As reações de esterificação do glicerol com ésteres de ácidos gordos, na presença de catalisador originam monoglicéridos que possuem inúmeras aplicações em diversas indústrias e são emulsionantes e antibacterianos. Para a produção dos monoglicéridos, nomeadamente a monolaurina, recorreu-se à utilização de catalisadores heterogéneos de características básicas, após modificação de uma bentonita recolhida na Serra de Dentro (SD), Ilha do Porto Santo e de uma argila comercial, a K10. Estas argilas foram modificadas recorrendo a uma solução de hidróxido de lítio, e posteriormente calcinadas a diferentes temperaturas, 350, 450, 550 e 650ºC. Todas as argilas foram posteriormente caracterizadas recorrendo à difração de raios X, aos indicadores de Hammett, à titulação potenciométrica e à espectroscopia de infravermelho que confirmaram o carácter básico dos materiais produzidos. Os produtos de reação foram analisados e quantificados por cromatografia gasosa. A caracterização dos catalisadores demonstra que temperaturas de calcinação superiores a 450ºC provocam uma diminuição da força da base devido à excessiva perda de água resultante da calcinação. A produção de monolaurina é maior quando ocorre a reação do glicerol com o laurato de metilo na presença de argilas baseadas na SD, em particular o material calcinado a 450ºC como catalisador (rendimento em monolaurina de 43%). Não se detetaram outros produtos reacionais, mas a sua formação não é de excluir. Para a minimização da produção potencial de subprodutos, testou-se, também, uma reação de acetalização do glicerol com acetona originando o composto solketal. Os resultados desta reação, apesar de indiciarem uma elevada seletividade para o produto pretendido, não foram elucidativos em termos de ordenamento dos catalisadores em termos de atividade catalítica. Posteriormente fez-se uma tentativa de reação do solketal com o laurato de metilo na presença de catalisador heterogéneo básico de argila, não se tendo observado atividade catalítica.

Este trabalho expõe o percurso realizado no intuito de perceber se são ou não inovadoras as práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas por uma professora, em contexto de aula, com os seus alunos, a qual fundamenta a sua ação no modelo pedagógico do Movimento da Escola Moderna. Desenvolvemos a investigação através de uma metodologia qualitativa, um estudo de caso, que foi efetuado numa escola do Primeiro Ciclo do Ensino Básico, do ensino particular, da Região Autónoma da Madeira, numa turma cuja professora era responsável por dezasseis alunos que frequentavam o terceiro ano de escolaridade. Procuramos, no enquadramento teórico da investigação, definir o conceito de inovação e compreendê-lo no campo da pedagogia articulando-o depois, com o modelo pedagógico do MEM, numa perspetiva construtivista. No estudo empírico descrevemos a postura pessoal e profissional da professora na tentativa de entender se as práticas por ela desenvolvidas vão ao encontro da inovação pedagógica. No final verificamos que as conclusões se direcionam para uma evidência: a postura profissional e pessoal, assumida pela professora, bem como as suas práticas pedagógicas, fundamentadas no modelo pedagógico do MEM, evidenciam uma rutura paradigmática aproximando-se da inovação pedagógica.

O artigo começa por discutir "cultura escolar" e a necessidade de uma mudança de paradigma educacional. Em seguida, discute a contradição entre o objectivo de educar professores inovadores na utilização de Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) e a tentativa de fazer isso sob a influência da cultura tradicional embutida nas paredes e nas rotinas da escola, invocando Seymour Papert, como um dos principais críticos da escola fabril. Finalmente, é avançada uma possível forma de contornar aquela contradição, desde que os formadores de professores estejam conscientes de que ela existe e abordem a formação dos professores segundo uma abordagem construtivista e de acordo com o princípio de isomorfismo, formulado por Gaston Mialaret.

