Variable temperature photoluminescence (PL) measurements for In0.3Ga0.7As(6 nm)/GaAs(34 nm) quantum dot superlattices with a period of 20 and an In0.3Ga0.7As(6 nm)/GaAs(34 nm) reference single quantum well have been conducted. It is found that the temperature dependence is different between the quantum dots and the reference single quantum well. The PL peak energy of the single quantum well decreases faster than that of the quantum dots with increasing temperature. The PL peak energy for the InGaAs/GaAs quantum dots closely follows the InAs band gap in the temperature range from 11 to 170 K, while the PL peak energy for the InGaAs/GaAs quantum well closely follows the GaAs band gap. In comparison with InAs/GaAs quantum dots, the InGaAs/GaAs quantum dots are more typical as a zero-dimensional system since the unusual PL results, which appear in the former, are not obvious for the latter. The effect of electric field on the electronic structure of a spherical quantum dot is studied in the framework of the effective-mass envelope-function theory. The dependence of the energy of electron states and hole states on the applied electric field and on the quantum dot size is investigated; the mixing of heavy holes and light holes is taken into account. The selection rule for the optical transition between the conduction band and valence band states is obtained. The exciton binding energies are calculated as functions of the quantum dot radius and the strength of the electric field. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physics.

含氧化限制孔的VCSEL具有低的阈值电流,但氧化孔的存在也会加大串联电阻.本文采用理论模型,详细计算了氧化限制型VCSEL的串联电阻.把串联电阻分解为垂直方向电阻和横向电阻,分析了串联电阻与氧化孔半径的关系,提出了降低VCSEL串联电阻的具体方法.

兰州重离子回旋加速器装置H IRFL在某种工作模式下,需要对束流在时间上进行调制,以避免束流对输运线造成损伤;并在加速器引出的束流能量较高且流强很大时,采用束流调制器可使调束在较低的流强下进行,而不必改变加速器的参数。调制器由加装在束运管道上的两个平行电极与相应的电子学电路组成。为满足调制脉冲前后沿的时间要求,电子学设计着重考虑展宽电压放大器频带低品质因数电路设计。

采用景观因素赋值法(方法Ⅰ)和主成分分析法(方法Ⅱ)对大相岭山系大熊猫栖息地进行评价,结果表明,方法Ⅰ的结果中中等适宜、适宜等级和最适宜等级所占的面积分别为94.62、45.46和0.21 km2,分别占总面积的4.17%、2.00%和0.01%;而方法Ⅱ的结果中,中等适宜和适宜等级所占的面积分别为623.03和170.27 km2,分别占总面积的27.49%和7.51%。结合实际调查数据和景观因素,发现2种方法均能对大相岭山系大熊猫生境进行评价,但差异较大。方法Ⅰ评判因素较少,各因素所占比重较大,因素对整个评价结果影响很大,评价结果不精确,但所需人力、物力较少;方法Ⅱ所需评判因素较多,野外搜集所需资料困难,累计贡献率很难达到95%,而且需要大量的人力、物力。因此,为了减少评估误差,应将2种方法结合对动物生境进行评估。

作为生态工程的参与者和受影响者,农牧民对生态工程成效的评价、对未来生态工程措施的选择倾向具有重要的决策参考价值。将结构化问卷调查与开放式访谈相结合,对内蒙古自治区武川县、四子王旗和太仆寺旗3个旗县生态工程建设情况进行了调查研究。结果表明:退耕还林还草、围封禁牧以及季节性休牧是本区主要的生态工程类型;基于个体体验,农牧民并不认为生态工程取得了良好的、显著的生态效益;生态工程对农牧民的影响表现为"减产、提效、增收";对于未来的工程措施,农牧民优先选择限制牲畜数量,其次是退耕以及保护退化草地;绝大多数农牧民支持有补偿条件下进一步退耕和生态移民。本文进而给出了一些研究和政策建议。

In this paper, a facile sol-gel process for producing monodisperse, spherical, and nonaggregated pigment particles with a core/shell structure is reported. Spherical silica particles (245 and 385 nm in diameter) and Cr2O3, alpha-Fe2O3, ZnCo2O4, CuFeCrO4, MgFe2O4, and CoAl2O4 pigments are selected as cores and shells, respectively. The obtained core/shell-structured pigment samples, denoted as SiO2@Cr2O3 (green), SiO2@alpha-Fe2O3 (red), SiO2@MgFe2O4 (brown), SiO2@ZnCo2O4 (dark green), SiO2@CoAl2O4 (blue), and SiO2@CuFeCrO4 (black), are well characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-vis diffuse reflection, as well as by investigating the magnetic properties. The results of XRD and high-resolution TEM (HRTEM) demonstrate that the pigment shells crystallize well on the surface Of SiO2 Particles. The thickness of the pigment shell can be tuned by the number of coatings, to some extent. These pigment particles can be well dispersed in some solvents (such as glycol) to form relatively more stable suspensions than the commercial products.

C-13 and H-1 relaxation times were measured as a function of temperature in two magnetic fields for dilute solutions of phenolphthalein poly(ether sulfone) (PES-C) in deuterated chloroform. The spin-lattice relaxation times were interpreted in terms of segmental motion characterized by the sharp cutoff model of Jones and Stockmayer (J. S. model). The phenyl group rotation is treated as a stochastic diffusion by the J. S. model. The restricted butterfly motion of the phenyl group attached to the cardo ring in PES-C is mentioned but is not discussed in detail in this work. Correlation times for the segmental motion are in the picosecond range which indicates the high flexibility of PES-C chains. The correlation time for the phenyl group internal rotation is similar to that of the segmental motion. The temperature dependence of these motions is weak. The apparent activation energy of the motions considered is less than 10 kJ/mol. The simulating results for PES are also reasonable considering the differences in structure compared with PES-C. The correlation times and the apparent activation energy obtained using the J. S. model for the main chain motion of PES-C are the same as those obtained using the damped orientational diffusion model and the conformational jump model.

Peroxiredoxin V (PRX V) is known as an atypical 2-cysteine peroxiredoxin that protects the organisms against various oxidative stresses and functions in signal transduction. The cDNA of a PRX V gene (designated as CfPRX) was cloned from scallop Chlamys farreri. The full-length sequence of CfPRX cDNA was of 2,179 bp with a 564 bp open reading frame encoding a peptide of 187 amino acids. Sequence comparison showed that CfPRX shared higher identities with PRX Vs than that with other isoforms of PRX, indicating CfPRX was a member of the PRX V family. Fluorescent real-time quantitative PCR analysis revealed the presence of CfPRX transcripts in gill filaments, adductor muscle, heart, gonad, kidney and hemocytes, and the stimulation of Listonella anguillarum significantly (P < 0.01) enhanced the mRNA expression of CfPRX in hemocyte. These results indicated that CfPRX was a constitutive and inducible acute-phase protein which was involved in the immune resistance to L. anguillarum stimulation.
