Uma análise espacial do crescimento econômico dos municípios paulistas no período de 2000-2010

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo fazer uma análise do crescimento econômico dos municípios paulistas entre os anos de 2000 e 2010 baseando-se, principalmente, no modelo de Glaeser et al. (1995). Essa análise será feita relacionando o crescimento com variáveis socioeconômicas como a renda, infra-estrutura, emprego e educação. Além disso, serão acrescentadas técnicas da econometria espacial para verificar os efeitos da aglomeração e possíveis externalidades provocadas pelo crescimento. Por fim, será feita uma comparação com o trabalho de Vieira (2008) que fez uma análise semelhante dos municípios paulistas para o período de 1980 a 2000

Como o ensino vê a variação?

Thinking about the correlations between linguistic variation and education is both necessary and urgent if we wish to make language teaching more appropriate, fairer and more meaningful. I take, on one hand, already well-established concepts derived from research on language: the variable nature of language (in space, time, situations) and the intrinsic relationship between this variation and social structure, the communicative needs of speakers, the needs and desires that speakers have to build their social identity. On the other hand, we found out that the teaching of Portuguese language has usually been based on a vision that assumes the language as a static reality. I propose to contrast the two components of this issue, to reveal where, and if, any relationship has been established, and where it is to be built. In the first instance, I seek to evaluate the bond – how one speaks about change when this issue comes to be focused; in the second, I seek the reasons for absence - ignorance or indifference?

Região de Araraquara: elementos para pensar um indicador sobre vocação produtiva grícola

This paper seeks to explore some key elements that are relevant to improve overall productivity including, particularly, the small agricultural enterprises in the so-called "region of Araraquara". Location and infrastructure, among other factors, are of paramount importance; however I endeavor to highlight those, which I consider are the most significant and refer to aspects of cognitive and immaterial labor in the sense that its products are intangible, such as knowledge, communication, interaction, focusing on institutional collaborative activities and productive resistance.

Mudança de fronteiras étnicas e participação política de descendentes de imigrantes em São Paulo

This paper analyzes patterns of political mobility of a specific social stratum - immigrants and their descendants - in the western region of São Paulo, where coffee economy prevailed since the last quarter of the XIXth century. We investigate the main agents of local politics in seven cities: from the traditional oligarchic regime characteristic of the Old Republic to the processes of political transformation in the thirties that resulted in the post-war re-democratization, when a recomposition of local political elites takes place.

Regionalization of health in Brazil: an analytical perspective

This article aims to contribute to the debate on the SUS regionalization policy and the establishment of health regions in Brazil. Understanding them require to recognize the dichotomy between public health and individual health - which marks the history of Brazilian public health - and identify the different rationalities that lead this process. Such rationalities allow not only to consider the legacy of municipalization in the current regionalization process, as well as to establish links between the two fields of fundamental knowledge to the debate, epidemiology and geography. Clinical epidemiology, privileging individual health, gives basis to a healthcare model that prioritizes the optimization of resources. The recognition of health in its broader concept, in the social epidemiology, bases an attention model aimed at social determinants. With geography, functional regions can be formulated, based on Christaller's theory, or lablachianas regions which recognize the social loco / regional structure, allowing intervention in determining or conditioning the way of illness and death of populations.

O estudo errado e a escola conivente: a escola como reprodutora das estruturas do capitalismo

A escola possui um papel fundamental em nossa estrutura social contemporânea ocidental. Ela interage dialeticamente com nossa sociedade sendo um local reprodutor e alterador de valores, crenças e hábitos em que quase todos frequentam por mais de uma década. Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso tem como objetivo trazer reflexões sobre a função da escola, a quem ela serve e porque, analisando a música Estudo Errado de Gabriel, o Pensador, dialogando com autores que abordam a escola em uma perspectiva crítica, como os críticosreprodutivistas, Althusser e Bourdieu, mas também com Gramsci, Foucault, entre outros. Os questionamentos sobre a função da escola e seus interesses constantemente são feitos de maneira superficial e se aprofundados poderiam colaborar para uma maior criticidade e transformação do cotidiano e da prática escolar. A pesquisa se desenvolverá em uma abordagem qualitativa e a metodologia utilizada será pesquisa bibliográfica, análise documental, através da análise de conteúdo. Meu intuito com este trabalho é discorrer sobre as forças que direcionam a escola, desconstruir a aparente neutralidade que a escola possui no imaginário popular e trazer a tona que a escola é produto de um conflito social

