O processo ensino-pesquisa-extensão realizado com a imersão dos sujeitos em cenários reais possibilita a integração universidade-comunidade, ampliando a inserção social. O objetivo deste trabalho foi apresentar a experiência de um projeto conduzido em cinco municípios brasileiros, com a participação de docentes, pós-graduandos e acadêmicos, em parceria com prefeituras municipais e trabalhadores de saúde como cenário de ensino-pesquisa no SUS. Foram realizadas oficinas e cursos de capacitação com as equipes de saúde, gestores e conselheiros de saúde, visitas técnicas aos municípios para avaliação situacional e supervisão das atividades, avaliação da satisfação dos usuários e formação de lideranças populares. Observou-se a melhoria na organização dos serviços e estímulo ao fortalecimento do vínculo entre os usuários e prestadores de serviços. Essa experiência serviu como laboratório de aprendizagem e pesquisa, fazendo-se ciência a partir da vivência in loco da realidade do SUS e contribuindo para uma formação professional mais humanitária baseada em cenários reais.

Objective: To investigate the effect of applying two educational programs (one using a self-instructional approach and the other using a traditional approach similar to educational workshops), on the perceived frequency of musculoskeletal symptoms. Methods: A quasi-experimental study was conducted in 94 office workers in a public company. The participants were divided into three groups through simple randomized sampling with no replacement, The first group (32 employees) underwent a traditional/workshop program, the second (28) used a self-instructional manual and the third (34) was a Control Group. The frequency of musculoskeletal symptoms was measured by means of the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire, at the beginning of the program and 30 days after its completion. The statistical analysis consisted of descriptive statistics, a nonparametric analysis of variance technique for a repeated measure model in three independent groups and the Goodman test. Results: From the data collected in pre and post-test comparisons, it was observed that the traditional/workshop educational program significantly reduced the frequency of musculoskeletal symptoms over the final seven days. For the self-instructional manual group and control group, no difference was observed in the frequency of musculoskeletal symptoms, Conclusions: It could be concluded that the interventions. particularly the traditional approach using educational workshops, had a positive effect on the individuals' actions. Despite the complexity of some of the preventive measures needed, there was a reduction in musculoskeletal symptoms of the participants during work.

Oficinas para professores do ensino fundamental foram organizadas com a finalidade de elaborar uma Proposta de Educação Ambiental em uma praça pública no centro histórico da cidade de Botucatu, no estado de São Paulo. Tais oficinas basearam-se em informações sobre o município e informações botânicas da Praça Rubião Júnior, em Botucatu, no âmbito da Educação Ambiental. O resultado foi uma proposta de Educação Ambiental para a praça com a participação efetiva dos professores, em que foi possível resgatar a história da cidade e seus aspectos sócio-econômicos. Foi também demarcada uma trilha ecológica nessa praça utilizando-se as plantas presentes no local, as quais foram previamente identificadas. O trabalho com os professores durante a oficina mostrou-se de fundamental importância para a formação desses profissionais e também estimulou seu interesse a respeito da história local. Essa abordagem, articulada com a diversidade cultural local, enriqueceu a proposta de E. A. e trouxe benefícios para a prática educativa.

Este artigo descreve as interações socioculturalmente estabelecidas entre os moradores do rio Unini, Parque Nacional do Jaú, Amazônia central, com o conjunto da fauna silvestre local. Analisa a diversidade dessas interações e a reprodução das mesmas quando influenciadas por fatores de gênero e geração. Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados foram observação participativa e oficinas de grupos focais. Nessas oficinas, foram produzidas free-listings de animais silvestres relacionados a um determinado habitat. O grau de similaridade e dissimilaridade entre as listas foi analisado utilizando-se o Índice de Jaccard, ilustrado em dendrogramas. de maneira geral, as associações mentais entre elementos da fauna, habitat da floresta e nichos ecológicos que expressam as interações socioculturais dos indivíduos com os animais silvestres são bastante similares entre os membros da comunidade. No entanto, os efeitos de geração e de gênero são perceptíveis. A reprodução dessas interações perpassa pela questão do habitus, que estrutura o processo de socialização das interações culturais com a fauna local.

O presente estudo é uma reflexão crítica sobre um estágio realizado para pensar o dispositivo Oficina na Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS), levantando, a partir da teoria psicanalítica lacaniana, questões que permitiram desenvolver um trabalho sobre o laço social de Lacan para refletir a posição de estagiários e usuários dentro da oficina e problematizar a melhor maneira de trabalhar quando tratamos de sujeitos constituídos pela foraclusão. A forma de trabalhar o sofrimento mental também é discutida a partir da clínica ampliada, que coloca a doença entre parênteses para enxergar o sujeito. A criação de uma oficina, destinada a sujeitos constituídos pela foraclusão, trabalha com a hipótese de reestruturação psíquica através da criação artística. Funcionaria como delírio para a saída do desmoronamento foraclusivo e na diminuição do gozoOutro. Considera-se a dimensão da enunciação, sempre atenta ao surgimento de significantes, com o objetivo de dar maior suporte aos usuários da instituição. O Dispositivo Oficina seria o lugar onde se realizaria esta importante forma de subjetivação.

