A importância da inteligência emocional na gestão de recursos humanos é um dos paradigmas deste século, sendo consensualmente aceite que formação é o caminho para melhorar esta competência nas organizações. Conceitos como a Inteligência Emocional, tal como inicialmente definido por Salovey e Mayer, as teorias de Gardner, Damásio e outros autores, o desenvolvimento pragmático de Goleman a nível social e organizacional, outros conceitos como a liderança e trabalho em equipa, constituem a revisão da literatura para esta investigação. Estes conceitos foram relacionados com formações específicas e carreiras profissionais nas organizações aeronáuticas. O objetivo geral deste trabalho foi estabelecer a relação entre as carreiras operacionais e sua formação em trabalho em equipa, nomeadamente CRM (Crew Resource Management) e TRM (Team Resource Management), e as competências emocionais. Especificamente, para o estudo empírico, do universo de profissionais da aviação em Portugal Continental, nas Regiões Autónomas da Madeira e dos Acores, foi constituída uma amostra de 435 indivíduos de ambos os sexos. Foi aplicado um inquérito composto por uma componente sócio demográfica, um questionário para medir níveis perceção da influência das emoções nos desempenhos funcionais, e outra componente de dois questionários para a medição dos níveis do quociente e inteligência emocional e consciência emocional que permitiram a determinação de perfis da competência emocional das carreiras aeronáuticas e a obtenção de respostas às hipóteses operacionais deste estudo. Como conclusão, foi assumido que estes profissionais têm um bom nível de perceção da influência das emoções na sua atividade profissional, um nível médio alto de quociente e de literacia emocional. As diferentes carreiras profissionais e as formações CRM/TRM evidenciam níveis superiores das suas competências emocionais.

Este é um relatório submetido como requisito parcial, para obtenção de grau de mestre em Engenharia Informática pela universidade da Madeira, em parceria com o Miti (Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute) e teve como base, o desenvolvimento de uma aplicação para equipamentos móveis com sistema operativo android. O objetivo principal foi, criar uma aplicação alternativa aos atuais sistemas existentes, para gestão e controlo de inspeções de segurança, efetuadas por funcionários de empresas de segurança privada (vigilantes) a instalações de clientes, atividade denominada por rondas. O principal problema encontrado e para o qual pretendia ser encontrada uma solução, não foi a falta de um sistema deste tipo, pois existem vários no mercado, mas sim, o elevado custo de aquisição dos atuais sistemas, aliado ao facto das suas limitações em termos de funcionalidades disponibilizadas tendo em conta esse elevado custo, e ainda a utilização de um equipamento dedicado e limitado exclusivamente a essa função. Conseguiu ser encontrada uma alternativa viável, versátil e prática, que para além de ser mais users friendly (termo utilizado para aplicações desenvolvidas tendo como foco o seu utilizador), disponibiliza aos seus utilizadores uma variedade de novas funcionalidades. Trata-se de uma alternativa muito mais económica mas igualmente eficaz, cumprindo assim o seu objetivo principal. Dadas as restrições temporais para o desenvolvimento deste projeto, são dadas no final deste documento, algumas ideias para uma possível evolução deste sistema, no sentido de o tornar ainda mais inovador.

Ao longo da sua existência as instituições museológicas foram evoluindo em termos estruturais e culturais e repensando as suas políticas, adaptando-as aos novos tempos. O Museu é agora encarado como um espaço activo, dinâmico e atractivo onde as colecções já não são o único objectivo e a pessoa assume um papel central. Procurando sintonizar-se com as necessidades e exigências das comunidades que pretendem servir, os museus começaram a utilizar o marketing como forma de proporcionar aos seus visitantes um conjunto de benefícios capazes de satisfazer ou melhorar a sua experiência de visita. Efectivamente o sucesso dos museus depende hoje do tipo de produto oferecido ao cliente, dos serviços, da acessibilidade, da comunicação e do entretenimento, além do carácter educativo, tornando-se por isso necessário oferecer um leque mais alargado de serviços, para ir ao encontro de um mercado cada vez mais exigente. A combinação da actividade principal do museu com a oferta de serviços complementares, como as lojas, desempenha um papel fulcral na obtenção de visitas satisfatórias. As lojas de museu são actualmente consideradas como uma política incontornável de valorização e divulgação dos museus, constituindo igualmente uma fonte de financiamento com crescente importância. O propósito deste trabalho, visa o estudo das lojas dos museus da Região Autónoma da Madeira, perceber a sua importância na divulgação dos museus e do património regional e propor melhorias ao seu funcionamento, para que as lojas dos museus locais vejam desenvolvidas todas as suas potencialidades em termos de comunicação e maximização de receitas.