Este estudo pleiteia a discussão acerca do conhecimento concreto da criança que aprende com mais autonômia, como ferramenta indispensável para construir práticas pedagógicas inovadoras, tendo o docente como seu mediador. No intuito de compreender a inovação pedagógica o locus pesquisado foi o Grupo Escolar Luís Viana Filho localizada no município de Ibirapitanga - Bahia - Brasil, na tentativa de compreender os saberes e as práxis utilizadas como valorização do saber científico. Trata-se de uma pesquisa etnográfica, na qual se compreende a criança e o docente como sujeitos protagonistas do processo de construção efetiva de saberes, percebendo a importância da escola como um dos ambientes propiciadores da construção de aprendizagens. Os resultados permitiram refletir acerca da postura tanto dos alunos quanto do professor no desenvolvimento do cotidiano da sala de aula, valorizando os diversos ambientes sociais como espaços de aprendizagens e priorizando a atuação da criança como desveladora de seus próprios saberes.

A presente dissertação surge como um movimento na tentativa de compreender o intrincado território textual de Gonçalo M. Tavares. Da palavra inicial que erra o mundo e que abre a possibilidade do erro e da sua correção, partirse-á para a tentativa de traçar uma cartografia da linguagem na obra polimórfica de Tavares. O mapa para este movimento será o já amplo ‘corpus’ que constitui a obra publicada do autor e que se divide por textos que vão do romance à poesia e ao ensaio, até outros de difícil catalogação. Em todos eles se poderão recolher indícios de leitura de um mapa ainda em construção, para se tentar aferir o modo como os textos literários de Tavares refletem a sua própria ficcionalidade e como, através desta, exercitam a linguagem como matéria de construção aliada ao desenho e às imagens, uma outra escrita que se grava num mesmo suporte para uma melhor compreensão do que se quer narrar ou desenhar. Afinal, como se poderá verificar, palavras e desenho partem de um mesmo ponto e de um idêntico traço para representar e questionar o mundo.

A síndrome dos ovários policísticos (SOP) é um distúrbio endócrino-ginecológico que se caracteriza, principalmente, por anovulação crónica e hiperandrogenismo, afetando entre 5 a 10% das mulheres em idade reprodutiva. As principais manifestações da SOP incluem os seguintes sintomas: irregularidade menstrual, hirsutismo, infertilidade, acne, alopecia androgenética, obesidade e acantose nigricans. Esses sintomas apresentam- se de forma bastante heterogênea, havendo diferenças marcantes na sua prevalência e intensidade entre diferentes grupos de mulheres que apresentam SOP. Apesar da condição biológica, a SOP não é apenas um problema físico, mas também psicossocial, interferindo e comprometendo a qualidade de vida das mulheres que a apresentam. A partir de uma revisão da literatura, este estudo discute os aspectos psicossociais de mulheres com SOP, destacando o impacto dos sintomas na qualidade de vida relacionada com a saúde. Considerando que cada mulher responde de forma singular aos sintomas que apresentam, destaca-se a importância de incorporar a perspectiva individual da mulher com SOP ao seu contexto social. Nesse sentido, são discutidos achados de pesquisas utilizando abordagens metodológicas quantitativas e qualitativas, numa tentativa de melhor compreender a experiência das mulheres diante da SOP. Os sintomas da SOP podem estar associados com a ocorrência de ansiedade, disfunções sexuais e sentimentos de inadequação ao papel feminino, como também podem desencadear sintomas depressivos e isolamento social, com comprometimento significativo da qualidade de vida. Os autores destacam a importância do atendimento multidisciplinar para as mulheres com SOP, considerando essa condição como importante problema psicossocial. A atenção aos aspectos psicossociais da SOP tem aumentado nos últimos anos, no entanto, a produção científica relacionada ainda é escassa

