José Mariano da Conceição Velloso, 172?-1811 - Frei Velloso teve duas grandes paixões: a botânica e o desenho, inclusive a gravura e a pintura. Esforça-se para difundir o desenho e a pintura pela sua oficina do Arco do Cego. Trabalha na produção de livros didáticos, num esforço gigantesco, produz obras relacionadas com a agricultura, a mineração, a pecuária e as artes que se podiam obter àquela época. Como relata Borba de Moraes, o esforço fracassou devido ao imenso atraso das elites brasileiras da época. A respeito do Fazendeiro do Brasil, o Governador de São Paulo informou à Corte que não conseguira vender um só exemplar da coleção e que não achava quem os quisesse levar de graça.

Otley College: An Online toolkit for tutorials in rural- based FE – meeting new funding needs

As part of an LSIS Regional Response Fund project, Otley College has developed an online toolkit for one-to-one tutorials, based on research undertaken with practitioners and learners. The toolkit has been developed to meet the needs of students and tutors, and attempts to fulfil the requirement for tutorials within a new straightened funding agreement.

Técnicas de Inteligencia Artificial integradas en una aplicación de gestión para una casa rural en JQueryMobile y Protégé Frames.

Este proyecto plantea el reto de realizar una aplicación web para la gestión y control de una casa rural desde dispositivos móviles como smartphones y tabletas, con una interfaz de propietario para gestionar de manera dinámica las diferentes partes de la misma, así como la inclusión de una zona de niños donde se aplicarán tecnologías de Inteligencia Artificial en concreto representación del conocimiento mediante “frames”, donde se permitirá a los usuarios realizar preguntas al sistema para intentar adivinar un árbol que previamente la propietaria de la casa rural habrá establecido. El objetivo no es elaborar un sistema experto, tarea que requeriría muchas más horas que las que corresponden a un proyecto de fin de carrera, sino comprobar la posibilidad de integración de estas herramientas en una aplicación orientada a dispositivos móviles. Se emplearán las funcionalidades de HTML5 para la inclusión de la “zona explorador” donde los niños podrán geo localizar árboles, así como su posterior búsqueda a modo de GPS donde los usuarios podrán ver donde está situado el árbol que desean buscar y su posición actual, la cual se irá actualizando automáticamente.

This is the report of the “Yunnan DOA/NACA-STREAM/FAO Workshop on Livelihoods Approaches and Analysis” that was conducted in Mengzi, Yunnan from 6-10 September 2004. The purpose of the workshop was to develop and document mechanisms for training in livelihoods approaches and analysis, and to build national capacity to conduct livelihoods analysis. The workshop in Yunnan was the first STREAM event in China, with colleagues coming to participate from throughout the province. It was the fifth workshop in a series, the first of which was held in Iloilo City, Philippines, in November 2003, the second in Ranchi, India, in February 2004, third in Vientiane, Lao PDR, in March 2004 and the fourth in Yangon, Myanmar, in May 2004. Since 1991, the certification, release and maintenance of new species for aquaculture have become part of the national policy in China. During the past 15 years, this policy has been conducted and improved and has begun to show its significant role in Chinese fisheries. El aprovechamiento del medio rural para llevar acabo actividades turísticas no es algo nuevo en España. Sin embargo, no es hasta mediados de los 80 cuando el turismo rural empieza a tener un desarrollo mayor, apreciándose un crecimiento de la oferta, a medida que lo hacía la demanda. Este trabajo se circunscribe a este área y pretende determinar bajo qué circunstancias debe desarrollarse la gestión del marketing en este tipo turismo y establecer en qué medida sus peculiares características influyen en las actuaciones de las empresas en el ámbito rural.
