Predictive models of friction-induced vibration have proved elusive despite decades of research. There are many mechanisms that can cause brake squeal; friction coupled systems can be highly sensitive to small perturbations; and the dynamic properties of friction at the contact zone seem to be poorly understood. This paper describes experimental and theoretical work aimed at identifying the key ingredients of a predictive model. A large-scale experiment was carried out to identify squeal initiations using a pin-on-disc test rig: approximately 30,000 squeal initiations were recorded, covering a very wide range of frequencies. The theoretical model allows for completely general linear systems coupled at a single sliding point by friction: squeal is predicted using a linearised stability analysis. Results will be presented that show that almost all observed squeal events can be predicted within this model framework, but that some subsets require innovative friction modelling: predictions are highly dependent on the particular choice of friction model and its associated parameters. We compare the electronic characteristics of nanowire field-effect transistors made using single pure wurtzite and pure zincblende InAs nanowires grown from identical catalyst particles. We compare the transfer characteristics and field-effect mobility versus temperature for these devices to better understand how differences in InAs phase govern the electronic properties of nanowire transistors. © 2013 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Lake Dianchi is a shallow and turbid lake, located in Southwest China. Since 1985, Lake Dianchi has experienced severe cyanabacterial blooms (dominated by Microcystis spp.). In extreme cases, the algal cell densities have exceeded three billion cells per liter. To predict and elucidate the population dynamics ofMicrocystis spp. in Lake Dianchi, a neural network based model was developed. The correlation coefficient (R 2) between the predicted algal concentrations by the model and the observed values was 0.911. Sensitivity analysis was performed to clarify the algal dynamics to the changes of environmental factors. The results of a sensitivity analysis of the neural network model suggested that small increases in pH could cause significantly reduced algal abundance. Further investigations on raw data showed that the response of Microcystis spp. concentration to pH increase was dependent on algal biomass and pH level. When Microcystis spp. population and pH were moderate or low, the response of Microcystis spp. population would be more likely to be positive in Lake Dianchi; contrarily, Microcystis spp. population in Lake Dianchi would be more likely to show negative response to pH increase when Microcystis spp. population and pH were high. The paper concluded that the extremely high concentration of algal population and high pH could explain the distinctive response of Microcystis spp. population to +1 SD (standard deviation) pH increase in Lake Dianchi. And the paper also elucidated the algal dynamics to changes of other environmental factors. One SD increase of water temperature (WT) had strongest positive relationship with Microcystis spp. biomass. Chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total phosphorus (TP) had strong positive effect on Microcystis spp. abundance while total nitrogen (TN), biological oxygen demand in five days (BOD5), and dissolved oxygen had only weak relationship with Microcystis spp. concentration. And transparency (Tr) had moderate positive relationship with Microcystis spp. concentration.

The occurrence of the microcystins in the water bodies, especially in drinking water resources, has received considerable attentions. In situ chemical oxidation is a promising cost-effective treatment method to remove MC from water body. This research investigated the reaction kinetics of the oxidation of MCRR by permanganate. Experimental results indicate that the reaction is second order overall and first order with respect to both permanganate and MCRR, and has an activation energy of 18.9 kJ/mol. The second-order rate constant ranges from 0.154 to 0.225 l/mg/min at temperature from 15 to 30 degrees C. The MCRR degradation rates can be accelerated through increasing reaction temperature and oxidant concentration. The reaction under acid conditions was slightly faster than under alkaline conditions. The half-life of the reaction was less than 1 min, and more than 99.5% of MCRR was degraded within 10 min. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

We proposed a novel methodology, which firstly, extracting features from species' complete genome data, using k-tuple, followed by studying the evolutionary relationship between SARS-CoV and other coronavirus species using the method, called "High-dimensional information geometry". We also used the mothod, namely "caculating of Minimum Spanning Tree", to construct the Phyligenetic tree of the coronavirus. From construction of the unrooted phylogenetic tree, we found out that the evolution distance between SARS-CoV and other coronavirus species is comparatively far. The tree accurately rebuilt the three groups of other coronavirus. We also validated the assertion from other literatures that SARS-CoV is similar to the coronavirus species in Group I.

