O presente trabalho de memória é o resultado de meses de pesquisas bibliográficas e documentais, relacionado com o tema Avaliação de Desempenho nas organizações: estudo de caso Banco Comercial do Atlântico, propõe analisar o grau de satisfação dos trabalhadores do Banco Comercial do Atlântico com a actual avaliação de desempenho existente. Para esse efeito, fez-se uma análise dos instrumentos utilizados e as principais causas da sua insatisfação. Este estudo foi baseado numa pesquisa exploratória mediante o uso de um questionário, entre 13 a 17 de Agosto de 2007, com cerca de 60 trabalhadores. Dos resultados recolhidos podemos constatar que a maioria dos trabalhadores consideram poucos informados sobre o modelo utilizado na empresa para avaliar para avaliar os trabalhadores o que gere por parte dos trabalhadores pouco conhecimento dos instrumentos e criando insatisfação face ao mesmo.

Neste estudo pretendeu-se estimar um indicador do hiato da produção agrícola em Angola, Brasil, Moçambique e Portugal no período de 1961 a 1999. Para tanto foi utilizado a abordagem não-paramétrica de análise envoltória de dados para calcular indicadores de eficiência e do hiato da produção agricola. A agricultura é um sector económico essencial na maioria dos países do mundo. O desempenho da agricultura é fundamental na determinação da segurança alimentar, redução do exodo rural, entrada de divisas através da exportação, geração de emprego e de certa forma tem um papel importante na determinação da taxa de inflação. Os resultados indicaram que os países apresentaram um comportamento diferente em termos da eficiencia produtiva e do hiato da produção agricola. O problema da eficiencia e do hiato se verifica com maior gravidade nos paises menos desenvolvidos, geralmente agravados com problemas de insegurança alimentar e dependencia de exportação de produtos agricolas.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the public health consequences of the rise in multiple births with respect to congenital anomalies. DESIGN: Descriptive epidemiological analysis of data from population-based congenital anomaly registries. SETTING: Fourteen European countries. POPULATION: A total of 5.4 million births 1984-2007, of which 3% were multiple births. METHODS: Cases of congenital anomaly included live births, fetal deaths from 20 weeks of gestation and terminations of pregnancy for fetal anomaly. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Prevalence rates per 10,000 births and relative risk of congenital anomaly in multiple versus singleton births (1984-2007); proportion prenatally diagnosed, proportion by pregnancy outcome (2000-07). Proportion of pairs where both co-twins were cases. RESULTS: Prevalence of congenital anomalies from multiple births increased from 5.9 (1984-87) to 10.7 per 10,000 births (2004-07). Relative risk of nonchromosomal anomaly in multiple births was 1.35 (95% CI 1.31-1.39), increasing over time, and of chromosomal anomalies was 0.72 (95% CI 0.65-0.80), decreasing over time. In 11.4% of affected twin pairs both babies had congenital anomalies (2000-07). The prenatal diagnosis rate was similar for multiple and singleton pregnancies. Cases from multiple pregnancies were less likely to be terminations of pregnancy for fetal anomaly, odds ratio 0.41 (95% CI 0.35-0.48) and more likely to be stillbirths and neonatal deaths. CONCLUSIONS: The increase in babies who are both from a multiple pregnancy and affected by a congenital anomaly has implications for prenatal and postnatal service provision. The contribution of assisted reproductive technologies to the increase in risk needs further research. The deficit of chromosomal anomalies among multiple births has relevance for prenatal risk counselling.