The discussions concerning the absence of a management model appropriate to the peculiarities of third sector organizations have not been impeditive to their emphasized expansion in the last decades. In the attempt of understanding this phenomenon from the perspective of those who manage social organizations, this work based on the theory of social representations to understand the notion that organization managers of the third sector - based in Fortaleza CE - have of the part that they play and how this notion influences the direction of their activities. Social representations of managers of four different categories of non-governmental organizations have been investigated, each category composed of two unities. The categories researched were: social integration through art and education, prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse, children s health assistance and community action. By using Doise s Societal Approach, the role of social managers translated in intraindividual, interindividual and situational processes of their actions, has been analysed within the social representations, focusing on beliefs, values, symbols and stories that give meaning to the existence of non-governmental organizations. Analysis and discussion of data displayed the existence of diversity in the understanding of managers within their practice, in other words, the management profile is also its own manager s. The branch where an organization acts is also preponderant in the shaping of a management style. It could be deduced, from to the organizations researched, that professional formation and the manager s social insertion mainly, are determinative factors in the outlining of a management model of its own. It was concluded that, due to heterogeneity of interests and action segments, there is no systematic process for social management among organizations. Management styles are supported by their director s own perception of achievement, who model organizations according to their contingencies

The present study seeks to describe the features and peculiarities of the relationship between organizational culture and the quality of tourism services, specifically in the restaurant sector, attempting to contribute toward maintaining the tourism sector of the city of Natal/RN. Thus, a descriptive and correlational study, with qualitative and quantitative approaches, of thirty-seven restaurants that are located in areas that compose the tourism corridor of Natal was undertaken. To collect the quantitative dada, the Organizational Culture Evaluation instrument of Cameron and Quinn (2006) was applied and the SERVPERF instrument of Cronin and Taylor (1992) was used to measure the quality of the services. The results suggest that the Clan and Innovation Cultures are associated with better levels of quality of services than those of the Market and Hierarchy Cultures. The relationships that were identified in this study are consistent with results found in other studies and the information reported here can serve as a basis for managers of the restaurant sector to reach excellence in their services, satisfying their customers and contributing to maintaining the tourism sector