Os hábitos de leitura devem ser criados e fortalecidos desde a primeira infância. Acreditamos que estes continuam a ser significativos para o desenvolvimento intelectual, social, cultural e emocional de todas as crianças e devem ser estimulados pelos vários mediadores de leitura, seja em contexto escolar ou não escolar. Para além da escola, a família também tem um papel fulcral no incentivo e fomentação destes hábitos. No entanto, nem sempre todos podem contar com este apoio. Exemplo disso são as crianças institucionalizadas que, por vários motivos, estão afastadas do seu contexto familiar. Em alguns casos, as instituições de acolhimento são os principais agentes de socialização destas crianças e transmissores de educação, competências e valores. Deste modo, é nosso propósito refletir sobre o papel das instituições na criação e promoção de hábitos de leitura. Assim, convictos da importância que esta prática cultural pode representar para esta população, realizámos um estudo de caso que teve como objetivos principais aferir os hábitos de leitura das crianças acolhidas e implementar um projeto de promoção de leitura. Este estudo foi realizado no Abrigo infantil da Nossa Senhora da Conceição e na Fundação Patronato de São Filipe, da Região Autónoma da Madeira e contou com a participação de doze crianças, em processo de promoção e proteção, com idades compreendidas entre os oito e os doze anos. Tratando-se de uma abordagem qualitativa, recorremos à observação participante, a entrevistas e questionários como fontes de recolha de dados. A análise dos resultados obtidos permitiu-nos constatar que estas crianças possuem hábitos reduzidos de leitura. Verificámos, no entanto, que a participação em atividades de promoção da leitura infantil, torna as crianças mais motivadas para desenvolverem esta prática.

This survey has to general objective to evaluate the Food Safety Policy implemented by Restaurantes Populares do Rio Grande do Norte. The survey is qualitative of type exploratory and descriptive. The universe of survey is all Units of Food and Nutrition (UAN) of the Restaurantes Populares do Rio Grande do Norte. To collects of data were used two instruments: interview and form. The interviews were intended to analyze the four axes of the Food Safety: access, food quality, production and marketing of food and organizational arrangement. The form was used to check the quality of nutrition and sanitary-hygienic food served. We used two types of forms: a spreadsheet with the weekly menu and the portions served to verify that the meals serve the nutritional needs proposed by the program; and the check-list of ANVISA to verify the sanitary-hygienic conditions in each unit. Through the survey data and analyses made observe that the access category have some problems such as lack of registration, lack of advertising of Restaurants and wastage of public resources, making policy that should be of included in a policy of exclusion. In the nutritional aspect there is neglect on the daily nutritional goal, because it is not accomplished nutritional analysis of menu offered, the nutritionists do not know what should be the nutritional value of meals served; in the hygienic-health aspect trough the problems identified is concludes that there is no guarantee of food quality hygienic-sanitary, committing the program as a Food Safety Program. About the production and marketing of food is observed some problems as: the goal of sale of meals is not achieved in full, the purchase of genres does not stimulate the local economy, nor generates jobs and income, and inefficient performance of the MEIOS's supervision. In the analysis of organizational arrangement is concluded that the partnerships are beneficial, despite some negative points, therefore, are these partnerships the problems of non-compliance, as both the MEIOS and Nutriti of important criteria established in the partnership. Therefore, it is understood that the Programa Restaurantes Populares in its original formulation is proposed to be a food safety policy, but has some problems that impossible to meet its goal, making it unprofitable like Food Safety Policy

