This article presents and analyzes the configuration of a project of university extension, developed in partnership with public schools, which has as themes sexuality and gender issues. We seek to understand to which extent sexuality and gender issues contributes to the continuity of the trio teaching / research / extension, while acting as promoter of knowledge of emancipation of those envolved (under graduates, faculty and the community). We based our presuppositions on action research, with document analysis and questionnaires responded to by participants in the project during the period 2005 to 2011 as the instrument of data collection. We constituted that formative processes that disrupt the predominant perspectives in the educational processes of a stereotypical, biologizing and heteronormative nature of sexuality and gender issues were favoured. Moreover, the experience of inseparability of teaching/research/extension was favoured, based on the understanding of knowledge as something constructed in and through social relations.

In Mozambique, the portuguese language is considered the official language, second language, national language and competes with more than twenty Bantu languages spoken by the majority of population. The standard norm lose away their floor to the Mozambican Portuguese which carries own characteristics pertaining to the sociolinguistic context of the country. Schools attempt their best, but they cannot teach the European standard due the multilingual and Portuguese contact with African languages, a fact that is reflected in the media and in the literature through their oral and written forms. These difficulties result in high rates of failures due to problems encountered in using the European standard by teachers and writers who prepare the school books. This research suggests the standardization of the Mozambican variant as well as the preparation of dictionaries and grammars illustrating the sociolinguistic reality of Mozambique in order to improve the quality of education. It also emphasizes the need for a self-esteem spirit on Mozambicans in general as a conduit to eliminate the soaring bias that Mozambicans can not speak portuguese language

In recent years, the concept of art education has been changing substantially the artistic and cultural education in the Brazilian educational system, particularly in relation to the formation of a critical awareness and practice of citizenship. In this process, the Community Public Relations and Public Communication excel in fostering alliances between government and community. Based on literature review and authors debates, such as Geertz, Santos, White, Freire, Araujo, Barbosa, Kunsch e Peruzzo. Besides the analysis of important materials, official documents and Brazilian projects involving art, culture and education, such as Research-Action Report 2013, the National Plan for Culture, the National Education Plan and the Municipal Act 6119; this paper seeks to explicit this affirmation, assuming the social transformation aiming a full citizenship, as a motivational factor.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the prevalence of ankyloglossia in people of different age groups living in the native Brazilian community of Umutina, in the municipality of Barra do Bugres/Mato Grosso. Methods: The sample consisted of 291 native Brazilians who underwent clinical examination. Results: Ankyloglossia was observed in 108 (37.11%) individuals. There was a greater prevalence of ankyloglossia among males, with 57 cases (43.8%) against 51 cases (31.7%) in females. Age distribution was done after analyzing the hierarchical grouping, resulting in three age groups: 1- to 20-year-olds, 21- to 45-year-olds and 46- to 99-year-olds. Ankyloglossia was more prevalent in the youngest group, with 65 cases (40.6%). Conclusion: Although there is a high rate of ankyloglossia among the individuals who live in the Umutina Reservation, ankyloglossia does not seem responsible for the changes associated with phonation, mastication, presence of diastema and periodontal problems, since these changes were infrequent and generated no complaints.