本文报道了固体生物质气化动力学研究的实验系统和试验结果,重点描述了反应温度对热分解速率、热分解产物及其质量的影响。同时报道了气相停留时间和气相二次反应对热解结果的影响,对水蒸汽与炭的反应及焦炭燃烧反应与温度的关系也作了讨论。最后根据实验结果,提出了快速热分解反应经过的途径和机理。

采用2种不同夏玉米基因型(陕单9号,抗旱品种;陕单911,不抗旱品种)的盆栽试验,研究了长期水分胁迫下氮、钾对各生育期叶片净光合速率、蒸腾速率、胞间二氧化碳浓度和叶绿素含量的影响,旨在从光合生理特性揭示这些因子的抗旱机理。结果表明,长期水分胁迫下叶片净光合速率,蒸腾速率、胞间二氧化碳浓度(除成熟期)和叶绿素含量显著降低,不抗旱品种降幅更甚。抗旱品种的净光合速率和叶绿素含量大于不抗旱品种,而蒸腾速率和胞间二氧化碳浓度则相反。两品种苗期光合作用较弱,净光合速率和叶绿素含量均较低,抽雄期达到高峰。施氮能不同程度降低水分胁迫下玉米叶片的蒸腾速率,增加叶绿素含量.提高净光合速率,从而减缓水分胁迫对光合作用的伤害。随氮肥用量增加,不抗旱品种净光合速率和叶绿素含量显著升高,蒸腾速率和胞间二氧化碳浓度明显降低,两种氮肥用量间有显著差异;抗旱品种在低氮用量时效果显著,但高低氮用量间无显著区别。钾对受水分胁迫的玉米表现出比氮肥更突出的效果。相反,在适量供水条件下,氮、钾肥的作用明显下降。以上结果表明,适当用量的氮、钾肥可以有效地改善水分胁迫下作物叶片的光合特性,从而增强作物的抗旱性。

A new nortriterpenoid, 20-hydroxymicrandilactone D (1) and a novel lignan glycoside, lancilignanside A (2) were isolated from leaves and stems of Schisandra lancifolia, together with three known nortriterpenoids (3—5) and nine known phenolics (6—14). The structures of new compounds 1 and 2 were determined by detailed analysis of their 1D and 2D NMR spectra, and chemical evidences. In addition, compounds 1—2, 6—7, and 9—11 showed anti-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1 activities with 50% effective concentration (EC50) in the range of 3.0—99.0m g/ml. Compound 12 was not bioactive in this assay with EC50 more than 200m g/ml.

研制了用于光干涉测量的单稳频、窄线宽光栅外腔半导体激光器(LD).它由出光面镀有增透膜的单管半导体激光器、光束校正准直系统、闪耀光栅、注入电流驱动系统及温度控制系统组成.闪耀光栅作为外腔光反馈元件对单管半导体激光器输出的纵模进行选择,使之工作在单纵模状态.外腔的引入还使输出光的谱线宽度得以大大压窄.注入电流驱动系统为半导体激光器提供工作电流.温度控制系统由双层温控组成.第一层用于控制单管半导体激光器管芯温度;另一层用于及时带走第一层温控产生的热量,并消除环境温度影响,使外腔温度稳定.该温控系统可使所构成激光器的温度稳定在1‰℃量级.对研制的外腔半导体激光器的特性进行测试,其输出功率恒定、模式单一稳定、谱线宽度优于1.4 MHz.

A 1.55μm Fabry-Perot (F-P) thermo-optical tunable filter is fabricated. The cavity is made of amorphous silicon (a-Si) layer grown by electron-beam evaporation technique. Due to the excellent thermo-optical property of a-Si, the refractive index of the F-P cavity will be changed by heating; the transmittance resonant peak will therefore shift substantially. The measured tuning range is 12nm, FWHM (full-width-at-half-maximum) of the transmission peak is 9nm, and heating efficiency is 0.1K/mW. The large FWHM is mainly due to the non-ideal coating deposition and mirror undulation. Possible improvements to increase the efficiency of heating are suggested.
