A inclusão de temas ambientais nos cursos de Ciências Biológicas de universidades públicas paulistas

Environmental education (EE) is considered an essential component in individual education and requires prepared professionals to deal with the issues it covers. Teacher’s education courses should include the environmental dimension in their curriculum. Nevertheless, studies show that the EE in degrees occurs in an incipient way. This research aimed to analyze the inclusion of environmental issues in Biological Science teacher formation courses, at public universities in São Paulo. We analyzed the summaries of the disciplines in the curriculum of the courses in relation to the number of threads that refer to environmental issues. We found that the courses analyzed include the environmental dimension in the summaries of some disciplines, but in most of them, in an insignificant way. We also found that, in most cases, the disciplines are restricted to ecological aspects of environmental issues. We conclude that the investigated courses do not meet the recommendations of the legislation as regards the inclusion of the environmental dimension in the curriculum of teacher’s education.

The current National Curricular Guidelines sets as parameters for Education’s programs the teaching and professional training in order to allow the realization of activities of school tutoring (management) and educational research. Our objective was to analyze educators’ attributions since 1930. For that, we made an analysis of the main laws that guided the activities of these professionals. We tried to demonstrate how the educator became from an “old” school teacher (1854-1880) to a primary education professor (end of XIX and XX centuries) and, nowadays, in a “make it all” in schools and in the administrative tasks into the schools. We hope, with this analysis, to contribute to the definition of attributions of the educator in current days and to offer subsidies for a better thinking of the process to students of Education in Brasil, helping in the tutoring of those future professionals.

The present study represents a qualitative thesis, characterized as a case study, which uses the method of the present approach. In addressing the academic home in physical education, there is the constancy of the discussions regarding the curriculum and professional formatting. In view of the curriculum modifications to fit the new legislation, and the fact they are few studies related to private institutions that offer such courses, which offer even greater number of courses when compared to public institutions aimed to investigate and analyze the professional profiles, curricular goals and flows contained in the pedagogical projects of courses bachelor degree in physical education and a private institution of higher education of the State of São Paulo, as well as verifying the existence and adequacy of articulation to the institutional educational project and the institutional development plan. Compounding the literature review discussed the key historical facts relating to courses in physical education in our country, and its path to the current model. Also presented was the law of physical education courses in force in Brazil and some concepts about teaching course projects and their relationship to other institutional documents. Techniques were used to review and document analysis, with primary source documents of their own and other government institution. It found a lack of interest of some private institutions of higher education in official documents available for this type of research, which is bad since there are more courses offered by them compared to public institutions. As for the degree course for training teachers of physical education, found lack of specificity regarding the differentiation between content and the bachelor, which ends up deviating from the expectations contained in the course to the one presented in the curriculum. As diretrizes curriculares para os cursos de Educação Física no Brasil: uma breve revisão cronológica e análise desse processo sobre as implicações para a formação profissional

The law of Guidelines and Bases for National Education-LDB established the need to ensure at Universities a greater flexibility in the Organization of courses and careers, taking into account the heterogeneity of prior education and training, as well as the expectations and interests of students. Since the deployment of the first courses of Physical Education in Brazil, in the 30 's decade, the formation was only in Degree Course. On a pioneer way, resolution CFE 031987 allowed the Universities could organise their own pedagogical projects and curriculum, allowing even the Bachelor Course contemplating the dynamics of the evolution of the area and encouraging a change in attitudes of professionals. The Bachelor Course, with an offer of disciplines to other areas higher than education, openness also allowed to research, promoting an increasing interaction of the Physical Education with other professions od health. Physical education stands out as interareas instrument in the promotion of health and quality of life of the population. With the regulation of the Profession through the law No. 9696/98, grows the discussion around the definition of professional delimitations in this close relationship with other areas. With the need for a reformulation in teaching projects, Degree and Bachelor Courses, express the new curricular guidelines and resolutions of the MEC, as well as the professional delimitations by CONFEF for each formation. Given these aspects, the objective of the present study was to describe the chronology of such facts and a expose a critical opinion of the authors about the course and consequences of this process.

The objective of this descriptive research was to investigate the perception of health care professionals who work in Pediatric Intensive Care Units in relation to the process of death and dying. The study was undertaken between June and August 2011, with data collected through structured interviews and subjected to statistical analysis. Of the 25 participants, 72% perceived death as a natural process of life, 60% felt compassion – a feeling that did not interfere in caring for the patient, 52% related that they had not received any preparation about the process of death or dying and 76% showed interest in taking a refresher course on the issue. Greater discussion is necessary about academic training, and the offer of educational activities and space for exchanging experiences, such that the workers may better understand and deal with feelings and limitations regarding death.