In recent decades the public sector comes under pressure in order to improve its performance. The use of Information Technology (IT) has been a tool increasingly used in reaching that goal. Thus, it has become an important issue in public organizations, particularly in institutions of higher education, determine which factors influence the acceptance and use of technology, impacting on the success of its implementation and the desired organizational results. The Technology Acceptance Model - TAM was used as the basis for this study and is based on the constructs perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. However, when it comes to integrated management systems due to the complexity of its implementation,organizational factors were added to thus seek further explanation of the acceptance of such systems. Thus, added to the model five TAM constructs related to critical success factors in implementing ERP systems, they are: support of top management, communication, training, cooperation, and technological complexity (BUENO and SALMERON, 2008). Based on the foregoing, launches the following research problem: What factors influence the acceptance and use of SIE / module academic at the Federal University of Para, from the users' perception of teachers and technicians? The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of organizational factors, and behavioral antecedents of behavioral intention to use the SIE / module academic UFPA in the perspective of teachers and technical users. This is applied research, exploratory and descriptive, quantitative with the implementation of a survey, and data collection occurred through a structured questionnaire applied to a sample of 229 teachers and 30 technical and administrative staff. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling with the technique of partial least squares (PLS). Effected primarily to assess the measurement model, which were verified reliability, convergent and discriminant validity for all indicators and constructs. Then the structural model was analyzed using the bootstrap resampling technique like. In assessing statistical significance, all hypotheses were supported. The coefficient of determination (R ²) was high or average in five of the six endogenous variables, so the model explains 47.3% of the variation in behavioral intention. It is noteworthy that among the antecedents of behavioral intention (BI) analyzed in this study, perceived usefulness is the variable that has a greater effect on behavioral intention, followed by ease of use (PEU) and attitude (AT). Among the organizational aspects (critical success factors) studied technological complexity (TC) and training (ERT) were those with greatest effect on behavioral intention to use, although these effects were lower than those produced by behavioral factors (originating from TAM). It is pointed out further that the support of senior management (TMS) showed, among all variables, the least effect on the intention to use (BI) and was followed by communications (COM) and cooperation (CO), which exert a low effect on behavioral intention (BI). Therefore, as other studies on the TAM constructs were adequate for the present research. Thus, the study contributed towards proving evidence that the Technology Acceptance Model can be applied to predict the acceptance of integrated management systems, even in public. The balance between the demands of two important spheres of human life, work and family, has become a challenge due to the pressures of the contemporary that is expanding around the difficulties of reconciling these two comínios. In this sense, this research aimed to understand the work-family interaction in the perception of executive secretaries. The analysis approach used was qualitative research, by worrying about a reality that can not be quantified due to the subjectivity of his goal. The data collection technique used was the semistructured interview to twenty executive secretaries, servants of a Federal Institution of Higher Education. For the understanding and interpretation of the data, we used the technique of content analysis. The results of both analyzes identified the existence of conflict as enrichment in this interaction. The time was identified as the largest generator of conflict work. The overload, relationship stress and conflict emerged as elements common to both domains. As main implications of labor disputes, were revealed: problamas health for secretaries and stress. As main implications of family conflicts emerged: motivation for work, lower performance and lack of concentration. The attempt at balance was identified as the strategy most used by secretaries to minimize work-family conflict. The work-family enrichment was seen as resources that contribute to improving the lives of the secretary in both domains. The opportunity to add knowledge was highlighted as enriching element of work and family values ​​as elements enriching family. The support and experience emerged as enrichment items common to both domains. Regarding the implications of enrichment resulting from the interaction of work and family, the more perceived by respondents were: increased knowledge and skills, material and psychological benefits, improved quality of life and personal and professional fulfillment. From the perception of executive secretaries, work and family spheres of human life are essential and complementary, and that help is contrary, however, this relationship is the primary management of conflicts, ie, how the individual sees and manages the negative side of the work-family

This dissertation shows a comparison between practices related to the body, to identities and to the health of young drug takers of synthetic and manipulated psychoactive substances living in Fortaleza. Through ethnographic accompaniment of parties and two social nets of young people I was able to verify the differences and similarities that make these addicted singular and plural in their notion of ethos and world vision. Notions of being hippie/alternative and being punk are present between these nets. Because their use and circulation are developed in environments usually distinct, it is possible to trace singular aspects between the nets and its actions. In parallel, on the attempt to build a triangulated data, I had information related to youth and drugs in local media and in governmental institutions bound to health mental and city security policies. With this junction of data I present a perspective to questions evolving formal and informal important controls to the conduction of their lives and identities. I present this as a sequel to well developed studies in Brasil about youth in interface to drug use, although still not very explored in the state of Ceará.

This dissertation is an attempt to understand how families with an income of up to three minimum wages and living in different Areas of Demographic Expansion (AEDs) of Natal municipality specifically in the districts of Igapó and Salinas (North Administrative Zone of the city), Ponta Negra (South Administrative Zone), Santos Reis, Praia do Meio, Areia Preta and Mãe Luíza (East Administrative Zone) and Felipe Camarão (West Administrative Zone) solve their problems of urban mobility. It is, therefore, a reflection upon the mobility needs of poor urban households as expressed in terms of origin-destiny displacements for specific movements (house-work, house-school, house-shopping, house-healthcare and house-leisure), all of which being analyzed within the relationship between public transportation and poverty spaces of the city. In order to develop the study, theoretical aspects and themes related to the production of the urban space, to social and spatial segregation, to urban mobility and to transportation were confronted with the collected data referring to the urban population previously selected. One of the research main findings is the crucial role mobility plays in the social differentiation of such people living in Natal and that any policy for the improvement of their living conditions must take mobility issues into account