The State of Iowa and the Hiring Practices Working Group commissioned this review of the State’s hiring practices in response to recent concerns about these practices involving racial discrimination claims against the Departments of Human Services, Transportation, and Iowa Workforce Development. The State of Iowa should be commended for undertaking this review. The State has a longstanding Affirmative Action Program and commitment to diversity – they instituted their Affirmative Action Program in 1973, and continue their commitment to its success by making the changes necessary to ensure the program is viable and sustainable. Iowa Department of Administrative Services In July 2003, the State created the Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) as a way to manage and coordinate the major resources of state government. DAS provides human resource services through an entrepreneurial management model. Entrepreneurial management is a customer-focused approach to delivering services. The customer departments have input about what services and products they want from DAS and in turn DAS is funded by the customer departments through purchases of DAS services and products. DAS looks to offer new and additional services (for example recruitment support and coordination) to various customers on a fee-for-service basis. A customer council is charged with approving the DAS business plan, establishing the rate for services, and reviewing service delivery and complaints. Under this entrepreneurial model, human resource services are provided by DAS-HRE (Human Resources Enterprise) central staff, 12 DAS-HRE Personnel Officers located at the customer departments, and customer agency staff. The majority of the recruitment and hiring functions are done by the customer (hiring) departments and their staff. Applications for employment are submitted using the BrassRing system with applicants being qualified by DAS-HRE employees. Since the creation of Human Resources Enterprise, DAS-HRE has strived to provide human resource tools to the departments. The Screening Manual and the Supervisor’s Manual are just two examples of the resources created for the hiring departments. They also provide Supervisor Training for newly appointed supervisors. Larger departments have dedicated staff assigned to human resource activities. The staff at the departmental level may or may not have a human resources background. Iowa Population and Workforce The 2000 U.S. Census indicated that Iowa’s population was 2,926,324. According to this census, 92.6 percent of Iowa’s population identified their race as white (alone). The nonwhite alone or minority population (including Black or African American, Asian, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, two or more races, or some other race) was 7.4 percent.

Se realizó un análisis biológico pesquero del recurso lorna (Sciaena deliciosa) en el Puerto de Huacho durante el periodo 2000-2011. Este recurso se encuentra sometido a una fuerte presión de pesca y actualmente son pocas las investigaciones dirigidas a conocer su situación biológica-pesquera. En el análisis biológico, se evaluó la disminución significativa de la talla media a través del tiempo mediante un análisis de regresión lineal; asimismo, se calculo la relación longitud-peso mediante una regresión potencial. Se analizaron el factor de condición (Angelescu et al., 1987) e índice gonadosomático (Vazzoler, 1982) para determinar el período de desove. Se determinó la talla de primera madurez (TPM) a través de una curva logística y los parámetros de crecimiento se estimaron a partir del análisis de frecuencias de tallas. Se obtuvo un crecimiento cercano al isométrico del pez y una disminución significativa de la talla media entre el 2007-2011. La TPM se alcanza a los 15.5 cm., a la edad de un año y su época reproductiva se da con mayor intensidad entre los meses de verano-otoño mientras que en la primavera se observa un pico reproductivo con menor intensidad. Como parte del análisis pesquero, se analizó el desembarque, esfuerzo pesquero y captura por unidad de esfuerzo (CPUE); así como el porcentaje de ejemplares juveniles capturados en base a la talla mínima de captura (TMC). Además, se empleó el modelo de producción excedente de Schaefer (1954) y Fox (1970) y las fórmulas empíricas de Froese y Binohlan (2000) para determinar la sobreexplotación del recurso. Se observa una captura zonificada del recurso entre Vegueta (11°1.9’S) y Carquín (11°5.2’S); con decrecimiento en las capturas, aumento del esfuerzo pesquero y una disminución de la CPUE durante los últimos años del período evaluado. Los desembarques registraron un 90.2 por ciento de incidencia de ejemplares juveniles en las capturas y el recurso presenta una sobre explotación por crecimiento y reclutamiento.

El estudio se realizó en octubre 2007, en el banco natural Meca-Las Lozas al norte de la Región Tacna. La longitud peristomal de C. concholepas varió de 27 a 109 mm, promedio 53,96 mm y moda principal 54 mm; 98,8% de los ejemplares menores a la talla comercial; proporción sexual de 1,0♂♂:1,1♀♀; IGS de 1,53%. Población estimada en 4.821.922 individuos; con densidad media de 4 ind/m2. Biomasa total estimada en 254,1 t, biomasa media de 0,218 kg/m². La macrofauna bentónica de invertebrados asociados al chanque incluyó 69 taxa de 11 phyla. La diversidad varió entre 1,78 y 2,58 bits/ind., el índice de predominio varió entre 0,54 a 0,78.