Vacinas contra Leishmaniose: uma revisão

Leishmania is a protozoan belonging to the family Trypanosomatidae, obligate intracellular parasite cells of the mononuclear phagocyte system. In the New and Old World several orders of wild mammals (natural reservoirs) and various species of sandflies (vectors) are involved in the transmission of leishmaniasis. The new settlements in rural areas, changes in the environment and unplanned urbanization increased human contact with vector and interaction with the animal reservoir. A simple prophylactic measure seems to be the vector control as well as disease reservoir. With the goal of raising the prophylactic measures that are being used in vector control, the reservoir of the disease and what the infrastructure accordingly. We conducted a literature review in July 2011 in the electronic databases of Bireme, Medline, CancerLit, Portal Capes, SciELO, PubMed and Medscape, the main texts on the subject. Thus, the development of a vaccine that is effective against various forms of leishmaniasis in the old and new world, it is necessary and has been recommended by WHO as a possible tool for effective eradication of the disease.

Educação: transformação ou reprodução

Among the various school functions in capitalist society there in the literature and common sense that the school would have a central role in correcting social inequalities produced by the capitalist mode of production. We see, in today's society, children and young people who moved by the desire to get out of where they are, usually on the outskirts, in a vulnerable situation, seek growth through the study; They see it as a way out to another reality with more opportunit ies and chances for improvement, both as regards their quality of life, and even want to change, change and influence their own reality or part of it, with the knowledge learned in school. On the other hand, there are theorists who maintain that the school reproduces the basic features of the social structure and the current system of power in society. Our goal is to discuss the transformative potential of education as opposed to its role of reproduction of social inequalities, through the essential role of the teacher, who has a high profile role when it comes to change. The teacher is one of the first professionals that we remember when we turn to the school and refer to the systematic teaching. But sometimes forms of education present in the school, afflicting much of children and young people and are characterized in order to favor certain classes and eventually stop the growth and development of those who do not meet the required standards. In this paper we intend to compare two lines of thought, alluding to pedagogical activities in class, the Paulo Freire, which brings the teacher's figure with a responsible actor for lead students to reflection of their practice; and Pierre Bourdieu, which considers the pedagogical practice as an act of imposition of values of the ruling class. Desenvolvimento de um sistema de controle para avaliação de fontes de energias renováveis no bombeamento de água

The use of alternative energy systems in the current days is an urgent necessity due to the problems that the planet is facing as the heating and loss of ozone layer. The scarcity of conventional energy is another problem that must be solved for the future of humanity. It must be considered that the people are inhabiting places moved away not always with available energy. The application of technologies as automation and control can help us to solve this problem. Therefore, this work aimed at apply an equipment of industrial usage, the Programmable Logical Controller, PLC, in alternative energies systems, as eolic generation and fotovoltaic generation used for water pumping, aiming the automatic control and the efficiency in the places where it has simultaneous availability of these sources, based in criterion of priority that previously established itself between them. It was made a hydraulic and energetic evaluation of the energy system, eolic and fotovoltaic, used in the automatic control system of pumping, in the place of accomplishment of the experiment, according to previously established physical conditions. The results have shown that the control system using the PLC is practicable and has trustworthiness. The program developed can be adapted for the use with several power plants in a specific application place. The fotovoltaic system of pumping, using a polycrystalline of 70 Watts connected to a pump Shurflo 8000, showed to be efficient with significant flows in almost all the months. The eolic system of pumping, using an eolic generator of 400 Watts assembled in place of experiment, did not demonstrate energetic capacity for use in this specific type of application.