The so-called "residential tourism" came to intensify the previous occupation of the coastal zones, characterized by traditional beach houses, and brought significant consequences for their spatial configuration, and especially for its scenic value of the landscape. Although there is the intention to regulate the activities of enterprising groups by some legal instruments to control the use and occupation of land, and to contain some negative effects, the actions of government are still inefficient in trying to follow the implications on the landscape from the accelerated growth of the real estate and touristic sectors. Supported in the speech of economic development and income generation, public managers prioritize areas to attract tourists to the detriment of preserving important physical attributes of the natural environment that contribute significantly to the quality of life. The result can be noticed in the use of natural elements as one of the major components in the land valorization, and in the immediate attraction of investors and enterprising. Therefore, the objective of this work is to contribute to the debate on the landscape preservation a little detailed thematic in view of their relevance in the current context - by indicating subsidies to the creation of a methodology for the evaluation and protection of coastal zones that may assist the government in creating new instruments, and better prepare it in control of the occupation of these areas. For such, was followed two ways to analysis: the indirect method and the direct method. The first is grounded in the evaluation of landscape attributes, which is based on the work of Raquel Tardin (2008) and Eduardo Cuesta, Encarnación Algarra and Isabel Pastor (2001). The second, based on the research of Leticia and Carlos Hardt (2010) and on the concepts of phenomenology - expressed by Antonio Christofoletti (1985) and Yi-Fu Tuan (1983) - considers the population perspective on the quality of the natural scenery. Developed through cartographic materials, photographic collections and quantitative tables, this dissertation utilized as a case study the beaches of Barra de Tabatinga and Camurupim, located in the city of Nísia Floresta/RN. Despite already being sighted spaces of advanced stage of landscape degradation in these locations, areas of remarkable scenic value can still be found, what reinforce the urgency in adopting preservationists actions. The absence of laws focused on the management and protection of the landscape singularities associated with the inefficiency of the government to invigilate the land occupation in coastal zones, encourage the excessive action of the real estate-tourism, and consequently make the government the main responsible for the environmental and landscape impacts in these areas - by its omission or by their connivance. Therefore, the legislation permeates this entire process and constitutes itself as the most effective way to guarantee the right to the landscape to present and future generations. Are also pointed some important considerations to build a methodology, especially concerning possibilities of improvements and adaptations of its applicability in each case

According to article 182 of the Brazilian Federal Constitution, cities should perform social function, what brings the concept that the city should be a place for one to live well. For that to happen, it should be well administered by its public managers. However, so that there is a sound administration, one that really performs that social function, there must be, first, an efficient planning. We understand that such a thing occurs when the master plan is the main planning instrument of a city and serves as basis for its administration. We notice, however, that in most of the cities the master plan is formulated as a law that regulates urban planning but that both the population and the government most of the times are not aware of its importance concerning the relevant issues related to municipal administration, such as its relationship with the economy, taxation, the social issue, land use regulation, and, in summary, with all the aspects that constitute and that a municipal government should manage in the best possible way. One also knows that, in general, the attempt of city planning has always been connected to the duration of a mandate and that way public managers many times implement restricted measures aiming to just attain a political-electoral objective and publicizing their administration. That implies actions and works that in some cases have negative impacts or ones that cannot be removed from the cities. This study intends to show that the master plan should be the planning instrument guiding the municipal administration but that, however, what we note is a lack of connection between that instrument and the government guidelines of the municipal managers. In order to study what happens to the cities that have a planning which is not taken into account in its administration, we will use the city of Fortaleza, capital of the State of Ceará as a case study. Historically, in Fortaleza the public managers have seldom decided to administer the city in according to the master plans developed for it. We should emphasize that planning begins in the city quite late and until the current days it is being substituted by temporary measures. Through the analysis of the planning process and of the urban management of the city of Fortaleza, especially the master plans predicted since 1933, we explain that if such plans had been implemented, they could have been important tools for its administration to attain a social function, becoming therefore a place for one to live well
