New challenges, new skills for a digital library

The Andalusian eHealth Library (BV-SSPA) was set up in 2006, but the region already had 42 librarians who worked at hospitals or other centers and were in charge of their libraries. The Digital library meant for all of them the availability of a greater amount of scientific resources and also the challenge of adapting to this new environment which brought new tasks and responsibilities to their daily work, and required the development of new skills. The time has arrived to analyze how they have implemented this change and how it has transformed their professional profile within the Andalusian Health System. Nowadays, the Andalusian eHealth Library establishes the librarian’s targets and their work is evaluated according to the fulfillment of these targets. This evaluation is carried out by the director of the BV-SSPA, taking into account the performance related to the general stated targets, as well as their level of commitment to the Digital Library through the performing of specific assigned tasks.

El cloud journalism : un nuevo concepto de producción para el periodismo del siglo XXI

La profunda transformación que está experimentando el periodismo, y la mitosis mediática entre el periodismo tradicional y el digital, está generando, amén de cambios en los contenidos y los géneros periodísticos, una mutación en las formas tecnológicas de publicar esos contenidos y de acceder de forma distribuida, escalable y flexible a nuevas fuentes gracias a Internet: es lo que denominamos cloud journalism. La Sociedad de la Banda Ancha ofrece un abanico de posibilidades que los profesionales del periodismo pueden aprovechar para rentabilizar más su producción y para mejorar su calidad. El grid journalism, el utility journalism o el Journalism as a Service (JaaS), en una dinámica de ASP (Application Service Provider), son otros nuevos conceptos que adaptan el funcionamiento tecnológico de los entornos grid al ámbito de la comunicación y del periodismo.

Adaptació dels gèneres periodístics al periodisme digital : estudi empíric comparatiu

Els gèneres periodístics tradicionals s’estan adaptant acceleradament al periodisme digital. De fet, arran dels fenòmens de mitosi mediàtica i mediamorfosi, l’adaptació és mútua: un nou entorn, amb més rapidesa, una nova tipologia de lector i unes noves maneres de produir estan provocant unes sinergies que solquen tot el mitjà i, sobretot, els continguts, els gèneres. És per això que el Grup de Recerca i Anàlisi sobre Periodisme Digital, creat pel Centre d’Estudis sobre el Cable (CECABLE) el 2008, està portant a terme un estudi científic de comparació empírica entre diaris digitals i tradicionals del qual es desprenen unes perspectives d’adaptació i desenvolupament encoratjadores per als gèneres clàssics i oportunitats per als gèneres sorgits de l’onada digital.

Diez aportaciones del empleo de la metodología cualitativa en una auditoría de comunicación interna en Atención Primaria.

Qualitative methodology, originally belonging to the Social Sciences domain, has progressively incorporated to Health Research to the scepticism of many and the admiration of others. Nowadays, validity and fiability of these qualitative techniques is still questioned by a great amount of health researchers and their use provokes doubt among reviewers and other members of the scientific community. This article presents as a fundamental measure for the validity of the qualitative methodology its precise use to approach determinate research objectives specific to them and, echoing the extra issue of the Health Services Research on December 1999 on this methodology, gathers the contribution of the use of these techniques from a complementary point of view, in a Internal Communication Audit conducted in the Primary Care Services of four Regional Health Systems: Area II of the INSALUD (National Health Institute), Basque Health System, Canary Health System and Andalusian Health System.

El blog y otras herramientas comunicativas de la biblioteca del Área de Gestión Sanitaria Este de Málaga - Axarquía

In 2006 the Library of the Andalusian Public Health System (BVSSPA) is constituted as a Virtual Library which provides Resources and Services that are accessed through inter-hospital local area network (corporate intranet) and Internet. On the other hand, the Hospital de la Axarquia still did not have any institutional or self-presence on the Internet and the librarian ask the need to create a space for communication with the "digital users" of the Library of the area through a website. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The reasons why we opted for a blog were: -It was necessary to make no financial outlay for its establishment. It allowed for great versatility, both in its administration and in its management by users. -The ability to compile on the same platform different Web 2.0 communication tools. Between different options available we chose Blogger Google Inc. The blog allowed entry to the 2.0 services or Social Web in the library. The benefits offered were many, especially the visibility of the service and communication with the user. 2.0 tools that have been incorporated into the library are: content syndication (RSS) which allowed users to stay informed about updates to the blog. Share documents and other multimedia as presentations through SlideShare, images through Flickr or Picasa, or videos (YouTube). And the presence on social network like Facebook and Twitter. RESULTS. The analysis of the activity we has been traking by Google Analytics tool, helping to determine the number of blog visits. Since its stablishment, on November 17th 2006, until November 29th 2010 the blog has received 15,787 visitors, 38,422 page views were consulted, at each visit on average 2.4 pages were consulted and each visit has an average stay at the site of 4'31''. DISCUSSION. The blog has served as a communication and information tool with the user. Since the creation of the blog we have incorporated technologies and tools to interact with the user. With all the tools used we have applied the concept of "open source" and the contents were generated from the activities organized in the Knowledge Management Unit from the anatomo-clinical sessions, the training activities, dissemination events, etc. The result has been the customization of library services, contextualized in the Knowledge Management Unit - Axarquia. In social networks we have shared information and files with the professionals and the community. CONCLUSIONS. The blog has allowed us to explore technologies that allow us to communicate with the user and the community, disseminate information and documents with the participation of users and become the "Interactive Library" we aspire to be.

