An analytical model for the compressive and shear response of monolithic and hierarchical corrugated composite cores has been developed. The stiffness model considers the contribution in stiffness from the bending- and the shear deformations of the core members in addition to the stretching deformation. The strength model is based on the normal stress and shear stress distribution over each core member when subjected to a shear or compressive load condition. The strength model also accounts for initial imperfections. In part 1 of this series, the analytical model is described and the results are compared to finite element predictions. In part 2, the analytical model is compared to experimental results and the behaviour of the corrugated structures is investigated more thoroughly using failure mechanism maps. © 2008 Elsevier Ltd. The effects of salt stress on carbohydrate metabolism in Microcoleus vaginatus Gom., a cyanobacterium isolated from desert algal crusts, were investigated in the present study. Extracellular total carbohydrates and exopolysaccharides (EPS) in the culture medium produced by M. vaginatus increased significantly during the growth phase and reached a maximum during the stationary phase. The production of extracellular carbohydrates also significantly increased under higher salt concentrations, which was attributed to an increase in low molecular weight carbohydrates. In the presence of NaCl, the production of cellular total carbohydrates decreased and photosynthetic activity was impaired, whereas cellular reducing sugars, water-soluble sugars and sucrose content and sucrose phosphate synthase activity increased, reaching a maximum in the presence of 200 mmol/L NaCl. These parameters were restored to original levels when the algae were transferred to a non-saline medium. Sodium and K+ concentrations of stressed cells decreased significantly and H+-ATPase activity increased after the addition of exogenous sucrose or EPS. The results suggest that EPS and sucrose are synthesized to maintain the cellular osmotic equilibrium between the intra- and extracellular environment, thus protecting algal cells from osmotic damage, which was attributed to the selective exclusion of cellular Na+ and K+ by H+-ATPase.

So far, little is known on the distribution of hepatotoxic microcystin (MC) in various organs of bivalves, and there is no study on MC accumulation in bivalves from Chinese waters. Distribution pattern and seasonal dynamics of MC-LR, -YR and -RR in various organs (hepatopancreas, intestine, visceral mass, gill, foot, and rest) of four edible freshwater mussels (Anodonta woodiana, Hyriopsis cumingii, Cristaria plicata, and Lamprotula leai) were studied monthly during Oct. 2003-Sep. 2004 in Lake Taihu with toxic cyanobacterial blooms in the summer. Qualitative and quantitative determinations of MCs in the organs were done by LC-MS and HPLC. The major toxins were present in the hepatopancreas (45.5-55.4%), followed by visceral mass with substantial amount of gonad (27.6-35.5%), whereas gill and foot were the least (1.8-5.1%). The maximum MC contents in the hepatopancreas, intestine, visceral mass, gill, foot, and rest were 38.48, 20.65, 1.70, 0.64, 0.58, and 0.61 mu g/g DW, respectively. There were rather good positive correlation in MC contents between intestines and hepatopancreas of the four bivalves (r = 0.75-0.97, p < 0.05). There appeared to be positive correlations between the maximum MC content in the hepatopancreas and the delta(13)C (r = 0.919) or delta(15)N (r = 0.878) of the foot, indicating that the different MC content in the hepatopancreas might be due to different food ingestion. A glutathione (GSH) conjugate of MC-LR was also detected in the foot sample of C. plicata. Among the foot samples analyzed, 54% were above the provisional WHO tolerable daily intake (TDI) level, and the mean daily intakes from the four bivalves were 8-23.5 times the TDI value when the bivalves are eaten as a whole, suggesting the high risk of consuming bivalves in Lake Taihu. The binding energy of an exciton bound to a neutral donor (D-0,X) in GaAs quantum-well wires is calculated variationally as a function of the wire width for different positions of the impurity inside the wire by using a two-parameter wavefunction. There is no artificial parameter added in our calculation. The results we have obtained show that the binding energies are closely correlated to the sizes of the wire, the impurity position, and also that their magnitudes are greater than those in the two-dimensional quantum wells compared. In addition, we also calculate the average interparticle distance as a function of the wire width. The results are discussed in detail.

