Biology and Management of Sablefish, Anoplopoma fimbria: Papers from the International Symposium on the Biology and Management of Sablefish, Seattle, Washington, 13-15 April 1993

At its june 1990 annual meeting, the Technical Subcommittee (TSC) of the Canada-U.S. Groundfish Committee recommended that scientists and managers working on sablefish, Anoplopoma fimbria, issues convene to present and discuss the results of their recent research. Thorough knowledge of the biology and population dynamics of this species is essential for its effective management, especially considering its commercial importance. TSC representatives from both countries recognized that a great deal ofactive research has been conducted on this species since the International Sablefish Symposium was held in Anchorage, Alaska, in March 1983 (Melteff, 1983). As a result of this recommendation, the International Symposium on the Biology and Management of Sablefish (ISBMS) was convened April 13-15, 1993, at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center in Seattle, Washington. Ecology of Juvenile Walleye Pollock, Theragra chalcogramma: Papers from the workshop "The Importance of Prerecruit Walleye Pollock to the Bering Sea and North Pacific Ecosystems" Seattle, Washington, 28-30 October 1993

The Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), hosted an international workshop, 'The Importance of Prerecruit Walleye Pollock to the Bering Sea and North Pacific Ecosystems," from 28 to 30 October 1993. This workshop was held in conjunction with the annual International North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES) meeting held in Seattle. Nearly 100 representatives from government agencies, universities, and the fishing industry in Canada, Japan, the People's Republic of China, Russia, and the United States took part in the workshop to review and discuss current knowledge on juvenile pollock from the postlarval period to the time they recruit to the fisheries. In addition to its importance to humans as a major commercial species, pollock also serves as a major forage species for many marine fishes, birds, and mammals in the North Pacific region. Este artículo desarrolla la idea de que las Reglas y Usos, entendidas como condiciones generales son el marco jurídico que tiene el crédito documentario, sus revisiones periódicas les permiten adaptarse a las necesidades cada vez más cambiantes del comercio internacional, y se puede incluso llegar a decir que son otro elemento de la "globalización" de la economía o de la "mundialización" del Derecho.

Análisis del mercado del rating de las emisiones de titulación en España (1993-2011)

[ES] La calificación crediticia externa es un elemento clave para el buen fin de las operaciones de titulización. No obstante, las agencias de calificación han sido objeto de una intensa controversia, cuestionándose su fiabilidad y objetividad. En este trabajo abundamos en esta cuestión, analizando la distribución de los ratings otorgados a las emisiones de bonos de titulización llevadas a cabo en España (1993-2011), uno de los países más activos en cuanto al volumen de emisiones, llegaron a ocupar el segundo puesto a nivel europeo y el tercero a nivel mundial. Aportamos evidencia sobre ciertas anomalías entre las que cabe destacar la estructura oligopolística del mercado del rating, la fragilidad desde una perspectiva histórica de las calificaciones otorgadas, y la existencia de patrones no homogéneos en la elección de la agencia de calificación, tanto si se tiene en cuenta la sociedad gestora, como el colateral de respaldo.

Silver King Creek Paiute cutthroat trout restoration, 1991 through 1993

Silver King Creek, Alpine County, is the native range of the Federally-threatened Paiute cutthroat trout, Oncorhynchus clarki seleniris. Paiute cutthroat currently inhabit Coyote Valley and Corral Valley creeks, which are tributaries to Silver King Creek below Llewellyn Falls, and also Silver King Creek and tributaries aboye Llewellyn Falls. Rainbow trout, O. mykiss, were introduced into the basin during 1949 and became hybridized with Paiute cutthroat. Chemical treatments attempted by the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) in 1964 and 1976 failed to eliminate hybrid trout. A chemical treatment project was again conducted by the CDFG from 1991 through 1993 to eliminate hybrid trout from within the range of Paiute cutthroat. This report presents a summary of events for the first two years of the Silver King Paiute Cutthroat Trout Restoration Project; a more thorough analysis is made of the third and final year of the project. Seltene Fischlarven in den Ichthyoplanktonfängen der westlichen Ostsee im Zeitraum 1993 - 1996

Distribution and abundance of fish eggs and larvae in North Sea and Baltic Sea have been objectives of fishery research for over 100 years. Most fish species produce pelagic eggs or larvae. The early developmental stages of many marine fish species important to commercial fishery are part of plankton communities, and can be sampled by a single gear. Collections of fish in their larval phase provide material for studies of many aspects of fishery research: e.g. information on plankton communities and abundance of fish species in the area of investigation.

Oceanographic Profiling and Spectroradiometer Observations from the MOCE-2 Cruise: 28 March to 14 April 1993

This report contains results from the second cruise of the Modis Optical Characterization Experiment (MOCE). Data presented here were obtained on the Mexican Research Vessel El Puma between 29 March and 13 April along the Pacific coast of Baja California and in the Gulf of California. Three types of data are reported: high spectral resolution radiometry at three depths for 13 stations; salinity, temperature beam attenuation and chlorophyll-a fluorescence, profiles at the same stations; and total suspended matter and suspended organic carbon and nitrogen.(PDF is 90 pages.)

Deutsche Rotbarschfischerei im NW-Atlantik (Reykjanes Rücken - Irminger See - Ostgrönlandschelf) in den Jahren 1993 und 1994 und ihre möglichen Zukunftsaussichten

Die Rotbarschfänge der deutschen Hochseefischerei in der Irminger See (ICES Gebiet XII und XIV) weisen in den beiden letzten Jahren, verglichen mit anderen kommerziellen Arten ( z.B. Kabeljau) hohe Steigerungsraten auf. Sie sind einerseits durch die Wiedervereinigung (Eingliederung der damaligen Rostocker Hochseefischerei in die BRD-Flotte), anderseits durch Fangsteigerungen der DFFU (Deutsche Fisch-Fang-Union) auf den historischen Fanggründen des Ostgrönlandschelf bedingt. Über diese Fischereien, sowie über ihre Zukunftsaussichten, soll im Folgenden berichtet werden.