Disseny i implementació d’un quiosc digital per a dispositius iOS

Hermes Comunicacions és el primer grup de comunicació escrita en català, quecompta amb 54.000 exemplars cada dia al carrer i prop de 600.000 lectors ainternet. És la responsable de les publicacions: El Punt Avui (edicions Nacionali Comarques Gironines), Presència, L’Econòmic, Sortim, Catalonia Today i El 9Esportiu.Actualment, es disposa de tres vies per difondre les diferents publicacions: paper, web i El quiosc (web d’accés a subscriptors). Aquest projecte pretén desenvolupar l’aplicació i entorn necessaris per lacreació d’una quarta via de difusió dels diferents productes, facilitant-ne lavisualització mitjançant dispositius mòbils. Concretament ens centrarem en elsdispositius mòbils d’Apple basats en el sistema operatiu iOS.Degut a que ens trobem davant d’un nou entorn per als desenvolupadors i peral client, preveiem que aniran sorgint canvis durant el transcurs del projecte.Per tant decidim utilitzar una metodologia flexible als canvis de requeriments.Les metodologies àgils són les que millor s’ajusten al desenvolupament que esvol fer. Les habilitats Informacionals a la Biblioteca de la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya

In this paper the initiatives carried out by the Biblioteca Virtual UOC in relation to the information skills, in the UOC curricula as well as in the context of new European higher education area, are presented. Looking forward the catalogue of generic skills to be defined by the UOC, in relation to which the Virtual Library has submitted a proposal to introduce a course on information skills to be offered during the first semester, the Library has chosen to develop and carry out two complementary initiatives. On the one hand, to offer a course of information skills for teachers within the program of training courses for teachers organized by the Teaching Action Management Area. On the other, the Library participates in the presential meetings organized by the University by means of workshops to guide students in finding information.

Instrumentos de gestión para el Depósito digital de la UAB

El Servei de Biblioteques de la UAB gestiona un dipòsit digital que cobreix les expectatives generades per un dipòsit institucional a la vegada que actua facilitant la consulta de la biblioteca digital pròpia. La naturalesa diversa de les col·leccions, quant a origen i format ens ha obligat a utilitzar eines de gestió específiques per establir els circuits, mètodes i procediments de treball. Volem compartir la nostra experiència, tant a nivell de creació d'un únic dipòsit capaç de gestionar tot el nostre fons digital, com de les opcions de treball intern escollides.

Sistema de comunicación para mensajería de ficheros (HL7)

El proyecto consiste en la creación de un sistema de mensajería que permita el envío y recepción de ficheros generados por el software de gestión sanitaria UNIT4 Ekon Salus. Las tareas a realizar son, por un lado, la portabilidad del sistema actual basado en Visual Basic a Java y, por el otro, la implementación de un sistema de control y notificación de errores, ya sean generados por el contenido de los ficheros o por la comunicación entre los programas de envío y recepción que constituyen el sistema de mensajería.

Realitzar una proposta per a millorar la competència digital a la ESO mitjançant un estudi d'altres sistemes educatius i realitzar una proposta de treball per projectes interdisciplinaris.

DEL FESTIVAL A LA ACADEMIA. Informe sobre la institucionalización de una disciplina híbrida (arte digital)

Aquest document és un esborrany. Amb l'objectiu d'aprofundir en el procés d'institucionalització, vam dissenyar una investigació empírica que permetés visualitzar les tendències discursives i àmbits d'activitats de les pràctiques relacionades amb les interseccions entre l'art, la ciència i la tecnologia. La metodologia va consistir en la implementació de tres bases de dades que recullen l'activitat dels últims anys en relació a: 1) els congressos (i festivals associats) realitzats a nivell internacional 2) les publicacions acadèmiques i divulgatives centrades en aquest àmbit interdisciplinar 3) els programes acadèmics.

Les traduccions de Carles Riba i Marià Manent al Corpus Literari Digital

Els objectius del projecte “Les traduccions de Carles Riba i Marià Manent al Corpus Literari Digital” són diversos: d’una banda, digitalitzar totes les edicions originals de les traduccions publicades per Carles Riba i Marià Manent; d’altra banda, fer un inventari de tots els textos continguts en aquestes traduccions (de poesia, de narrativa i de teatre); i finalment, introduir els registres dins la plataforma del Corpus Literari Digital de la Càtedra Màrius Torres. La digitalització ha permès de preservar digitalment el patrimoni literari constituït per aquestes traduccions de dos dels autors i traductors més importants de la literatura catalana del segle XX. L’inventari dels textos de cadascun dels seus volums de traduccions (poemes, narracions i obres de teatre) ha permès de constituir una base de dades en la qual es registren totes les versions diferents de cadascun dels textos traduïts que Riba i Manent van anar revisant al llarg de la seva vida. Finalment, la inclusió d’aquests registres bibliogràfics dins la plataforma del Corpus Literari Digital de la Càtedra Màrius Torres permet la seva consulta en línia i la possibilitat de trobar, per a cada text, totes les seves versions i de visualitzar la imatge del document original, la qual cosa facilitarà als investigadors l’estudi de la història textual de les traduccions, la de l’evolució de la llengua literària dels autors, entre altres possibilitats.
