Este trabajo evalúa la usabilidad de la web de Renfe, comparándola con sitios de características similares, particularmente en Francia y Alemania. Para este análisis se efectúa un test de usuario con personas enmarcadas dentro de las características de los usuarios potenciales.

Mobile E-commerce business model – A value web based approach to business models in mobile gaming industry

Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tutkia langattomien internet palveluiden arvoverkkoa ja liiketoimintamalleja. Tutkimus oli luonteeltaan kvalitatiivinen ja siinä käytettiin strategiana konstruktiivista case-tutkimusta. Esimerkkipalveluna oli Treasure Hunters matkapuhelinpeli. Tutkimus muodostui teoreettisesta ja empiirisestä osasta. Teoriaosassa liitettiin innovaatio, liiketoimintamallit ja arvoverkko käsitteellisesti toisiinsa, sekä luotiin perusta liiketoimintamallien kehittämiselle. Empiirisessä osassa keskityttiin ensin liiketoimintamallien luomiseen kehitettyjen innovaatioiden pohjalta. Lopuksi pyrittiin määrittämään arvoverkko palvelun toteuttamiseksi. Tutkimusmenetelminä käytettiin innovaatiosessiota, haastatteluja ja lomakekyselyä. Tulosten pohjalta muodostettiin useita liiketoimintakonsepteja sekä kuvaus arvoverkon perusmallista langattomille peleille. Loppupäätelmänä todettiin että langattomat palvelut vaativat toteutuakseen useista toimijoista koostuvan arvoverkon.

Web user interface architecture for advanced planning and scheduling systems Case: Nokia Demand / Supply Planning Applications

In modem hitec industry Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) systems provide the basis for e-business solutions towards the suppliers and the customers. One objective of this thesis was to clarify the modem supply chain management with the APS systems and especially concentrate on the area of Collaborative Planning. In order Advanced Planning and Scheduling systems to be complete and usable, user interfaces are needed. Current Visual Basic user interfaces have faced many complaints and arguments from the users as well as from the development team. This thesis is trying to analyze the reasons and causes for the encountered problems and also provide ways to overcome them. The decision has been made to build the new user interfaces to be Web-enabled. Therefore another objective of this thesis was to research and find suitable technologies for building the Web-based user interfaces for Advanced Planning and Scheduling Systems in Nokia Demand/Supply Planning business area. Comparison between the most suitable technologies is made. Usability issues of Web-enabled user interfaces are also covered. The empirical part of the thesis includes design and implementation of a Web-based user interface with the chosen technology for a particular APS module that enables Collaborative Planning with suppliers.

Políticas universitarias de difusión de la información a través de la propia web institucional

La difusión de la información se ha convertido en uno de los elementos críticos en los planes estratégicos de las instituciones universitarias. Inquietadas por su posición en los rankings internacionales que evalúan este tipo de instituciones, las universidades comienzan a preocuparse también por sus estrategias de difusión de información y sus webs institucionales. En este trabajo se abordan las funciones principales de las webs universitarias; el proceso de análisis, diseño e implementación en la creación de este tipo de sitios webs; los elementos mínimos que deben incluirse en una guía de estilo de web universitaria; y algunos de los principales estándares y referencias nacionales e internacionales de ese tipo de guías.

Web Services In Symbian OS

This thesis presents different aspects of Web Services usage in Symbian OS that is an operating system for handheld devices. The practical part of the work was to develop Symbian OS client application for Web Services. It produced four reusable software components. XML enables platform and programming language independent services. Web Services use XML to create standardized message oriented services that are accessed through HTTP. Web Services are moving towards dynamic B2B interaction. Web Services increases the amount of transferred data, which is not desirable in mobile networks where transfer speed is slower than in the traditional networks. However the modern mobile networks are able to transfer the extra payload with reasonable time. XML processing is not a big problem. Web Services can be accessed from the modern mobile devices and they can cut down the development costs.