The present study regards an applied social research (qualitative) performed in two institutions which lead children s cancer treatment in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The main goal of this study is, as of a literature review at works which characterizes the first generations of study about substantive rationality, to detect Decision Making process related aspects that may serve as a basis to elaborate analysis categories from decision making process, aggregating them into a new study that may provide an advance to the theme in administrative science. The academic works based on the analysis model created by Mauricio Serva served as a basis to deep research into such theme, which verifies the predominant rationality in eleven administrative internal processes in productive organizations. This dissertation intends to go beyond the identification of the predominant rationality by elaborating new categories of analysis, and making possible the continuity of the subject in administrative science. Based on Guerreiro Ramos s work, which sees a kind of ideal organization, as known as isonomies, this study still calls upon Karl Polanyi s thoughts, which with the objective of comprehending the independent economic phenomenon of the value that allows considering non-market economies, find that the economy of the men is submerged in his social relations; it also rescues the studies from Max Weber who investigates the meaning of social action to better understand the rationality, and refers to the study of Jürgen Habermas, who proposes a broader conception about rationality, within the theory of communicative action. As a result of this theme s review, seven analysis categories of the decision making process have been formulated. They were applied in the institutions that had been chosen and helped to detect the type of predominant rationality in the categories of the decision making process. The results confirm that, although the decisions making process involves rational elements, such as information, identification of alternatives, there are also specific values of each individual with his experience and view oh the world, permeated not only by instrumental rationality, but also by substantive rationality. The study has verified that two similar institutions may show different types of rationality in the decision making process, when decision factors may tend to instrumental rationality, according to administration classic way, as well as they may emerge from substantive rationality, thus contributing to the process of emancipation of the human being in his sphere of work

This study examines the factors that influence public managers in the adoption of advanced practices related to Information Security Management. This research used, as the basis of assertions, Security Standard ISO 27001:2005 and theoretical model based on TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) from Venkatesh and Davis (2000). The method adopted was field research of national scope with participation of eighty public administrators from states of Brazil, all of them managers and planners of state governments. The approach was quantitative and research methods were descriptive statistics, factor analysis and multiple linear regression for data analysis. The survey results showed correlation between the constructs of the TAM model (ease of use, perceptions of value, attitude and intention to use) and agreement with the assertions made in accordance with ISO 27001, showing that these factors influence the managers in adoption of such practices. On the other independent variables of the model (organizational profile, demographic profile and managers behavior) no significant correlation was identified with the assertions of the same standard, witch means the need for expansion researches using such constructs. It is hoped that this study may contribute positively to the progress on discussions about Information Security Management, Adoption of Safety Standards and Technology Acceptance Model

This research aimed at relating coordination and control forms to organizational performance. The multicase study was applied in two public high schools: Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica do Rio Grande do Norte and Floriano Cavalcanti. In order to accomplish these objectives, it was developed a qualitative analysis and considered coordination and control forms of several authors. Also was considered Sander´s (1984) model of organizational performance. The mentioned model considers two criteria to analyze organizational performance: one instrumental (efficiency and efficacy) and other substantive (effectiveness e relevance). The research attempts to show the importance of balancing these criteria in a way that effectiveness and relevance becomes more important at schools. It was proven that the use of bureaucratic coordination forms has the power to influence the evaluation on the instrumental technique. At the same time, it was observed that the use of mechanisms based on the autonomy of the school is related to efficiency and efficacy. The object of this research can be considered successful

