Human salivary gland tumors originated from intercalated ducts present a broad range of histologic and cytologic patterns, mainly due to the presence of myoepithelial cells. The aim of this study is to verify the differentiation grade of neoplastic cells and a possible relation between myoepithelial cell differentiation and the presence of luminal secretory contents. The expression of vimentin and cytokeratin (CK) intermediate filaments, actin myofilament and epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) was investigated by double labeling immunocytochemical technique, in thirty salivary gland neoplasms: 5 pleomorphic adenomas, 5 myoepitheliomas, 3 basal cell adenomas, 7 adenoid cystic carcinomas (ACC) and 10 polimorphous low grade adenocarcinomas (PLGA). Tumors with intercalated duct differentiation (pleomorphic adenomas, basal cell adenomas and ACC) express CKs 7, 8, 18 and 19 in the luminal cells and coexpress eventually CK14 with these CKs. Some luminal cells stained with anti-EMA antibody, mainly where a secretory content in the lumen was observed. Outer ductal cells and other myoepithelial-like cells express vimentin, sometimes coexpressing actin and/or CK14 with vimentin. Plasmacytoid cells in myoepitheliomas and pleomorphic adenomas express vimentin and rarely CKs 7, 8, 18 and 19, sometimes coexpressing these CKs with CK14 but they are negative for the remaining antigens. Tumors without intercalated duct differentiation (solid basal cell adenoma and PLGA) express vimentin and CKs 7, 8, 14 and 18, sometimes coexpressing CKs 8 and 18 with CK14. In conclusion, in tumors with intercalated duct differentiation, myoepithelial cells express vimentin and sometimes coexpress actin and/or CK14 with vimentin, never coexpressing other CKs with vimentin. CK14 and actin are independently expressed by myoepithelial cells, so their expression is probably induced by different stimulus. Avaliação in vitro da resistência adesiva ao cisalhamento entre a dentina bovina, cimentos resinosos e materiais restauradores indiretos, tratados ou não com jato de óxido de alumínio, ácido fluorídrico e silano

The purpose of this study was to evaluate in vitro the shear bond strenght to bovine dentin, during 24h and 30 days with the following variables: resin cements Enforce and Panavia F; aesthetics restorative materials Art Glass, IPS Empress 2 and Targis, with surface treatment with microetching with aluminium oxide, fluoridric acid and silane. Two hundred eighty eight sound bovine teeth from 3 years old animals constituted the samples after inclusion on polyester resin box. lnstron model 430 Universal Testing Machine, a crosshead speed 0,5 mm/min and load cells of 500 Kg, was used for shear bond strenght testing (MPa). A perspectiva metodológica da resolução de problemas: um estudo sobre enunciados de situações matemáticas na EJA

In this paper we discuss the importance of a methodological perspective of solving problems as a sustaining process of teaching mathematics situated on the perspective of concept formation. Organizing a significant didactic situation for students imposes the need to study the interaction between them and the teacher and between them and their mathematical knowledge, learning environment in which the mere transmission of content gives way to contextualization, to historicizing and handling of topics from intuitive and everyday situations for the student. Thus, we understand mathematics as a fundamental language for the creation of theoretical thinking as a whole. We made use of documental analysis and classroom situations aiming at the use of instructional procedure related to the resolution of problems with the purpose of overcoming some representations about the process of teaching and learning mathematics which is strongly marked by imitative-repetitive algorithmic procedures. Considering mathematics as an investigation discipline, we point out renewal prospects for the curricula of this discipline, which are concrete in the movement of cultural action of the school itself as the cell generating discussion.

Estudo da dureza e da resistência à compressão de resinas compostas para dentes posteriores após a imersão em água destilada. Efeito da aplicação de selante superficial

Novos compósitos têm surgido no mercado especificamente destinados à confecção de restaurações estéticas posteriores. Entretanto, embora tais materiais apresentem resultados iniciais animadores, há a necessidade de comprovações adicionais para que possam ser utilizados com segurança. Resinas compostas posteriores são submetidas a estresses complexos de compressão e abrasão durante a mastigação e a aplicação de selantes superficiais tem sido relatada como forma de aumentar a resistência ao desgaste destes materiais. O presente trabalho teve como propósito avaliar a dureza e a resistência à compressão das resinas compostas Alert (Jeneric/Pentron), Ariston (Vivadent), Definite (Degussa), P60 (3M), Solitarie (Kulzer), Surefil (Dentsply) e Z100 (3M) após 90 dias de imersão em água destilada, recobertas com selante Protect It (Jeneric/Pentron) e submetidas à ciclagem mecânica (10.000 ciclos, 600N, 5Hz). Os ensaios de dureza (n=8) foram realizados em aparelho Wolpert, com diamante Vickers e peso de 50gf aplicado por 30 segundos, antes e após períodos de imersão de 30, 60 e 90 dias. Os ensaios de resistência à compressão (n=8) foram realizados somente após 90 dias, em corpos-de-prova cilíndricos medindo 8mm de altura por 4mm de diâmetro. Apenas os espécimes destinados à compressão foram ciclados mecanicamente. Os ensaios foram realizados em máquina MTS 810, equipada com célula de carga de 10kN (ciclagem) e 100kN (compressão) e velocidade de 0,5mm/min. Após análise de variância (p<0,05), os resultados mostraram, previamente à imersão, maiores valores de dureza para os materiais Z100 (74,253VHN) e Ariston (71,308VHN). A seguir, com valor semelhante à resina Ariston, mas inferior à resina Z100, apresentou-se o material Surefil (69,969VHN)...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo)

Influência do herbicida Glifosato (N-Fosfonometil)Glicina) na formação de biomassa da alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (Chlorophyceae)

Herbicides are chemical agents most consumed for agricultural production and of these, glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine) represents more than half of world consumption of non-selective herbicides, use of systemic action and post-emergent. The present study aims to analyze the interference of different concentrations of glyphosate in the development of micro algae, unicellular species Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, with supplementary analysis of the interference of green algae concentrations in the artificial lake Instituto de Biociências Universidade Estadual Paulista in Rio Claro, SP. To identify the effect of glyphosate on the development of microalgae concentrations: 0.118; 0.236; 0.472; 0.944; 1.888 and 3.776 mg of product (all in rejoinders), maintaining control without glyphosate, were inoculated into flasks containing 150mL of medium culture and 5mL of suspension inoculum levels. Each test was continued for 96 hours in a shaker rotating at 150 rpm at 25 / - 2 ° C and constant light of 3200 lux. At baseline and 48; 72 and 96 hours samples were taken for testing for absorbance. The final dry weight was measured and the tests with P. subcapitata cell number was quantified at the beginning and end of the tests using the Neubauer chamber under optical microscope. For algae of the artificial lake of the diversity of microalgae cells was identified through photographic documentation. The analysis of variance comparing treatments for dry biomass showed no significant differences in the tests with P. subicapitata as for the algae to the lake.The analysis of variance MANOVA showed significant differences between the treatments over time but there was no significant difference between the interactions of treatment for tests with P. subicapitata There were significant differences in the tests with microalgae of the artificial lake.
