies books Early Childhood Education will help the child, making it capable person, critical and interested in learning. In addition to attracting and marvel children, illustrations and graphic design aroused the interest in books and reading, inspiring the imagination and creation, therefore, the books submitted for babies should be made of materials that are suitable for their age group therefore more resistant and attractive, containing attributes for the development of motor and sensory skills of babies and children

One of the actual biggest problems in big towns is the visual pollution. The advertising has become a necessity for any type of business, resulting in the use of as urban spaces as possible like fronts structures, lights, with too many colors and details to keep the attention of sight, thus becoming an important problem for the social and cultural coexistence. The work of graphic designer can reduce this problem through the concepts of visual identity applied on the enterprise building front, giving harmony in the colors and spaces where they can apply the advertising without to attack the urban beauty and esthetics.

This paper conducts an analysis of the cover of the first issue of Trace magazine, conceived and edited by a group of graphic artists from Bauru (SP) published in November 1987 from the study proposed by Donald Norman (2008) especially through the visceral, behavioral and reflective approaches. This is a critical exercise, based on the study, of the use and application of the theory of Norman, which focuses on the development and focusing the scope of graphic design.

BACKGROUND Research ethics approvals, procedures and requirements for institutional research ethics committees vary considerably by country and by type of organisation. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the requirements and procedures of research ethics committees, details of patient information and informed consent based on a multicentre European trial. DESIGN Survey of European hospitals participating in the prospective observational study on chronic postsurgical pain (euCPSP) using electronic questionnaires. SETTING Twenty-four hospitals in 11 European countries. PARTICIPANTS From the 24 hospitals, 23 local investigators responded; 23 answers were analysed. OUTCOME MEASURES Comparison of research ethics procedures and committee requirements from the perspective of clinical researchers. Comparison of the institutions' procedures regarding patient information and consent. Description of further details such as costs and the duration of the approval process. RESULTS The approval process lasted from less than 2 weeks up to more than 2 months with financial fees varying between 0 and 575 &OV0556;. In 20 hospitals, a patient information sheet of variable length (half page up to two pages) was provided. Requirements for patients' informed consent differed. Written informed consent was mandatory at 12, oral at 10 and no form of consent at one hospital. Details such as enough time for consideration, possibility for withdrawal and risks/benefits of participation were provided in 25 to 30% of the institutions. CONCLUSION There is a considerable variation in the administrative requirements for approval procedures by research ethics committees in Europe. This results in variation of the extent of information and consent procedures for the patients involved. OBJECTIVES Primary care physicians (PCPs) should prescribe faecal immunochemical testing (FIT) or colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening based on their patient's values and preferences. However, there are wide variations between PCPs in the screening method prescribed. The objective was to assess the impact of an educational intervention on PCPs' intent to offer FIT or colonoscopy on an equal basis. DESIGN Survey before and after training seminars, with a parallel comparison through a mailed survey to PCPs not attending the training seminars. SETTING All PCPs in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. PARTICIPANTS Of 592 eligible PCPs, 133 (22%) attended a seminar and 106 (80%) filled both surveys. 109 (24%) PCPs who did not attend the seminars returned the mailed survey. INTERVENTION A 2 h-long interactive seminar targeting PCP knowledge, skills and attitudes regarding offering a choice of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening options. OUTCOME MEASURES The primary outcome was PCP intention of having their patients screened with FIT and colonoscopy in equal proportions (between 40% and 60% each). Secondary outcomes were the perceived role of PCPs in screening decisions (from paternalistic to informed decision-making) and correct answer to a clinical vignette. RESULTS Before the seminars, 8% of PCPs reported that they had equal proportions of their patients screened for CRC by FIT and colonoscopy; after the seminar, 33% foresaw having their patients screened in equal proportions (p<0.001). Among those not attending, there was no change (13% vs 14%, p=0.8). Of those attending, there was no change in their perceived role in screening decisions, while the proportion responding correctly to a clinical vignette increased (88-99%, p<0.001). CONCLUSIONS An interactive training seminar increased the proportion of physicians with the intention to prescribe FIT and colonoscopy in equal proportions.

The chapbooks created in the year ending in June 2012 include eleven themed collections and three installments of “In Thirteen Moons,” which didn’t get completed till that fall. This Wildest Year brings together the poems of the eleven themed chapbooks, each as a separate chapter. I have e-published this book for three reasons. First, the chapbooks have all been printed in very limited runs, and few copies remain to be shared with friends, old and new. Second, by ordering the chapters more or less chronologically, one can more easily see themes unfold and new connections made. And finally, this e-book is a bit of an experiment, allowing me to develop skills in self-publishing and graphic design. I hope you will find it to be a successful experiment.

En el Taller Provincial de Educación Ambiental (octubre 1996), organizado por el Ministerio de Ambiente del Gobierno de Mendoza, financiado por BID y Secretaría de Recursos Naturales y Ambiente Humano, Presidencia de la Nación Argentina surge la idea, iniciativa del Dr. Thomas, de realizar un poster educativo ambiental de Mendoza, a ser distribuido entre todas las escuelas y niveles. Titulado Mendoza es tu naturaleza, se Tu Como El Cuyum es considerado herramienta para superar dificultades de docentes que enseñan temas ambientales. El objetivo es guiar al observador, adulto, docente o niño, hacia diferentes problemas ambientales del territorio provincial. Señalar costumbres perjudiciales como quemar hojas de árboles, malgastar agua potable, ensuciar acequias. También hacia temas como residuos, tránsito urbano, deshechos industriales, remediación minera, contaminación de aire y agua, deportes en conflicto con el ambiente, destrucción de flora y fauna nativa, sitios protegidos. Los costos de 40.000 ejemplares impresos en Alemania son asumidos por UFZ/Liepzig. Las tareas locales se realizaron entre Ministerio de Ambiente; diseñadores gráficos y CIFOT, para la posterior distribución en escuelas.

Análisis semiótico del afiche Identidad Corporativa de la serie No Logos o Multinacionales, del diseñador Ricardo Colombano, realizado en el año 2005 como integrante del Grupo Grapo. Estudio sintáctico, semántico y pragmático que permite conocer cómo el autor usa el lenguaje del Diseño Gráfico, con un fuerte mensaje de liberación e independencia, para convencer a sus lectores de lo contrario que venden las empresas multinacionales en sus anuncios publicitarios.

Las gráficas de etiquetas para envases de vino son diseñadas a partir de características sintácticas, semánticas y pragmáticas. Este trabajo tiene por objetivos realizar una recopilación, clasificación, análisis y jerarquización de los componentes de la configuración de etiquetas de vino, y además, proveer un instrumento que permita un análisis de estas piezas gráficas, de manera individual, con carácter de sistema o en comparación. Podrá ser aplicado por los profesionales que diseñan etiquetas y envases, por docentes en el campo del diseño y en guías para el público usuario. (…) “los diseñadores nos convertimos en el nexo simbólico entre la calidad de los productos elaborados por nuestros clientes y la calidad de vida de aquéllos que los disfrutan. Somos los que preparamos la logística simbólica que explicita estéticamente lo que un buen vino necesita para llamar la atención. Se trata de crear la imagen que represente fielmente al conjunto de atributos del vino, y de resaltar visualmente esta red de placeres que están presentes en él. Sólo así se logra una relación de confianza con la marca". (Santiago Zemma, 2005).