The evaluation of public policies that promote Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) it s a multidisciplinary activity extremely relevant to the effectiveness of actions to legitimize the Human Right to Adequate Food (HRAF). This study aimed at assessing the effectiveness of the unit project Natal-RN Café do Trabalhador in promoting SAN to its users. The theoretical framework is based on the public and political and on the dimensions of the concept of FSN (quantity and quality-regularity). Through a qualitative approach, methodologically this was the work of an evaluation of efficiency of the unit Natal-RN of Café do Trabalhador project in light of the assumptions of the concept of SAN. Data collection was conducted through retrospective archival research in official documents of the project, semi-structured interviews with managers involved in its implementation (representative of the Secretary of State for Employment, Housing and Care of RN SETHAS and third party), socioeconomic questionnaire applied to the users of the unit, check the amount, regularity and quality of meals offered for 15 days (menu routine) using the descriptive form menu and form filling type checklist for verification of compliance with good practices . Methods of analysis, we used content analysis, descriptive statistics and compared to previously established parameters for the project. As categories of analysis were defined organizational arrangement, access, user, food quantity-regularity and food quality. The results show that, it was found in the category arrangement that will implement the project dismissed technical criteria for choosing the districts and the quantitative distribution of meals for each location. It was found that the valuation of the shares of the company outsources technical SETHA has not been performed. We observed in the access category, the unit has a strategic location, but lack of space in the refectory. The main obstacle to economic access for users is the lack of a register for the beneficiaries. In the category of users, it was identified that the clientele of the project it is predominantly men, with more than 51 years, low education, earning wages less 1 obtained through informal employment, which they move up through the unit transport collective, go to all days of operation due primarily to price. About the meals category quantity-regularity of food showed that the menu serves 95% of the desired needs, and that holidays and weekends are periods of disrupting the regularity of supply of meals. Regarding the category of food quality, it was found that the nutritional aspect on the menu are food sources rich in sodium, nitrates and low in fiber. In the aspect of hygiene and sanitation are the main limitations related to waste management, lack of exposure controls of food prepared and inadequacies of the physical structure. The results showed that in general and the institutional arrangement of the organs attached to the project should establish a systematic evaluation project is to establish as a promoter of and FSN overcome these obstacles

Due to the appreciation of family farming by the Brazilian Federal Government, the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension was induced to restructure and act in a more participative way, culminating in the National Policy of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (PNATER), changing the profile of technology transfer and knowledge (diffusionism) for an action that uses participatory methodologies focused on exchange of knowledge between farmers and technicians. The process of discussion of the trends of ATER brought the New ATER , with the recognition of agroecology as the main guidance. This research aimed to analyze methods of public ATER developed by institutions of Rio Grande do Norte, under the guidance of New ATER. The research is qualitative. Secondary data were collected through documental research and literature. Primary data were collected through a set of interviews applied to representatives of public institutions ATER, namely EMATER-RN, Diaconia and AACC and representatives of organizations that receive public ATER. The research showed the difficulties of EMATER-RN in implementing of New ATER due to lack of infrastructure and low adherence of the new form of technical assistance and rural extension. It was shown also that the AACC and Diaconia act with ATER through projects with implementation deadlines set, often interrupting ATER while communities are still in need of assistance

The research aimed to understand the challenges for the implementation of the proposed integration between the Civil Police and the Military Police in Rio Grande do Norte to the proposals of the SUSP. This study aimed to explore the gap with regard to the deepening of the possible causes that may hinder the implementation of integrated working between the police in public security, through a specific analysis on the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Was based on a theoretical framework that includes policies: general concepts, the steps of a public policy, the implementation stage , public security : conceptual definitions, policies on security in Brazil, the structure of public security in Brazil and systems police, Military Police x Civil Police: Roles and conflicts , integrating public security: the challenges to be overcome, the Unified public Safety (SUSP) and the main difficulties in the integration of the police. Being classified as to the purposes as an exploratory research on how to approach ranks as qualitative. The research unit was the Center for Integrated Operations Public Safety (CIOSP) through three subjects who were the chief CIOSP, the representative of the military police acting with the CIOSP, and representative civil police also active with the CIOSP. These subjects were chosen because of the understanding that individuals occupying senior positions would have more ability to respond to questions that guide the research problem. Data were collected through a set of interviews, qualitative data analysis was performed based content analysis, based on the definition of categories of analysis, gated time cross. With the results, it was revealed that the main problems of integration between the state police are treatment protocols, lack of political will and lack of infrastructure. The relationship between the Military Police and Civil Police in Rio Grande do Norte has differing cultural aspect, but can be considered as good value, professionalism and integrated operations. The implementation of CIOSP-RN followed the characteristics of the top-down model, the main difficulties in implementing the proposals of the SUSP, lack of own resources, the lack of standardization in public safety and the lack of professional training of public safety. It was concluded that with respect to the challenges to the implementation of the proposed integration between the Civil Police and the Military Police in Rio Grande do Norte to the proposals of the SUSP, the actions follow the characteristics of the top-down model, with no autonomy of administrators public to say in decisions, which restricts the view of the public safety of the state