This paper aims at describing an educational system for teaching and learning robotic systems. Multimedia resources were used to construct a virtual laboratory where users are able to use functionalities of a virtual robotic arm, by moving and clicking the mouse without caring about the detailed internal robot operation. Moreover through the multimedia system the user can interact with a real robot arm. The engineering students are the target public of the developed system. With its contents and interactive capabilities, it has been used as a support to the traditional face-to-face classes on the subject of robotics.. In the paper it is first introduced the metaphor of Virtual Laboratory used in the system. Next, it is described the Graphical and Multimedia Environment approach: an interactive graphic user interface with a 3D environment for simulation. Design and implementation issues of the real-time interactive multimedia learning system, which supports the W3C SMIL standard for presenting the real-time multimedia teaching material, are described. Finally, some preliminary conclusions and possible future works from this research are presented.

Workshops are an important part of the IFPA annual meeting. At IFPA Meeting 2010 there were twelve themed workshops, six of which are summarized in this report 1. The immunology workshop focused on normal and pathological functions of the maternal immune system in pregnancy. 2. The transport workshop dealt with regulation of ion and water transport across the syncytiotrophoblast of human placenta. 3. The epigenetics workshop covered DNA methylation and its potential role in regulating gene expression in placental development and disease. 4. The vascular reactivity workshop concentrated on methodological approaches used to study placental vascular function. 5. The workshop on epitheliochorial placentation covered current advances from in vivo and in vitro studies of different domestic species. 6. The proteomics workshop focused on a variety of techniques and procedures necessary for proteomic analysis and how they may be implemented for placental research. SAOZ (Systeme d'Analyse par Observations Zenithales) is a ground-based UV-Visible zenith-sky spectrometer installed between 1988 and 1995 at a number of NDSC stations at various latitudes on the globe. The instrument is providing ozone and NO2 vertical columns at sunrise and sunset using the Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) technique in the visible spectral range. The ERS-2 GOME Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME) in 1995 was the first satellite mission to provide a global picture of atmospheric NO 2 with reasonable spatial and temporal resolution. It was then followed by SCanning ImAging spectroMeter for Atmospheric ChartographY (SCIAMACHY) onboard ENVISAT in 2002, and Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) onboard EOS-AURA in 2004, with a similar capacity to monitor total NO 2. All these instruments are nadir viewing mapping spectrometers, applying the DOAS technique in the visible for deriving the NO2 total column. Here we present the results of NO2 long-term comparisons between GOME and SAOZ for the whole period of GOME operation since 1995 at all latitudes - tropics, mid-latitudes and polar regions - in both hemispheres. Comparisons are also shown with the most recently available SCIAMACHY and OMI data in 2004-2005. Overall, the daytime satellite measurements (around noon) are found consistent with sunrise ground-based data, with an average smaller difference at the tropics and mid-latitudes than in the polar areas in the summer. The agreement is even improved after correcting for the NO2 photochemical change between sunrise and the satellite overpass using a box model. However, some seasonal dependence of the difference between ground-based and satellite total NO2 still remains, related to the accuracy of photochemical simulations and the set of NO2 air mass factors used in the retrievals of both systems.

Within the next decade, the improved version 2 of Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME-2), a ultraviolet-visible spectrometer dedicated to the observation of key atmospheric trace species from space, will be launched successively on board three EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS) MetOp satellites. Starting with the launch of MetOp-1 scheduled for summer 2006, the GOME-2 series will extend till 2020 the global monitoring of atmospheric composition pioneered with ERS-2 GOME-1 since 1995 and enhanced with Envisat SCIAMACHY since 2002 and EOS-Aura OMI since 2004. For more than a decade, an international pool of scientific teams active in ground-and space-based ultraviolet-visible remote sensing have contributed to the successful post-launch validation of trace gas data products and the associated maturation of retrieval algorithms for the latter satellites, ensuring that geophysical data products are/become reliable and accurate enough for intended research and applications. Building on this experience, this consortium plans now to develop and carry out appropriate validation of a list of GOME-2 trace gas column data of both tropospheric and stratospheric relevance: nitrogen dioxide (NO 2), ozone (O 3), bromine monoxide (BrO), chlorine dioxide (OClO), formaldehyde (HCHO), and sulphur dioxide (SO 2). The proposed investigation will combine four complementary approaches resulting in an end-to-end validation of expected column data products.

We compute the analytical solutions of the generalized relativistic harmonic oscillator in 1+1 dimensions, including a linear pseudoscalar potential and quadratic scalar and vector potentials which have equal or opposite signs These are the conditions in which pseudospin or spin symmetries can be realized We consider positive and negative quadratic potentials and present their bound-state solutions for fermions and an-tifermions. We relate the spin-type and pseudospin-type spectra through charge conjugation and γ5 chiral transformations. Finally, we establish a relation of the solutions found with single-particle states of nuclei described by relativistic mean-field theories with tensor interactions and discuss the conditions in which one may have both nucleon and antin-ucleon bound states.

Web service-based application is an architectural style, where a collection of Web services communicates to each other to execute processes. With the popularity increase of developing Web service-based application and once Web services may change, in terms of functional and non-functional Quality of Service (QoS), we need mechanisms to monitor, diagnose, and repair Web services into a Web Application. This work presents a description of self-healing architecture that deals with these mechanisms. Other contributions of this paper are using the proxy server to measure Web service QoS values and to employ some strategies to recovery the effects from misbehaved Web services. © 2008 IEEE.

The advantages of networking are widely known in many areas (from business to personal ones). One particular area where networks have also proved their benefits is education. Taking the secondary school education level into account, some successful cases can be found in literature. In this paper we describe a particular remote lab network supporting physical experiments accessible to students of institutions geographically separated. The network architecture and application examples of using some of the available remote experiments are illustrated in detail. ©2008 IEEE.
