Presentation at Open Repositories 2014, Helsinki, Finland, June 9-13, 2014 General Track, 24x7 Presentations The session was recorded and is available for watching (this presentation starts at 0:16:06) Varied and abundant data has been collected and produced via research activities funded by a national budget for R&D,. In order to establish a suitable environment to manage and reproduce these research data, regulatory approval and policies, along with data repositories and physical data storage and systematic management processes are required. Meanwhile, a 4th generation research paradigm, which focuses on data mining and the increased possibility for solving global issues using interdisciplinary and converged studies has been developing. These converged studies are mostly based on different types of data. Therefore, in order to promote nationally acknowledged convergence research, the status of data distribution needs to be monitored in real time, followed by policy making for active support in the major fields of study. In this study, the status of data repositories in three countries is reviewed in real time. Additionally, a platform that can draw out the topics requiring more support from the data repositories is assessed. |