This study is about the institutional self-evaluation in Dimension 4, "Communication with Society", from the National System of Higher Education Evaluation SINAES, mandatory for all universities in Brazil. A multiple cases study was conducted with three institutions from Rio Grande do Norte, and the goal was to know how this evaluation is made, describing the concept for the evaluation of communication proposed by them, identifying controllers or emancipator aspects, categorizing methodological procedures and discussing the difficulties reported in the communication evaluation process. Coordinators of the institutions Evaluating Committees were interviewed and data categorized by means of qualitative content analysis. It was noted characteristics of the current controller, emancipator and hybrid designs in the three institutions for evaluation of communication, revealing the lack of a theoretical corpus that transits in accordance with the systemic perspective and epistemology of complexity from SINAES. It was found that the most frequently reported difficulties in the evaluation processes of communication are in the preparation stage, especially in the definition of indicators and tools and awareness work. The weakness in planning makes their own activities in the sector of communication become targets of assessment, forming goals poorly related with broader organizational goals. It was also concluded that the technical evaluation cannot override the issues associated with the broader issue of the complexity surrounding the assessment paradigm proposed by SINAES because contradictions and imperfections are part of the evaluation process and several references are current in the literature to support this view. Finally, it is said that objectives such as transparency and behavioral changes can rely on methodologies and techniques for research on the question of the construction of meaning

This dissertation shows a comparison between practices related to the body, to identities and to the health of young drug takers of synthetic and manipulated psychoactive substances living in Fortaleza. Through ethnographic accompaniment of parties and two social nets of young people I was able to verify the differences and similarities that make these addicted singular and plural in their notion of ethos and world vision. Notions of being hippie/alternative and being punk are present between these nets. Because their use and circulation are developed in environments usually distinct, it is possible to trace singular aspects between the nets and its actions. In parallel, on the attempt to build a triangulated data, I had information related to youth and drugs in local media and in governmental institutions bound to health mental and city security policies. With this junction of data I present a perspective to questions evolving formal and informal important controls to the conduction of their lives and identities. I present this as a sequel to well developed studies in Brasil about youth in interface to drug use, although still not very explored in the state of Ceará.

This work supports the formalist education s improvement of the Brazilian architect and urban designer through a better application and systematization of the computer science s teaching potentialities. The research analyzes the discipline introduction in the Brazilian courses: Computer Science Applied to Architecture and Urbanism (InfoAU) in the Architecture and Urbanism Courses of Brazil (CAUs). It goes since the discipline was obligated by the MEC s Regulation nr. 1.770 from 1994 until the CNE/CES Resolution nr. 6 from 2006; it comprehends the discipline implantation, development and current context, in order to get more detailed, the research analyses three federal universities from the Northeast of the country: UFRN, UFPB and UFPE. Once identified the historical educational needs in the CAUs, the study focus on the computer science s increasing potential as an agent of integration, communication, development and knowledge/data management. It points out new social perspectives for a better use of this tool/mechanism, which adequately structuralized and integrated, creates propitious educational and professional performance/recycling conditions and a propeller instrument of research and extension activities. Among this work, it is suggested the aggregation of elements, which are complementary to the InfoAU discipline s reorganization, throughout a computerization s plan for the CAUs, extensive to the professional formation, generating a virtuous cycle in several activities of the academic, administrative and, research and extension s departments. Therefore, the InfoAU in the Brazilian CAUs context was analyzed; the main solutions and problems found were systemized; the possibilities of computer science s uses inside AU ware structuralized, InfoAU discipline s improvement plan was also defined, as well as strategies for the implementation of the computerization s plan for the CAUs, which would guarantee its maintenance in a continuity perspective
