Passageiros de terceira classe: o transporte de emigrantes na história econômica da Navigazione Generale Italiana

From the 1860s, the Italian emigration reached many entily, becoming on national problem and a source of revenue for shipping companies operating in the Atlantic. In Italy, the resources were fundamental in financing the replacement of the old sailboats by more modern steamers. Established in 1881, the Navigazione Generale Italiana (NGI) had not scoped to carry passengers. It acted in trade of goods conjugated with postal services widely subsidized by the state. By incorporating that transported immigrants, in a concentration process that would transform it in the largest shipping company in Italy, the NGI opened the thriving business of emigration to the Americas. Based on reports and Balance Exercises Financial of the company between the years 1881 and 1915, papers relating to merchant shipping and emigration legislation (laws of 1888 and 1901), this paper aims to present some results of research on the importance trafficking of Italian emigrants Navigazione Generale Italiana for marking the specialization process of its fleet this kind of service.

One of the oldest segments in operations management, whose models are always subject to development efforts, for academics and productive organizations, is the management of production and work organization. Proposals for strategic management principles that seek to bring production to streamline processes reduce costs and add value, identifying problems with material flow and information while reducing the response time. This is realized through the pursuit of the best actions to achieve goals and targets established in a successful Planning and Production Control. This article aims to identify and implement actions that increase the speed of supply of goods produced in a enterprise cutlery; positively influencing the perception of customers. Such attitudes benefit all actors involved in the network, a fact which is expressed in the production chain. To lay the foundations of research and validate the data obtained, it was a study drawing on action research methodology. The goods produced are sold, mainly to wholesalers. Was proved seven aspects to improve and enhance the competitiveness of the organization, among them the complete design of the network, integrating upstream and downstream actors.

New Business Models And Editorial Exemption: A Study On Service Journalism Based On Ecommerce Operations

The paper presents and discusses business strategies based on the association from journalistic content to new commercial practices in digital media. We describe selected examples from Folha de S. Paulo and El País involving service guides, links and ecommerce advertisements. The employed method provides content analysis to illustrate how the search for new business models in journalism may conduct its commercial activities beyond the conventional sale of advertising and subscriptions, including a discussion on the challenges and implications of this practice. The hypothesis is demonstrated by describing operations for the sale of tickets, books, music, and films related to news features and service journalism contents. The text finally wonders and discusses how such commercial actions may affect editorial autonomy and publishing exemption.

This monography is centered on the finance analysis of CTA to investigate what reasons led the public company to come in the current financial scenario, what are the interests that exist to privatize a public company and which consequences the sale of the of public companies have for a country of subordinate capitalism like Brazil. Most Brazilian cities are in an urban collapse due to the lack of public policies for public transportation and bulky incentives for private transportation. The objective of this work was, from a bibliographical survey, to discuss the relationship between the subjects “Mental Health” and “Death”, in order to analyze possible contributions of the Psychiatric Reformation tied with the sphere of Palliative Cares. The characterization of madness as a social problem is related to the development of the capitalist mode of production. Unable to fulfill the requirements imposed by capital, insane persons are excluded from society and locked in psychiatric hospitals in order to be treated. In the same way, death is incompatible with the capitalist principles of accumulation of goods. Dying people are then transferred to the hospital in order to hide their invalidity, non-production and felt inexistence of wealth. Some principles for care in mental health that could be shared in the palliative cares are: deinstitutionalization; organization of assistance in a network; psychosocial assistance; interdisciplinarity and construction of the autonomy of family members and users. In this sense, some challenges are distinguished, between them, professional training.

Determinação de atividade de água, umidade e sal em peixes salgados e secos importados

Brazil is a major importer in the world salted fish trade. The sale of these products must meet the established standards, based mainly on the salt and moisture levels. The aim of this study was to analyze the salt and moisture levels in imported Atlantic cod and Pacific cod, and in the dried salted fish Ling, Zarbo and Saithe, which are not classified as cod since they do not belong to the genus Gadus. The water activity was also analyzed, which could be a useful parameter to determine the quality of salted fish.The results showed that the legal limits for salt were much lower than the values found in the analyses. The moisture contents established for the category of salted fish, as determined by the Portuguese legislation, were more reliable. We suggest the inclusion of the water activity as a parameter for the evaluation of these products.