本文提出了广义雾滴提升循环(MMLC)的设想,以更有效地开发利用更多的低温热源。在21m高的实验装置内进行了成功的实验,研究了雾化过程和雾滴提升过程中各热力参数的变化.最后对MMLC的净输出功率进行了分析和讨论。

本论文利用传统的稀土催化剂组成,探讨了稀土催化剂的配制方式,配制出稳定的均相催化剂;深入探讨了影响聚异戊二烯分子结构的因素,合成了高顺式、高分子量、窄分子量分布且具有与天然橡胶相似的拉伸结晶特点的聚合物;讨论了催化剂活性中心的形成机理;均相催化剂用于丁二烯-异戊二烯共聚合可制备窄分子量分布的无规共聚物。 1. NdCl3•3iPrOH/MMAO催化体系:可在较低的MMAO (Al/Nd < 40)用量下,高收率地合成高的顺式-1,4含量(> 96%)、非常高的分子量(Mn > 100×104)、相当窄的分子量分布(Mw/Mn < 2.0)的聚异戊二烯。与烷基铝助催化剂如Al(i-Bu)3和Al(i-Bu)2H相比,在顺-1,4含量相同的情况下,MMAO体系所得聚合物的分子量最高,分子量分布最窄。催化剂形成配位阳离子性质的活性中心。 2. Nd(vers)3/Al(i-Bu)2H/Al(i-Bu)2Cl催化体系:可在适当的陈化条件下配制出稳定的均相催化剂,该均相催化剂可在较低的Al/Nd用量(Al/Nd = 10)和催化剂用量([Nd] = 0.20 mM)下,高收率(> 80%)地合成高顺式-1,4含量(> 96%)、高分子量(Mn > 50×104)、窄分子量分布(Mw/Mn < 3.0)的聚合物。均相催化剂的活性中心为配位阳离子性质的单活性中心。 3. Nd(vers)3/MMAO/Al(i-Bu)2H/Al(i-Bu)2Cl催化体系:在相当低的MMAO用量(Al/Nd = 10,总铝量Al/Nd = 20)下,仍具有高的催化活性,所得聚合物的分子量较高(Mn 52.4×104),分子量分布较窄(Mw/Mn < 3.0),顺-1,4结构含量可达96%。通过调节Al(i-Bu)2H和MMAO用量可以控制聚合物的分子量及分子量分布。 4. Nd(vers)3/Al(i-Bu)3/Al(i-Bu)2Cl催化体系:用Al(i-Bu)3代替Al(i-Bu)2H作助催化剂,可在各种加料方式下高收率地获得高顺-1,4含量(96%)、非常高分子量(Mn > 100×104)、窄分子量分布(Mw/Mn < 3.0)的聚异戊二烯,且所得异戊橡胶在高顺-1,4含量(96%)、高分子量(Mn ≥ 90×104)、窄分子量分布(Mw/Mn ≤ 2.1)时存在拉伸结晶现象,性能接近甚至超过天然橡胶。 5. Nd(vers)3/AlR3(Al(i-Bu)2H, Al(i-Bu)3)/Al(i-Bu)2Cl催化体系在一定条件下,可获得高顺式-1,4含量(丁二烯和异戊二烯的顺-1,4含量均可达99.9%)、高分子量(Mn > 50×104)、窄分子量分布(Mw/Mn < 3.0)的丁二烯-异戊二烯共聚物。只是用Al(i-Bu)3作助催化剂时,均相和非均相催化剂均可得到高顺式、更高分子量(Mn > 100×104)、更窄分子量分布(Mw/Mn < 1.8)的共聚物。两单体的竞聚率为:对于Al(i-Bu)2H体系,rBD = 0.923,rIP = 0.612;对于Al(i-Bu)3体系,rBD = 1.02,rIP = 0.919。表明聚合物为无规共聚物。

采用p-AlGa1-xN/i-GaN/n-GaN异质结构成功制备了含铝组分分别为0.1和0.07的正照射可见盲紫外探测器,并分别测试了它们的伏安特性曲线和光电响应光谱。对于Al组分为0.1的器件,在零偏压处出现了板低的暗电流密度,表明器件具有非常高的信噪比。高分辨率X射线衍射仪对材料的测试结果表明,高铝组分(0.1)窗口层薄膜材料的晶体质量较差,导致暗电流增大,而其窗口层的窗口选择作用则可以得到较高的响应率和较宽的响应波段。

详细分析了基于自镜像效应的MMI DMUX器件的基本工作原理,在此基础上,在SOI材料上完成了对8信道MMI DMUX的具体设计。该器件的输入、输出单模波导采用Soref的大截面脊形光波导理论进行优化设计,最后获得了当输入、输出单模波导宽度为5μm,SIE多模波导宽度和长度分别为72μm和6313.4μm时,该器件对8信道波长的隔离度均在35dB以上,且理论传输损耗<0.18dB。
